A PS4 Thread: Because You Had to Play "Knack"

i found it boring graphically, the horrible weapons interfaces etc etc.

witcher 3 is way ahead of all this shit in terms of sheer joy. like one of my big wow moments early on it was just rowing a boat across a lake and it started to rain, and the motion of the boat on the water plus amazing sound design for the rain - not really seeing that depth in anything else i've played since getting a ps4.

definitely going to actually finish this now after this thread - i've killed enough bandits, the main quest awaits.

I gave up on Witcher 3 like a year ago after about 20 hours investment. Just wasn't clicking for me. Started a new game last night tho. Y'all got me.

im worried im a little too advanced in the main story, i want to go back and start cleaning up side quests i think

this is why i haven't gotten very far i can't pass these up ever

The tack I've ultimately settled on for any big game is to do as many of the side jobs as possible before progressing with the main story. Because the side stuff just feels like a mop-up job after I've completed some epic task.

yeah thats what i've realized -- i would normally skip them at this point because the loot wont be any good but otoh they're usually so well done that it might be fun to play through them with low stakes

I was going to play my batman game last night but again... why the hell does the riddler want me to complete weird racetracks in the batmobile

I'd shelve that quest indefinitely but as you unlock pieces you get to play as Catwoman, which is fun

want to play Witcher 3... but Witcher 1 and 2 are in the backlog

Yeah, Knack was really bad for a launch game.

Got it for my six year old who loves it but compared to something like Ratchet and Clank or the Lego games, it's so boring and repetitive.

This newest slate of announcements is the first real inducement I've had to consider maybe possibly investing in a PS4 sometime within the next five years or so.

my ps3 has been sitting on the floor next to the television since I bought a ps4

I just recently bought a protection plan for my PS3, ensuring I'll be firmly last gen for most of the remainder of this decade.

just realised that the ps3 is now just over 10 years old and that i now have a backlog of unplayed games which spans multiple console generations

I have a copy of that that I still have to play - which is ridiculous because SMG is one of the best games I've ever played and I've mostly heard that the sequel is better.

And yet I'm worse on the other systems - vis my question here is: if I get a PS4 to catch up on a generation of games, will it be able to play the generation of PS3 games that I didn't play either?

i mean like i can't actually remember if i beat it, i had some nice memories but they're all vague and cloudy.

i remember it being super grindy but that may be how i played it. i know i didn't last more than a few days.
