Rly disappointed with Mini Metro. It's so well designed that it seems like it would have a lot of depth, but it's p superficial. There are too many weird variables and too few constants to make it legit urban planny, which is fine, but then why make it ostensibly a transit-building game?

Like to win you have to build strange patterns that would be wildly impractical for an actual subway system and my brain is just like "NO YOU CANNOT POSSIBLY BUILD TRAINS LIKE THAT!!!!!"

It's just a puzzle game! Are you expecting railroad tycoon?

I mean vaguely? Like maybe something a little more transity and a little less totally-arbitrary-shapes-mover?

Also why are there like 20 levels when they are all virtually identical? Like if everything is generated as randomly as it is, it doesn't make much diff where the rivers. You can take identical approaches to every damn level.

aw man if you know the cities it's cool to play their different maps, at least it is for me. plus the rates of growth of new nodes and of distances between nodes varies with the cities. and some cities have different types of trains too.

also I live in Paris and the métro map here is weirder than any one I've concocted in the game yet

xp I've actually ridden abt half of the systems in this game and yeah it is p fun and novel at first. I didn't realize stuff spawned at diff rates and distances on diff levels, it all seems the same so far.

Isn't the game more of a bus line simulator than trains? I think the Waypoint guys were talking to some urban planners about this a coupla months ago

Love/hating Really Bad Chess Now. Like it but I reach a level and I get impatient thinking about potential moves and just lose.

Still stuck on the black coins in the later levels. Moved on to Rally mode, which is fun...

Really Bad Chess is easy when you can just trade down to victory. When the non-pawns become equal it gets harder.

Puzzle House: Mystery Rising is a good knockoff of The Room series.

Soda Dungeon is still on my phone because of a fascination with what else could possibly be in the game, and also because of how ludologically insipid it is. Stuff like the Tower of Fortune series - a transparent slot machine mechanic upon which a vaguely creepy, low-res monochromatic dungeon crawl has been lovingly welded - actually has way more shit going on than this fucking thing does. It's literally outfit some bozos (there are technically 10 types of bozos I think, less than half of which are any good) with some gear (quite frankly, gear becomes moot very early on, but it's "fun" to pretend)

It's kind of difficult to believe there is more content, having so much stuff repeatedly thrown at me already - and yet I'm still chipping away at it; 99.9% of the time I just outfit a bunch of suckers and let them crawl to their doom on auto, then sell the crap they died collecting for me, go get more dakka from the relic shop, and wonder how many different cognitive gaps in the human mind I'm illustrating by not deleting this goofy-ass ad clicker.

No. Not if you have any healers in your party. If you do, she'll only take damage from healing spells, and it takes FOREVER. She exists as a way of making sure you can't steamroll on auto all the way to level 700. Good idea. I can run a Knight/Mage/Healer/Mage/Thief all the way up to level 499 without touching anything, then I have to pick up the thing and micromanage the shit out of everybody for like 10 minutes? WHAT KIND OF GAME IS THIS A FLIGHT SIMULATOR

Yes. They're great, like 80 Days but not as hyped. They're a lot more fun if you discipline yourself not to use the rewind option, IMO. Books: better with permadeath!
