yeah theres plenty of good video game stories in general

did i hear something about DQXI's music being intentionally terrible? does the switch version suffer from that?

the Switch version will come with an orchestrated version of the soundtrack

the soundtrack is not great because its composed by an 80-something year old dude whose grandfathered in and doesnt really care anymore but at least you get the orchestra version on switch

yoshi’s island is a masterpiece

I finally put in some time to start playing Xenoblade Thingamabob 2. The world building is fascinating already, but one of my speakers started popping in and out during the camera control tutorial and I lost my concentration. I didn’t even make it to the fan service.

Also I tried to play Overcooked 2 couch co-op with my kid earlier and it turns out kids don’t deal well when the controllers start acting up. I’m doomed by some poltergeist

I got about 5 minutes into the DQ11 review before Tim Rogers' insincere tone made me want to vomit and I had to turn it off, but alas, this has always been the curse of Tim Rogers. It does sound like it might be fun, at least.

Yeah, I'm not sure why he does *that voice* for his scripted videos. He's much easier to listen to when speaking off the cuff.

suddenly hype for switch lite, I have not bought a nintendo console of any sort since 2006 (the minis excepted) but the turquoise one reminds me of my old game boy color and it's tricked me into ordering it with its nostalgia vibes. I guess zelda and mario odyssey and tetris 99 are no-brainers...

You'll also have access to dozens if not 100s of pretty dope indie games, SEGA classics, etc. It's quite lovely to play OutRun on a handheld.

weirdly tempted by the switch lite even though i have neither a reason nor the money to buy one

yeah i am doubling up for the turquoise lite because i am insane (and like the form factor a lot more)

Excited for Goose game, but also for Link's Awakening, as I've never played it before & I know it's a favorite of many

Neither have I, but $60 seems steep (it's the same reason I didn't get the Donkey Kong port), and with Luigi's Mansion looking awesome and right around the corner, I'd rather pay $60 for that.

basically never use my switch docked... half tempted to sell it and pick up a lite...

Anyone had trouble with "corrupted data" and things purchased digitally? I've tried downloading Astral Chain like ten times now and every time it finishes it tells me to do over because it's rotten or something

do other downloads work? could be a faulty sd card if you're using one of those.

hmmmm -- i am using an SD card, but the last download (just a few days prior) was fine

try downloading some free game like fortnite or warframe or whatever and see if it also corrupts
