yeah, Thanos and Black Bolt were better than OML. I thought OML's healing was a bit too good (no health packs needed unless he dies) but otherwise he was in a good place.

Because I have OML undercovered (no red, argh), I mostly use him for match dmg/dmg sponge and not as an offensive character and get actively pissed if I accidentally transform him until I remember that I can usually spam yellow and black to erase the other team in 2-3 turns.

On a side note, bonus heroes FINALLY gave me a red Phoenix cover and I am very, very quickly falling in love with her all over again.

So I'm getting 3 Dino covers this week from my SHIELD Resupply. Is there any reason at all to roster him? Technically I could probably make the space for him (and put off for another few weeks opening any of my 30+ legendary tokens and using my now 1236 CP, not to mention i want to roster rag, sentry, colossus, and the now 8 4*'s i don't have rostered yet) but afaict he's never used for anything? If I do roster him, can I level him up to a point where it's worth selling him and make something off the whole deal? Any advise?

Also, while I have u guys -- I now only have 9 3*'s left to champ! Beast, Gamora, Psylocke, Spider-Man, Hawkeye (not fully covered yet), Col, Rag and Sentry (last 3 not rostered yet). I guess I'll end up champing them all before I'm even ready to champ 4*'s - my closest 4*'s ready to be champed are Wolv (8 covers), Sam Wilson (8 covers), and Spider-Gwen (6 covers). I think Hawkeye would probably be my priority if I had the covers for him - so assuming not what do you guys think... Beast > Gamora > Psylocke > Spider-Man?

My opinion:

Beast is unambiguously the best of the characters you've ranked due to a cheap spammable blue and a green that hits like a truck when boosted. I like Psylocke more than Gamora but her damage output lags behind in the current game while Gamora can be terrifying if she's the last character standing or tanks a lot of the colors (if she can get a lot of her strike tiles out, her damage output goes from "eh" to "wtf why"). Spider Man is great at what he does and what he does is not rewarded by the current mechanics of the game at all, so even though I have fond memories of him from back in the day, I'd say he's a lower priority unless you get enough covers from him to get some Miles covers out of his champion rewards.

Devil Dinosaur is a trophy. If you don't care about trophies, you don't need to roster/level him. (I care about trophies, which is why I championed Bag-Man this week.) He does have a periodic required event but... eh.

I have bagman covers I'm still not sure what to do with too.

Just out of curiosity: What 4*'s does Bagman give when champed?

Also out of curiosity since I'm nowhere near this point (and can't find the information through googling) what do maxxed 3* champs give when you sell them? Has anyone ever done this like I'm always doing with my 2* champs?

Bag-Man gives 0 4*s, because he's a 2*. It would be a no-brainer to champ him if his champ rewards completely skipped the 3* tier!

Some of these new characters are incredible. I've been running through goon nodes of all stripes and levels with Wasp (lvl 229 5/3/3), Cpt M4rvel (lvl 70 0/4/2) and Agent Coulson (lvl 70 3/3/1) and it is just ABSURD how well they work together:

Wasp creates a strike tile and a protect tile
Using a power triggers Coulson passive and he places a cooldown
Cooldown expiration triggers M4rvel's passive, which buffs the strike and protect
Every time you use Wasp's yellow to buff the tiles, Coulson drops another cooldown
Get enough blue and Wasp creates her own cooldown
Coulson's purple energizes before swapping, so you can use it to get 5 yellow and fire Wasp's tile/strike buff, which will drop another Coulson cooldown

I don't even miss M4rvel's black; it's totally unnecessary. Add in the cooldown bug and every expiration is dropping an extra 1K of damage on the enemy. Take this team into a game where the enemy matches tiles and every time the enemy makes a match of its strongest color, M4rvel gives you 2 yellow.

With Wasp leveled so much higher, she tanks a lot, which saves the squishier characters from everything except AOE powers; Wasp herself doesn't get that banged up because by the time the opposing team can start firing powers, she is usually sitting on a 1.5K protect tile.

If yellow remains highest damage once I level all of them, this is going to be my new default no-5* team.

I've been neglecting leveling my 4 stars for champing my 2 stars, finally; have just Bullseye (l71 currently I think), Cap, and Mag left. It's nice not to waste so many covers now, and the champ level goodies are pretty good.

