played a bit more blazblue crosstag this morning, still awful at it but i'm enjoying it more now

yeah i'm actually becoming tempted to get blazblue xtag now that i understand what it's doing, auto-combos + the super-condensed control scheme are exactly what i want in a fighting game. still not convinced i need a trad fighting game though with smash on the way

i wonder if the Switch is powerful enough to eventually support a VR peripheral. the Switch has gyros, it has motion tracking, in both the screen and the joycons. it would surprise me if Nintendo does not eventually do something like that. or if not them, then it seems like someone might be able to fabricate a Gear VR-style holder for the Switch, Labo-style.

Why would you want to add chunky peripherals to a system whose main selling point is being portable AND a console

Today it’s Pokemon rumors, something about this year’s games being a revisit/reimagining of the Kanto region featuring Pikachu and Eevee versions.

Also the story mode for Mario Tennis has gotten more details in a trailer. Luigi gets kidnapped! Experience points and equipment upgrades!

Also fresh trailer for Octopath. The big thing there is as you collect the protagonists into your party you can switch whose story you are playing through at any time within your one save file.

that's your fault for posting about in here I'll have you know. turned out to be my favorite fighting game I've played in ages, mechanically

also wizard of legend is out today, it's now the good roguelite

xp not on Switch, but if you haven't, take a look at the fighting systems for Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite (very similar w/2v2 and fluid change outs) and Dragonball FighterZ especially being pretty accessible. Even last year's KOF has single button autocombos as well
(I'm kinda sorta looking forward to Blade Strangers and SNK Heroines as well)

i'll probably give blade strangers a try, it looks kinda trashy but the roster is hilarious. did they ever make more umehara kawase games or is her inclusion just an extremely deep cut?

not really looking for non switch fighters atm and it's sacrilegious to say it but ive never really liked dbz's character designs in general so that's less appealing to me even if it does come to switch

Toriyama’s DQ characters are his best, tbf. DBZ is a quagmire of indistinguishable five-heads and unpleasantly rigid musculature.

Some neat looking games coming out lately, like Don't Starve and Little Nightmares, but the prices seem waaaay too high. The former is $20, but the latter is $30. Again, could better be justified if they weren't significantly more than the same product on other systems (unless I am missing something?).

Ok I went out and bought Hyrule Warriors, have never played a musou before, this game is like delicious button-pressing popcorn.

musou games can be confusing until you figure out that they're really just RTSes where you play as a single unit rather than as the hand of god

Anybody else pick up the Korg Gadget? It's been criticized for missing some features (it does suck that there's no built-in way to export audio) but it's a fun little collection of virtual synths/musical scratch pad.
