man, cuphead is fun!

Love Cuphead, the design makes the defeat go down easy.

Hollow Knight isn't that hard - admittedly I got stuck on the 2nd boss for six months. But for the price, there's tons to play before it gets prohibitively difficult (I never finish games anyway)

I did give up on Dead Souls though

You should go back to Dark Souls *and* Hollow Knight, which are both difficult in much the same way, but which both become really, really satisfying the better you get at them. At least until "Hollow Knight" goes all platform hell on you (which comes after you finish the main part of the game).

Only Switch game on sale I picked up was "Darkwood," which looked cool (despite mixed reviews?) and only set me back $10.

Civ 5 is cheap. Anyone tried it?

I kinda want to pick up Dragon's Dogma for $20, but I'm ambivalent. Everyone has good things to say about the gameplay, but the setting/art direction just looks so painfully boring. Anyone here can vouch for it?

i recently fell in love with Wonder Boy VI: Monster World IV so i can't wait to play Wonder Boy VIII (?): Monster World V: Monster Boy I: Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom over the holidays

oh and I finished FE3H, well one of the routes anyway (Black Eagles).
they added a lot of ancillary stuff to the game between battles which worked well for the most part, Persona type events to level up relationships between characters, learn abilities, fishing & gardening etc etc. I felt it ran out of steam in the last 10 hours or so though, became far too repetitive and I found myself skipping a lot of it to get to the next story-driven battle. also I played on Hard/Classic and found it far too easy, the limited rewind function is a good idea but I barely had to use it.
a good but flawed effort to update the FE formula then, hope the next iteration nails it.

Alien: Isolation seems kinda expensive for what it is and for how long it’s been out. 35 bucks for Switch and 30 on PS4. Feel like I’ve been consistently thinking about buying it over the past five years and not doing it because it seems more expensive than it should be.

Also lol 10 dollars doesn’t mean anything but it’s weird how that will be a dealbreaker for buying a video game sometimes.

I got it on sale a few weeks back for PS4, and it was $11.99.

My cut-off for impulse purchase is about $20, anything at that price or below. Most games I've bought for Ps4 have probably been somewhere between $10 and $20. But keep an eye out, because certain titles go on sale almost cyclically, while other titles (like Resident Evil 2, or the From games) seem to go on sale much less often, or for much less off.

Price is def. the reason I have trouble pulling the trigger on a lot of Nintendo games.

Have the same 20 dollar max for impulse purchases I think. Also I get this “who the fuck do you think you are?” attitude when I see newer, better games that are cheaper right next to it.