I've played this daily for the last month (did that VIP thing to try to catch up a little) and you guys are still an echelon above my pay grade

It's being nicer about giving me cards for my few champed characters although I don't have enough good ones to get that enemy-bashing synergy really rolling. Currently using weak ol' Magneto to get a match of over 5 blues, getting Hawkeye to drop a bunch of those quick shot countdown tiles, and throwing the blues to Storm

That combo is basically a DDQ steamroll; you can get all of the 2*/3* nodes relatively easily with that team (don't forget to throw in Hawkeye's red from time to time)

Yeah, even with Storm downed, I had one game where Hawkeye's shots and Magneto's steel hammer all dropped on the same turn and it was delightful

Wasp and 3Blade are boosted in the Prodigal Sun PVE

If you have usable versions of these two, you HAVE to run them together, it is hilarious

At one point, I had 12 strike tiles on the board that were all doing over 1K damage. Then I put out Blade's purple attack tiles. The match was over 2 turns later.

With enough red on the board, you can easily get your match damage up to 11K.

Oh, Peggy is boosted too; each hit of her blue when it resolves lands for 10K

Made curious about the 2011 Warren Ellis Moon Knight series from the card. "Mr. Knight" is a trip. Good stuff, Marvel cross-media promotion actually working for once!

I've come to the conclusion that a lot of the people who are complaining about vaulting preventing them from building competitive rosters aren't in 4* land and aren't playing around with some of the new characters, because there are some ferocious, devastating combos out there among the following:

Wasp
Medusa
Bl4de
4Luke
Coulson
Cpt M4rvel

Is any one of them a self-powering steamroller? Not really. I'd still rather champ any of them over Rulk (maybe not Iceman).

It will come eventually! I didn't start getting a decent roster until I started focusing on the progression awards in PVE rather than PVP; it was a lot of grinding though.

ditto. i've got 26 LT right now i've been saving up and 1500 CP (/20 per CL = an additional 75 CL tokens!). every 3* is rostered except for colossus and all but 7 are champed. every 4* is rostered but 5 (mr.f, venom eddie brock, deadpool, the thing and war machine). i'll hopefully be able to open all these tokens soon and presumably cover at least a couple 4*s (have at least a few btwn 6-8 covers) but it requires so much iso to champ them that i'm not in any kind of rush.

I would love if it'd stop giving me the same 1* card over and over. I can't champ that Spider-Man. Stop giving me the damn cards!

oh yeah, standard tokens suck a lot (unless you manage to get a 3* out of them because they guarantee a bonus 3* pull)

is that true that pulling a 3* from a standard token guarantees a bonus pull? i think i got one today (bonus pull: hawkeye) but just assumed i was super lucky

fwiw i wouldn't bother spending iso on 1*'s - you'll make the transition to 2*'s quickly enough and ultimately you'll just have 1* (juggernaut probs) on your roster

I have no 1* characters to spend iso on, I'm all done with 1*, please stop giving me them entirely

You will need a bunch of ISO to level 2* and 3* characters, which is basically all you should worry about until you have most of them championed. From that standpoint, getting regular little drops of 100 ISO will be very helpful in the long run. Basically IMO anything I can turn into ISO or hero points is A+, I will take it, thank you (leveling 4* characters is FUCKING EXPENSIVE)

I have no 3* characters capable of being champed yet, current 2* champs are:
Storm (classic)
Steve Rogers (Captain America)
Hawkeye (Modern)
Thor (Marvel NOW!)
Wolverine (Astonishing)
Black Widow (original)
Magneto (NOW!)

not optimal, but I make do

just focus on champing 2*s and don't worry about anything else yet; if you have the hero points for it, roster any 3* cover you encounter but don't bother leveling them until you have your 2*s near finished (the general idea being that this focus puts you into the hoard mode necessary to accumulate the ISO to power level a 3* to max once you're ready to move to that tier; also, by that point all of your 2* champss should be giving you regular ISO, HP, command points and 3* cards in addition to any PVE rewards).

The 4* Essential nodes that give a CP as one of 6 rewards in PvE - those are rigged to always give the CP on the 4th attempt, right?

the new 3*s coming out are nice because they give you something to work toward, and also they seem way stronger than the old ones - talking about Thanos and Hawkeye, and I assume the new Starlord. of course, it also means wasting more HP on roster slots...

yellowkid - i also find it tends to be on the 4th try too, so maybe it is rigged / the CP has a "lower" pull rate

it's always on the 4th clear; you will get one on the 2nd and one on the 4th if the sub-board is open for 48 hours instead of 24
