The Nintendo Switch

I was a teenager when I started Golden Sun and maybe a young adult when I finished it I don't remember but I liked it and this game made me recall Golden Sun fondly, in particular the rhythm of the core combat mechanic of breaking and bursting reminded me of the Djinn system of unleashing and summoning. I bet this game is reminiscent of things that older people or people with different touchstones from the aughts might think of as more noteworthy but yknow I've never actually played a Final Fantasy other than FF Tactics Advance and uh the weird cartoony one for DS.

ah ok. visually this is very much trying to be FF6 but 2.5d-ized. I haven't seen the combat system yet so I can't speak to that

i like how it looks but the unskippable text and tiresome first attempts at fighting aren't helping

looks solid! the switch is really turning out to be a way more capable performer than i'd expected

lol the audio sounds so wimpy

switch runs a lot of stuff at 900p or adaptive resolution which lets it cheat on its specs a bit

Octopath Traveller demo is gooood (if you read faster than the voice acting)

Golf Story on Thursday

its weird no one seems to have seen or played it yet, pretty much no information released in advance other than the trailer

Golf Story is legit, Earthbound meets GBA Mario Golf. Might be the most Aussie game ever? Crikey!

have also heard good things from multiple sources about steamworld dig 2 so that's in my queue as well

I assumed it was a Terraria type game but apparently it's more like a metroidvania

the first steamworld dig was a real pleasant surprise, might give the sequel a shot

i've only played about 45 minutes or golf story but it's a lot of fun so far - v charming

what am i missing about golf story? i can't find it on amazon or on the gamespot website. am i spelling something wrong or

Oh my god, there's gonna be a Steamworld Dig sequel! I love the first one so much, it might be one of my favorite platformers ever! I've been wishing for a sequel since the second I finished the first one (only flaw was that it seemed too short, imo)

Such an awesome feeling of progression as you gain additional powerups in that game. By the end you are effortlessly bouncing around the mines, practically flying

ordered mine! and zelda and a screen protector. did not get splatoon for some reason.

Splat2n is def not for everyone unlike Zelda/mario but it's a pretty much perfect realization of its concept

As soon as I saw they were in stock on Amazon I loaded all the answers on this thread and ctrl-F’d for the answers to my accessories question. I didn’t get an SD card though because we have those just lying all around the house

i might peel mine off since it got a bit of dust under it somehow and i only use my switch docked or in bed anyway

I have a 6 year old

I'm going to follow all the important internet wisdom of applying it in a steamy room and then letting it cure for 24 hours

golf story is good but not super polished, you can kinda tell its from a first-time studio

i think my biggest complaint with it is the actual golf, the courses are all gimmicky and 9-hole so far. the mario golf games had some realistic, well designed 18-hole courses in addition to the gimmicky ones whereas this game seems to be entirely the latter.

we just got one of this, like literally 5 minutes ago. haven't bought a new system in an AGE. stoked.

Haven't played a life sim since Animal Crossing on GameCube I think and that didn't get nearly as much love from me as Harvest Moon 64 did so I'm excited for Thursday
