i bought gris in the stream sale knowing full well that it's going to sit there only partially downloaded alongside all the others until the end of time.

(laptop only gets booted into Windows about once a month and i download a couple of hundred MB then, if i remember)

I think I 100%’d all three of them. The plots are weak and things like the endless climbing get old fast but they’re so picturesque and my brain apparently never gets sick of that “ooh, secret passage!” feeling.

is there any exploration in the newer TRs or is it mainly running down a corridor?

They borrow heavily from Uncharted, so it’s pretty on rails at times. I think usually the first time you go through an area it’s fairly scripted, but then they open world it afterwards so side quests and stuff feel more free. Like, they give a good illusion of exploration.

The second at least* has a couple of big open areas (the size of four or five of the other levels) that you can wander around in - you have plot beacons that tell you where to go next so that frees the developers up to make it looser.

*can't remember the first, haven't played the third yet.
