yeah, I screwed up the rock bit for the first two days

one of the first tips in the game is about eating fruit to smack things, which is incredibly misleading

Even if you smash a rock, it will come back the next day somewhere else! but maximize your rock bashing with a flimsy or stone ax or shovel (and no fruit consumption) to get up to 8 things (the most I can ever get is 6). Having a toilet for fruit pooping is my #1 goal right now - I used one on a friend's island after eating 10 apples and the music was hilarious. Her's fell out of a tree.

I had a ridiculously proud moment yesterday when I actually caught a wasp instead of letting it sting the crap out of me.

Theres a trick to wasp catching. Shake every tree while holding a net, facing the tree (ie facing "north" I guess?). If a waspnest pops out, you'll automatically face the right way when you startle, just hit A when that happens and you'll catch the wasp easily.

Other method (which does not catch the wasp but at least shoos it off) is to pop a popper in its face.

To get the most out of rocks, dig a hole or 2 behind you so oyu dont bounce away. You wanna do this especially in case you get the bell rock of course.

When you dig up that glowy spot? Re-bury the bells in the glowy hole, and you get a bell tree 3 days later.

And one more tip some may not know: when crafting, hit A a few times instead of once, and it speeds the damn thing up.

I finally got my attic room today (dear god, the final loan is in the millions - I wont have my basement til years end at this rate, and I now recall I never did get a basement in AC new leaf or wild world, sigh).

The hole digging trick for rock smacking is what I was referring to, it’s probably best to look up a video of someone doing it, you gotta position yourself just right.

I usually just book it when wasps attack and get far enough away to pull my net out and nab em, I still get stung sometimes though.

two tricks my kid taught me: holding down the slingshot button so you you can see when the present balloon is in your sights instead of just firing over and over, and tapping down on the joystick to jump to the nook miles you’ve just received instead of scrolling down through all the nook miles and inevitably accidentally scrolling past it

The way I know: have between 10 - 20k in your pockets already. Dig up shiny spot. Go to pockets. Go to the bells thing in the lower left and A. It will let you make a 10k bag. Do that and then plant it. Don't put the original shiny spot bells away until after you plant the 10k bag.

i'm pretty sure as long as you have more than 10k bells on you you can always take a 10k sized bag out of it and put it in your pocket, then bury that

I have dups of some southern hem seasonal stuff like the tree's bounty lamp, mush stool, and acorn pochette. If anyone wants to drop by today I have it all on tables at my flea market right by the airport so can open my gates a bit later.

Afaict my daughter lost interest in this game really quickly, which is disappointing. I know there's a bunch of stuff she hasn't unlocked yet, and from what I can tell she only has a 1 star island (which is bad?), but she seems reluctant to grind away to get enough bells to build enough stuff to better her rating and so on. I had ordered the game for her pre-lockdown, but I was still really hoping it would have kept her busier. I guess it's just not as compelling as inane Tik Tok clips.

Noooo, I dont know why my other frind (the guy dressed as a widower in the big black hat) was doing that but I gather he was making millions from turnip selling - hes been playing it a bit obessively. He made like 5 trips back and forth to offload all his neeps, lord knows how he'd been storing them.
