apparently I can deactivate it remotely? so I don't have to repurchase games at least
― gbx, Thursday, 27 December 2018 00:28 (seven years ago)
Who steals someones gear from work? geez.
― Stoop Crone (Trayce), Thursday, 27 December 2018 00:44 (seven years ago)
Yeah it's really weird! Especially since we literally have an onsite federal police department and there's a camera outside my door.
― gbx, Thursday, 27 December 2018 00:49 (seven years ago)
so i presume you'll be able to see who steals someones gear from work?
― Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Thursday, 27 December 2018 00:54 (seven years ago)
Yeah is it possible its just been mislaid?
― Stoop Crone (Trayce), Thursday, 27 December 2018 02:24 (seven years ago)
Trayce if the boys are good with sillygore then definitely Dead Cells, it’s all time amazing
― flamboyant goon tie included, Thursday, 27 December 2018 03:20 (seven years ago)
They are! I'll def look into that, cheers.
― Stoop Crone (Trayce), Thursday, 27 December 2018 03:39 (seven years ago)
― gbx, Thursday, 27 December 2018 14:58 (seven years ago)
Damn, sorry that sucks. Someone stole my laptop right off the counter where I was working once (record store). It was ridiculous.
― Yerac, Thursday, 27 December 2018 15:02 (seven years ago)
sorry man :(
― Nhex, Thursday, 27 December 2018 16:08 (seven years ago)
sorry gbx : (
anyone ever buy games from the other regional stores ? some good deals to be had
― there are no good podcasts (||||||||), Thursday, 27 December 2018 22:40 (seven years ago)
GRIS is really good, folks. It is superbly paced, controls great, and is really breathtakingly beautiful. Some people will argue that its focus on aesthetics over mechanics makes it a bad game, or *not* a game (I once had a dude tell me that Undertale was "not a game"). Those people are wrong.
― days of being riled (zchyrs), Monday, 31 December 2018 12:14 (seven years ago)
i dont see how you could argue that one's not a game, it's pretty thoroughly a platformer, just not a hard one
― ciderpress, Monday, 31 December 2018 15:48 (seven years ago)
just found out katamari damacy is on here now :D
― nxd, Wednesday, 2 January 2019 10:23 (seven years ago)
oh yeah forgot about that, will save it for when i have less backlog
― ciderpress, Wednesday, 2 January 2019 14:08 (seven years ago)
i got it but haven't had time to play it yet
― na (NA), Wednesday, 2 January 2019 15:14 (seven years ago)
Was just playing that on new years eve! Super fun; frustrating controls and camera but it's so goofy it doesn't matter really especially when playing with friends.
I don't think they did anything special with it though it's just a port afaik
― Evan, Wednesday, 2 January 2019 16:12 (seven years ago)
yeah it's just the first game remastered for hd resolution
― ciderpress, Wednesday, 2 January 2019 16:29 (seven years ago)
that's good enough for me, the original katamari games are some of my favorites and there hasn't been a good way to play them in a while
― na (NA), Wednesday, 2 January 2019 16:46 (seven years ago)
katamari is a top ten all time game for me and i look forward to confusing the hell out of my partner with it
― Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Wednesday, 2 January 2019 16:55 (seven years ago)
I love the confusing premise and the discrepancy between the problem and the solution in regards to the narrative.
― Evan, Wednesday, 2 January 2019 17:17 (seven years ago)
eShop deals in NA http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2019/01/treat_yourself_to_a_bargain_or_two_with_the_nintendo_new_years_sale_in_north_america
30% off MK8D, Arms, and Splatoon 2 are as cheap as these games will be in their digital version for probably ever. Mario+Rabbits w/ DLC under $30.
― I have measured out my life in coffee shop loyalty cards (silby), Thursday, 3 January 2019 18:26 (seven years ago)
Basically if you have a new Switch for Xmas but no Mario Kart yet, and you're doing all digital, buy Mario Kart now because the base price is never gonna drop and it will probably not be discounted again for 9 months or so.
― I have measured out my life in coffee shop loyalty cards (silby), Thursday, 3 January 2019 18:27 (seven years ago)
octopath too, dammit i have already spent so much on games on sale this season am i about to get back on my bullshit

