not much in it for me but FE and mario maker 2 are probably must buys. daemon, astral chains and link's awakening all have potential

all in on Mario Maker, Fire Emblem, Dragon Quest. biggest wtf was Hellblade port.

also really glad I held off on buying DQ11 on PS4 hoo boy

astral chain has kamiya + the nier automata designer behind it which is good credentials. thats the big surprise in this one i think

also that new tokyo rpg factory game looks way more appetizing to me than setsuna/lost sphear though im not getting my hopes up

yeah credentials are impeccable. just wish they’d have hit some of the things on my wish list but it’s all good

the Fire Emblem seems like kind of a low-key approach to that series compared to the anime maximalism that it could have

the 180(!) cardboard Yoshi outfits make me suddenly on board for getting the Yoshi game

yeah I imagine they're going to want to reintroduce the whole experience since it's really been a while since the last full-fledged game (New Leaf came out in 2012/2013)

I am very excited to play link's awakening for the first time in rebooted switch form

I got excited from the boat cartoon that it would be Wind Waker, but LA looks great too

the gbc links awakening is my favorite zelda game and possibly just straight up favorite video game so i am more nervous than excited about that one

places third out of 99 on my first tetris99 game! i haven't played tetris in a long time so it felt pretty good. that was also the first version of tetris i've ever played where you could hold a piece for later. the targeting thing is interesting, i guess. i was too busy trying to play tetris that i found it difficult to glance at the side to pick who to target. near the end i was being targeted by 6 people at once. shortly thereafter i lost.

okeydoke, tetris99 will end up somewhere on my coint & plick 2019 ballot. i had little interest in the recent tetris that everyone raved about because i really don't care about the graphics or what kinds of backgrounds are floating behind the pieces (i know there are many other improvements besides those). but playing against a bunch of people turns out to be a lot of fun

links awakening is a goat game and better than any other Zelda game

the original links awakening started as an off the clock pet project of some nintendo devs iirc which is why it has some mario enemies in it but then got picked up as an official project. don't think intsys had anything to do with it

the later game boy zeldas were made by capcom, those are the only mainline zeldas that weren't made in-house at nintendo i think

i'm super basic with what i want from nintendo + they keep delivering, lol.

the style is fine but not super exciting to me since nintendo's already got a ton of 'diorama' presentation games even if they're all a little different
