Almost bought one of these to help keep the kids occupied before Shit Got Real. Regretting that I didn't, it seems impossible to find one anywhere now. I haven't owned a console since the original NES. Anybody know if Nintendo is hustling to get more made or are they in hibernation?

presumably Nintendo is aware they have stock issues and would like to sell as many as possible but the supply chain is almost certainly impacted by covid

covid both disrupted their manufacturers in china and created a huge spike in demand, they haven't stopped making them but it's gonna be bottlenecked for a while

Paradise needs a bit of an attitude shift if you already love the previous games. I hated it when I first tried it because I wanted more of the same, then came back to it a couple of years later and liked it a bit more, then again a couple more years later and fell fully in love with it.

going to be full price on switch though..... hmmmmm....

I'll still buy it. There's been a dearth of games that I care about for the switch lately.

lol the version I got has Mario U, and yeah I do love Marios. Not going to bother with Maker though. Will probably get Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley cos the people I usually game with have them and it’d be fun to co op and I love Stardew Valley anyway.

Usually play on PS4 but have a Steam account as well and the mini Nintendo consoles mentioned above. Into: Yakuza series, Age of Empires, Ace Attorney (though not going to get this if it’s a Switch game tbf), Life is Strange? Basically story-based games I guess but I play Tekken a bit and stuff like Overcooked and other casual games too.

Breaking news: I've been alternating Switch and PS4 games, more or less, and I was going to finally play Odyssey after Dark Souls 3. I'm on the fence over whether or not I want to absolutely finish DS3, though, so maybe it will be Mario sooner rather than later.

i have played mario and zelda and they are both great their shd be more mario levels tho IMHO

the mexican level is the coolest

feel like if u like side scrolling mario which i dont really care abt then mario maker wld be the way to go as it gives u access to infinite side scrolling mario levels

im still hoping the fact that they didnt do bonus dlc levels for mario odyssey means they just rolled right on over to making another one like they did with galaxy

reasonable theory, i read the zelda 2 theyre making started out as a dlc and got too big

odyssey is an extremely decent game and excellent value. i’ve played the main mission through at least eight times and have racked up 250+ hours. people who neg it are missing the point that it’s just a very good game in its own right imo.
