Just because I want to share the jargon:

I pulled a(nother) green Cho for my 5/3/4 (plus a 3/0/0 dupe), so now I'm in a race to get 120 CP by 12/22. I'll have over 50 by the end of today, so with PVE and champion rewards, 70 more CP over 11 days should be doable, especially if I start playing PVP to 575.

My Cho is 5-3-4 too!

I drew another green Venom today; mine's at 5-1-1 and that's like the 4th wasted green I've pulled. I coulda duped but he's not very good.

Can I just say Professor X is hilarious? I just had an hour long Best Friends match where I let Thing/Kingpin tear down my sacrificial Phoenix and kept Prof invisible the entire match, slowly buffing protect tiles and chipping away at their boosted 30K health. At the end, I won with Prof X having taken about 500 points of damage and a 16.5K protect tile on the board.

Is your Prof champed? Is it worth doing?

He is lvl 168 3/2/3. I plan on champing him because throwing out a bunch of special tiles on a match-5 and then crazy buffing them with every match after going invisible seems like something I would want to champion, regardless of how you have to gimp him to make Winfinite combos work.

Oh wait, it's dmg blast per match-5, special tiles per teammate/team-up power invocation

Regardless, he is hilarious

got mine at i think lvl 188, 5/2/2, running him with match5 generators (i think charlies angels mentioned above) is indeed hilarious

i just opened 45 sweet tokens i got:

9x 500 iso, 6x 1000 iso, 1500 iso, 5000 iso, 5x 2* magneto, 3* rocket & groot, 3* storm, 2x 250 hero points, 2* thor, 3* luke cage, 2* storm, 3* daken, 2x 5 health packs, 10 health packs, 2x 2* daken, 2x 2* steve rogers, 2* human torch, 2* hawkeye, 3* magneto, 2x 2* black widow, 3* ragnarok, 2* ares, & 3* mystique

sadly no 1000 hero points, legendary token, miles morales or spider-gwen. also sadly did not get any of the 2* covers the fishing trip was an expedition for - 1x yellow Ares cover and 2x blue storm covers.

anyway, that comes out to a total of 7000 iso and except for the Ares, Storms, Rocket & Grott and Ragnarok all covers i can use

Whoa Mordy why is your Hood 5-4-4? His raison d'être is Dormammu's Aid (his blue passive). Whether you 5 Twin Pistols or the black is personal preference but you gotta 5 that blue.

oh ok - i rarely use him, probably bc he's so ineffective as currently spec'd. thank you for looking and correcting me tho! i really should go through the faqs or whatever and get the right specs for everyone

Your Hulk and IM40 are a bit weird too: Hulk's black is his best, 5 loads the board with green and makes him solid on defense. His red is garbage. IM40, i would 5 red rather than blue but try to avoid using both. His yellow is top shelf (on offense at least).

Would recommend 3-5-5 for Daredevil and Steve Rogers too.

One more and I'll shut up: 5-3-5 for Kamela Khan

i've also got 200k iso so even if i save enough to champ ares + storm when they're ready i could still probably champ another 3 star in the next week. i have an extra loki cover, doom cover, 2x captain marvel covers, & human torch cover -- so if any of those look champable they could be good choices - or if you see another 13 cover one i have that would be a great champ.

i also have 425 stars if you see like a 4-star cover you think would benefit from those...

People swear by Captain Marvel but I find her boring. Loki is an immediate champion IMO just because him + CMags is still excellent (3 board shakes, 2 nukes, a strike/protect steal, an AP steal and a protect generator with all colors covered)

looking at your roster, I'd prioritize 3* champs as:

Loki (must have to pair with CMags)
Patch (deadly 3rd for Loki/CMags)
Blade (Thirst/Keep Yr Enemies Closer synergy is A+)
Vision (his blue, esp when boosted, is terrifying now as long as he's tanking colors)
3* Torch (black is great if you exhausted your other colors before firing it and his red nuke refunds AP)
Doc Ock (super situational, but in those situations he is mad mad helpful)
Doom (if you can get enough of his traps on the board, he can one-shot practically anyone)
Mystique (Shapeshift/Masterstroke synergy is A+)
Captain Marvel (if you can get her generating red, she can spam Photonic Blasts, making protect tiles irrelevant and triggering team passives like Kamala Khan's heal, or Prof X's special tile generation)

hmm... i still haven't even tried loki/mags yet. just been romping with patch and daken.

