A PS4 Thread: Because You Had to Play "Knack"

it's a little janky but not in a way that bothers me. i read something comparing it to a ps2 game which is reasonably accurate. it's a little looser an experience than most modern "AAA" games.

on one of the first planets you visit you go and Do Your Objective. then you have to make your way all the way back across the map to your ship, using a newly "remembered" force power to open shortcuts and solve puzzles. there's no real guidance or suggestion or indication that you are going the right way. just like old times!

100% cool not wanting anything mentioned in the State of Play, except probably the samurai game, though we know next to nothing about that one.

babylons fall just looks like a dark souls game with platinum combat

i feel like we know everything about the samurai game, it's open world stealth action so an offbrand assassins creed maybe with some fancier graphical set pieces

Yeah, but we don't know how well it plays. For example, I was interested in Control, but after some fixes and patches people still say even the Pro sometimes struggles with that game, so as a slim owner I've sort of put the purchase on ice.

Dude, Control is my GOTY and I have a Slim! And yes the framerate lags when you're fighting a roomful of enemies with a million things flying around but it never bothered me that much.

finished Cold Steel 1 yesterday. the game starts anime as fuck but the last few hours really took it to another level, so ludicrous that I couldn't help but revel in the daftness of it all. hopefully they crank it up even more in the second & third games lol.

they definitely crank it up more, though mostly in the form of increasing the number of mysterious factions with unclear motives each game until you give up trying to take it seriously

i'm playing 3 now and enjoying it, it's set up like 1 structurally but escalates a lot faster and pulls in some characters from the older trails games which is fun

lol that's good to know, I've bought the second game but probably won't get round to it until next year, need to play something smaller after DQXI, FE3H and CS1 triple whammy in the last couple of months phew

probably should've bit on Control/Sekiro at $25 for BF, but I can wait another three-six months

I just played Journey recently and wow, totally choked up at the end.

It was especially powerful because I did it with a companion.

my "total hours played" stat was.......troubling

My top game was Horizon Zero Dawn. Which makes sense as I'm several years behind.

apparently my prime time to play is SATURDAY EVENINGS so this does not speak well of my 2019 social life

My total hours count seems off the charts too much. I assume (hope!?) a good chunk of that was idle time I left a game sitting on a menu screen or something. Have been known to leave these things on.

Top two games were Death Stranding and Sekiro by far. Apparently I plugged 80 hours into both of them. Wtf am I doing with my life.

My max sesh said 10 hours, which I doubt is true. must be counting a time I paused the game and walked away

Longest stint was 12 hours. That is troubling.

Quite pleased I only spent 14 hours grinding Borderlands games. Worried I spent 33 hours on Far Cry 5 despite it being just ok.