― Karl Malone, Thursday, 3 January 2019 22:25 (seven years ago)
anyone ever bought from any of the foreign stores ? tempted to pick up splatoon at the price it's on the south africa store
― there are no good podcasts (||||||||), Thursday, 3 January 2019 22:56 (seven years ago)
never tried it, i think it gets attached to your account for that region so you have to change accounts/regions every time you want to play though? not sure about that
feels like bad form to do it for indie games but for full price stuff go at yr own risk
― ciderpress, Friday, 4 January 2019 00:07 (seven years ago)
I don’t think that’s true re switching ?
everything I’ve read says there’s no downside, except slight difficulty in paying
― there are no good podcasts (||||||||), Friday, 4 January 2019 05:37 (seven years ago)
the gaming forum leak crew is getting rowdy again. a Nintendo Direct seems likely next week. I say it every time but Nintendo Direct is just the most amazing marketing tool and I lose my mind over it every time.
― I have measured out my life in coffee shop loyalty cards (silby), Friday, 4 January 2019 18:27 (seven years ago)
DIRECT ME TIL I FART

2nd week in January is when it was last year too so seems believable
― ciderpress, Friday, 4 January 2019 18:55 (seven years ago)

― ciderpress, Friday, 4 January 2019 20:32 (seven years ago)

― I have measured out my life in coffee shop loyalty cards (silby), Friday, 4 January 2019 20:52 (seven years ago)
nah thats the type of thing i'd pick up further down the road if its got good word of mouth. i still havent played bayo 2 which would be ahead of it in priority
― ciderpress, Friday, 4 January 2019 20:59 (seven years ago)
tempted to pick up some of the wii U ports for the early year celeste_has_still_not_gone_on_sale_yet lull
NSMB maybe. or DK
― there are no good podcasts (||||||||), Friday, 4 January 2019 23:32 (seven years ago)
Bayo 2, come on...
― Nhex, Saturday, 5 January 2019 02:23 (seven years ago)
xp Those NMH games are some of the reasons I want to pick up a Wii/U for back catalog
― Nhex, Saturday, 5 January 2019 02:24 (seven years ago)
i am back in possession of a (new) switch
copped 'into the breach,' it's v good imo
― gbx, Monday, 7 January 2019 07:29 (seven years ago)
it's good. I beat a run for the first time today!
― I have measured out my life in coffee shop loyalty cards (silby), Monday, 7 January 2019 07:54 (seven years ago)
Katamari (which I'd never heard of) looks like a trip (in lots of ways), but it's kind of crazy to me that it's being sold for $30 when something like Gris or even Guacamelee is half that.
― Josh in Chicago, Monday, 7 January 2019 12:21 (seven years ago)
The prices for Switch games seem crazy.
I can pick up lots of old classics for the PS4 for £10-£15 but all the Swtich games seem to stay North of £40.
Even something like the Harry Potter Lego games which is £15 on PS4 and Xbox is selling for twice that on the Switch
― groovypanda, Monday, 7 January 2019 12:31 (seven years ago)
a) carts are more expensive than discs and b) Nintendo keeps their first party games full price which sets different expectations for the market on their platforms
― ciderpress, Monday, 7 January 2019 13:28 (seven years ago)
also katamari came out like three weeks ago and is not an indie game
― na (NA), Monday, 7 January 2019 15:27 (seven years ago)
it came out like 12 years ago actually imo
― ciderpress, Monday, 7 January 2019 15:28 (seven years ago)
but yeah that's a Classic Game so they can charge whatever they want for it and people will buy it
― ciderpress, Monday, 7 January 2019 15:30 (seven years ago)
I still haven't used our switch as a portable (aside from on the couch a couple of times) but I'll pay a modest switch premium just for its being always on, ie no loading time when you turn it on. the ps4 is bad for that & I'll frequently opt to play switch (or a moronic iOS game) just to avoid the tedious ps4 loading. it really should be nothing since ps4 loading is like what, a minute? but still.
xp yes I will buy katamari for whatever, duh
― L'assie (Euler), Monday, 7 January 2019 15:31 (seven years ago)
Katamari is I think about £15-16 in the uk? Exactly what it should be imo (first time the original game's ever been released here so it's a massive treat to finally be able to play it without importing).
― JimD, Monday, 7 January 2019 16:08 (seven years ago)
https://www.humblebundle.com/store/promo/nintendoUS only and no discounts either, but this is worth keeping an eye on for sure.
