anyone ever buy games from the other regional stores ? some good deals to be had

GRIS is really good, folks. It is superbly paced, controls great, and is really breathtakingly beautiful. Some people will argue that its focus on aesthetics over mechanics makes it a bad game, or *not* a game (I once had a dude tell me that Undertale was "not a game"). Those people are wrong.

i dont see how you could argue that one's not a game, it's pretty thoroughly a platformer, just not a hard one

Was just playing that on new years eve! Super fun; frustrating controls and camera but it's so goofy it doesn't matter really especially when playing with friends.

I don't think they did anything special with it though it's just a port afaik

yeah it's just the first game remastered for hd resolution

that's good enough for me, the original katamari games are some of my favorites and there hasn't been a good way to play them in a while

katamari is a top ten all time game for me and i look forward to confusing the hell out of my partner with it

Basically if you have a new Switch for Xmas but no Mario Kart yet, and you're doing all digital, buy Mario Kart now because the base price is never gonna drop and it will probably not be discounted again for 9 months or so.

anyone ever bought from any of the foreign stores ? tempted to pick up splatoon at the price it's on the south africa store

never tried it, i think it gets attached to your account for that region so you have to change accounts/regions every time you want to play though? not sure about that

feels like bad form to do it for indie games but for full price stuff go at yr own risk

the gaming forum leak crew is getting rowdy again. a Nintendo Direct seems likely next week. I say it every time but Nintendo Direct is just the most amazing marketing tool and I lose my mind over it every time.

it's good. I beat a run for the first time today!

Katamari (which I'd never heard of) looks like a trip (in lots of ways), but it's kind of crazy to me that it's being sold for $30 when something like Gris or even Guacamelee is half that.

The prices for Switch games seem crazy.

I can pick up lots of old classics for the PS4 for £10-£15 but all the Swtich games seem to stay North of £40.

Even something like the Harry Potter Lego games which is £15 on PS4 and Xbox is selling for twice that on the Switch

a) carts are more expensive than discs and b) Nintendo keeps their first party games full price which sets different expectations for the market on their platforms

also katamari came out like three weeks ago and is not an indie game

it came out like 12 years ago actually imo

but yeah that's a Classic Game so they can charge whatever they want for it and people will buy it

I still haven't used our switch as a portable (aside from on the couch a couple of times) but I'll pay a modest switch premium just for its being always on, ie no loading time when you turn it on. the ps4 is bad for that & I'll frequently opt to play switch (or a moronic iOS game) just to avoid the tedious ps4 loading. it really should be nothing since ps4 loading is like what, a minute? but still.

Katamari is I think about £15-16 in the uk? Exactly what it should be imo (first time the original game's ever been released here so it's a massive treat to finally be able to play it without importing).
