i was hoping we'd hit the 2nd rulk at least :/ guild not active enough imo!

I now have two purple Rulk covers that I will eventually have to sell because I can't get the other colors fast enough

I switched alliances for the civil war (might stay there?) and got 3 Rhulk covers and 3 Spiderwoman covers for progression: we balled super hard. event tokens were nice too. now my Rhulk is 3-5-5 and ready for champing. recently drew the last Cho cover I need for champing too. champed Flaptain the other day & he is fun with OML. 11 champed 4 stars now.

that sounds amazing; are they looking for any new members?

the place to look is on the forum's alliance recruiting page (can link if you like). this alliance was looking for a merc for the civil war, & I bit. my roster is really taking off & I can punch hard now (5 star scaling hasn't really hit me yet since my highest is a 360 OML).

my one warning if you're gonna join another alliance: try to avoid one that requires you use the dumb Line chat app. it's just a hassle.

Bird Strike was generally useless to me so i guess that's a buff

are these super lightning rounds new? they're pretty cool - only like 20 ppl in them. i just finished #1 overall in one and scored 2 Fight and Flight tokens. (sadly got nothing too special out of them)

They had them way back in the day, they're so old they're new.

just staying in the top 100 for the The Hunt: Florida is requiring a herculean amount of grinding - i'm currently ranked #78 and i've practically had to clear the entire Hunt progression to get there.

the grind gets more fun as you build a better roster though

generally have given up on competing, just in it to get shiny new cards every so often

I really hate that I keep forgetting that doing the last mission in the Dr Strange sub-events closes the event off to you

I was in the Maggia sub-event, did my 4 clears on all of the other nodes except the Mordo one (because I don't have him) (bite me, RNG), did the last single-play node, got booted back out to the boss fight/sub-event screen with the Maggia node marked as completed.

The node but return to the main PVE page and you should still be able to access

My point is that I still had clears in the Maggia node I wanted to do later tonight closer to expiration time and I inadvertently locked myself out of it.

I can still access mine and I did the final boss

champed my red hulk yesterday, that's my 12th 4 star champed. he is amazing, a tank that steals and self-propels toward a big team blast. I had an extra cover so I got a LT & drew an Iceman! now 4-4-1. getting closer...

also drew another 4 Cyclops cover, at 5-4-3 now. I'm thinking about buying the last cover for 120cp, since he's a top 3 4 star.

took my 3 Strange to 153 today, at 2-5-5, thinking about spending 20cp to get the last cover so that I can champ and then use the extra yellows I'm getting in the PVE. it'll be another LT. & he seems legit strong, with that yellow in particular, even for a 3 star.

Dr Strange is a BEAST, I love him

I've been running OML/Falcap/3Strange and just annihilating goon nodes simply by putting out strike tiles and then tanking with OML. When I want to start buffing, I burn yellow on Falcap's shields and then start matching blue, which both makes me invulnerable and makes the strikes that much scarier and Strange's passive that much stronger. It's glorious, I just wish we could have 4 characters selected so I could put 4* Captain Marvel in there, too.

yeah 4 Cap Marvel seems amazing, but I only have 1 cover of her so far.

I have drawn a dumb number of Spider Woman covers lately, can take her to 250 now, but she doesn't seem amazing to me.

I need ISO so badly right now, it's a good thing buying it with real ca$h is so absurdly overpriced

also yeah I champed Falcap and he's so fun, especially buffed, and especially especially when OML tanks for him. OML + Falcap + IW is a NICE team.

Spider Woman is getting a lot of PvE love on the forums for her black ability, which I have to say is pretty great even when undercovered.

nice, I'll have to look at that. I have it at 5 but haven't leveled her past 70 yet.

If you have the ISO the champ him, this is one of the better opportunities to spend 120 CP. 4* Cyclops is amazing -- it's really between him and Icey IMO as best individual 4*.

do you not consider Peggy to be a standalone character?

Oh, I forgot about her! She's only ("only") 5/3/4, so I don't use her much.

I only have 3 of the top 10 champed. But Cyclops will be next. I can champ my Cho too, he's at 250 but fully covered. After that, I have Prof X, Spider Woman, and Thing at 12/13 covers (and Electra at 13/13 but blah). With an near-term daily reward my War Machine will be at 12/13 covers too. I just need ISO!

I have Thoress at 5/3/5 but not enough ISO to champ; I need to recycle some of my maxed 2*s before I really focus on saving ISO to champ her. My next closest in the top 10 are Quake (3/3/5), Cyke (5/1/5) and HB (5/4/2)

dr. strange (3*) is so good. i don't even have him fully covered yet and he's still dominating pve nodes.

I just champed 3* Dr Strange and am basically hiding him behind OML and letting the goons kill themselves. It's kind of incredible.

I'll champ him tonight. I'm at 164. It took two days to go from level 40 to level 164! 3 star land is so calm...

i've gotten a lot of mileage out of dr strange / indestructible hulk / lazythor. dr strange just constantly destroys them and when one countdown does go thru i make sure hulk absorbs it so i end up finishing matches off a lot w/ a big call the storm.

btw who do u guys like more between these 3*'s: punisher, daken, gamora, mystique? i've got covers for all 4 (most for daken in case that's a tiebreaker)

In terms of how much I like them, I'd say:

Mystique

In terms of actual usefulness when played correctly, they're probably:

Daken
Mystique
Gamora
Punisher

I like 3Pun a lot but the game has outgrown his damage output and his most useful skill (green) blows up the board and often kills any strike/attack tiles he may already have out from previous uses of black/green. Also, the countdown from black will often get matched away before it can create any strike tiles. Red can be glorious against high HP enemies but it involves 3Pun surviving long enough to use it, which is not a guarantee.

Gamora is somewhat lackluster unless you can either get her tanking a lot of colors or have her relatively undamaged as the last character standing; at that point, she creates so many strike tiles that she turns into a monster but the problem is that getting to that point either means your other characters are dead or she is super beaten up from taking damage.

A lot of people don't use Mystique but her purple stun into her black nuke can generate a ludicrous amount of damage, especially when she's buffed. Also she can ruin the board for a lot of high damage enemies by overwriting red/green with black/purple.

Daken's true healing is fantastic and the free strike tiles he makes off of green matches will add up over time; I undervalue his blue and don't use it all that much, especially since I often use him with characters whose strike tiles I don't want taken away (R&G and OML, in particular) but it can be a good chunk of damage.

Generally agreed with that listing. Miss the days when 3* Pun was more viable

In a practical sense, I agree with each of the #1s DJP lists; I remember the days when I ran Mystique, Daken, and Patch: Stock up on black and purple, use her purple to stun one character, Berserker Rage (and hopefully Mystique's purple tile crowds out one enemy strike), then bring the hammer down with her black -- 10K+ unboosted damage right there. (And maybe her blue can cascade some of the enemy strikes away too -- I never tried that though). This trio is obviously slow, and you'll be using a lot of health packs on Mystique, but if you're playing PVP or something and one enemy is just a tank of health, they're a good combo.

I never use Gamora anymore unless I have to. Same with Lil Frank; the one remaining good thing about him is that he gives Max Frank covers.

And DJP: you should use Daken's blue with OML! He'll just spam new tiles!