The thing with Loki/CMags is that once you start firing off Illusion, you tend to get enough AP back from post-shuffle matches to use either of CMags' board-shaking nukes (which may also give you back AP due to post-shake matches) or enough purple to use Illusion again. More often than not, you'll be able to kill 2 of the opposing team before they can make their next match. You can maximize this by doing CMags' red first to clear out teamups and give you more tiles to swap with Illusion (plus the nuke dmg which grows with the number of teamups you're blowing up), which will eventually feed into another red bomb or CMags' blue bomb.

Like, have you ever played a CMags/Loki team and thought the computer was cheating because they seemed to have an endless supply of AP to fire off those nukes over and over again? THEY DIDN'T, that's just how those powers work together.

Loki I use with Patch/Daken. Patch because giant strikes tiles and giant protect tiles, and Daken is to mostly tank for Loki.

Your Hulk should definitely be 5/3/5 -- like Euler said, his red is garbage. And 5 black is necessary for Hulk Bombing with Patch: put out BR, let Hulk get hit, see a billion Anger tiles form on the board which resolve into green cascades, repeat. Obviously takes a lot of health packs, but lol HULK BOMB.

Scarlet Witch should have 5 in blue. Whether you have 5 in green or purple depends on her teammates; if you've got her with Deadpool, then I'd go 5 green with her, otherwise Reality Crush is intense (AOE damage + 5(!) turn stun).

2* Hawkeye should be 3/5/5, team him with 2* Storm and 2* Mags for hilarity. (Oops, just saw your roster, you'll need Storm to have 5 blue for that combo.)

yeah - i used that hawkeye/storm/mags combo a lot but i've since cycled through storm once and sold her so now i'm trying to champ her again

just got 2 vision covers from the versus. if i can scrounge up enough iso after champing loki (ie within the next 2 weeks) general agreement vision should be the next to champ? (i'd do blade next but i had to sell the extra cover i had for him so no rush now). vision always seemed kinda worthless to me as a character?? but i defer to all ur experience.

He now becomes insane on offense when you use his blue, particularly when he is buffed.

Vision is fun teamed with characters who have triggered passives (Kamala Khan, OML) or who need countdown tiles to improve their abilities (Starlord). His blue -> red is good too.

I'm not enjoying using Bullseye in the current PVP (even at l300 or whatever buffed) because his being fun is dependent on having strike or protect tiles out there to destroy with his purple, especially when that triggers his black passive. But I'm not seeing much of that. I hit the requisite 575 for the 10 command points and think I won't bother going for 900 (my Drax is way undercovered & I don't care very much).

how do you even get to 900? i can almost never even get up to 800. by the time i'm at around 725 i start getting attacked and losing points throughout every battle that i win, and the battles themselves are harder and drain my health packs. i think maybe i got up to 800 once ever.

mordy it'll slowly get easier as your roster gets stronger

my roster's somewhat more built up than yours, in particular with 4 and 5 stars, and they let you win just enough faster in that crucial 800-900 stretch to make it. granted I don't always try, it's kinda stressful and I've failed numerous times as well. lots of players use shields near 800 or whatever their goal is minus 100, queue up three doable targets, and hit them fast enough that the inevitable losses don't line up until after you've hit your goal. but it's not easy for me either.

Bullseye is fun! I use him in waves a lot, and every day in Big Enchilada with Beast and Psylocke. That way, I have all color coverage, and a couple different ways to get cheap special tiles out. (3* Magneto, Daken, Fist, Cage, etc. all work well with Bullseye at least in providing automatic/cheap tiles.)

PVPs (including Lightning Rounds) (!!!!!) give you XP now, Nhex! At least hit the seed teams!

do you guys really spend hero points on shields and stuff and not just on new roster spots? is it because you already have all the roster spots you need to roster every char?

The short answer is that someone still building up a 3* roster should definitely only spend on roster spots.

Some people spend on PVP shields to help reach 900 or 1200, but reaching those point tiers requires a mature roster. Other people (like me!) spend on extra vault pulls -- thanks to ad and champion rewards, I have a surplus of HP.

Despite hardly ever playing PVP, I only get the dummy seed teams about half the time

sometimes i get multiple rounds of dummy seeds - like right now in the vision pvp

I think the number of seed teams you get depends on how early you sign into the PVP.

Thanos event basically useless if you don't have any GoG chars.

I got a 5 Thanos! Beat Thanos with my champed Starlord for the legendary and got a purple Thanos cover

Waaaah my 5*s are still pretty much useless, the Purple Reign token merely gave me another 4* Ghost Rider to add a champion level to (to go with my 15 other 4* champs).
