Caught 3 types of shark yesterday morning super early, ribbon eel and huge river fish that starts with A later in the day while Mordy was visiting! Decided to try my luck with turnips this week and the local price has completely tanked. Sounds like if I want to catch ants and flies, I need to let turnips rot?

i'm guessing anyone can grab the items that are just dropped, but maybe not the ones that are "placed"? (i.e. leaf icon on the ground vs actual object)

yeah you can grab leafs but not emplaced furniture

Redd has finally visited me again today! I got the cleopatra-head statue. But his visit hit rate is way too low :(

he's visited me once to introduce himself, and once with the boat. unless I missed him by not traversing the whole island, which is possible

Once he's done the boat visit you wont see him on the island and I think that might be what tripped me up last time (and its interesting that an islander handed me a painting - I reckon he went and got it for me lol)

The thing to do is keep an eye on your map. When Redd is in town a sort of leaf in a circle icon will appear over wherever the "secret beach" is on yr island.

What's up with Bamboo shoot growth? Do they only grow the one and that's it? At least I can keep chopping the trees for wood, but it makes the shoots super rare.

just did a trip on Turnip Exchange. very profitable but holy shit Nintendo can you ever do online right? freezing every client when someone joins or leaves wtf

I think i read somewhere they wont produce shoots if you've dug up and moved it, only if its grown from a shoot and left alone? not sure.

i can confirm that is true - transplanting means no new shoots.
but even when i've done it the right way - growing a fresh shoot into a bamboo tree, then a new shoot pops lies underground - i don't think it ever does it again, which is... unfortunate. especially for those recipes that require the shoots

Hm must remember to always raid shoots on Bamboo Island then.
