At some point I decided to stop spending ISO until I could either a) max a character or b) buff the required 4* for DDQ to the point where I could easily win

After blowing through a couple of SHIELD levels and recycling some 2*s so I could rebuild them, I was sitting on a max of about 260K; I just recently rechamped CStorm and threw 100K at Jean to get her to 240 to see if that would affect her health in Balance of Power (it didn't) and am now hovering around 100K.

This feels like a drastically different game now that I'm not paralyzed due to lack of ISO.

IW buff doesn't roll out till tomorrow with the new season. (Also, that's when Dr. Strang3 gets added to tokens, which is why I have 27 Heroics and 8 Elites hoarded.)

I guess I'll champ her? I've had her at max covers for probably two years.

one thing that would be really, really nice would be if there was an option to share covers with members of your alliance

like if you are building a 4* and you have maxed out a power but you keep pulling that cover to the exclusion of the others, if there was an option to toss that out to the alliance or someone in the alliance rather than just selling it or letting it expire

OR if you could pay ISO/hero points to transform a cover from one color to another, that would also be nice

signed, someone who is trying to rebuild 2* Bullseye and is stuck at 5-5-1 with no green covers in sight, who also ran into this when rebuilding 2* Johnny Storm but luckily grabbed that final black cover before the three reds that accumulated expired

That would be great for players! But would totally tank impulse purchases.

this is why I could never work on a freemium game, I'd be too inclined to actually make it work rather than intentionally break it so ppl have to pay to progress

i am at 5/1/3 deadpool and have already torched one red, and didn't open the deadpool vault because there was only a red, so i guess they lost a lil bit of money there

same here, I just need a purple to max xfdp (at 5-2-5). have one red in my rewards queue now & I just got a 3 star dp that will give me ANOTHER red xfdp.

I'm saving cps to buy that last cover, on leeeeeeeee's advice, but it'll be a while, probably too long to use at least the first of those extra xfdp covers.

ack i've gotta stop opening heroic packs bc they keep giving me 4* chars I don't have spots for. i just drew a 4* jean grey (purple cover). so now i have 1 cover each of iceman (expires in 4 days), ghost rider (9 days), cyclops (12 days) and jean grey (14 days).

i've been saving up deadpool tokens and i have 20 savory tokens and the current vault has a yellow invisible woman which iirc can be used to beat the 4* challenge when it comes up (and i have a iw cover already and it just got buffed?) -- what do u guys think, should i spend them all and try to get them (with the risk that i have less than zero spots in case i draw the miles)

lol Mordy I've stopped opening tokens too, not for roster-space reasons but because I've got quite a few 13-cover 4*s without the ISO to champ them.

Elite: 10
Heroic: 26
Legendary: 2
Savory: 16
Sweet: 71

To your actual questions: In your situation, Iceman, Cyclops, and Jean are among the best 4*s, you should try to accommodate them on your roster. The GR cover is expendable, sell it for sweet ISO.

I'd sell off:
DD
Howard
Carnage

DD and Howard are both gimmicky 4*s and their covers are only available at certain times during the year. Between the two of them, Howard does have more useful powers, but compared to Iceman, Cyclops, or Jean? He's definitely not worth keeping in a roster crunch. Carnage is probably expendable for you too (he used to be useful as a PVP scarecrow, but I've heard that's not the case anymore).

Keep Star-Lord. He's pretty good now as an AP accelerator.

Lastly, I would not open your tacos right now -- with only 20 banked, the odds of getting that yellow IW are very remote. (I believe the number of tacos you should hoard should be around 80-100 if you want a better than 50/50 chance of nabbing a specific cover from your vault.)

This is something dumb that I should know but: if I hoard taco tokens will they be used for the same vault I have now? Because my current vault has 2 four stars I don't care about presently.

hang onto them, when there's a new vault you can use those tokens on, you can shoot for the new pack of 4*s. just spend em when the vault is active (if it's in the stockpiled mode, it's straight random and i think includes the last pack of 4*s)

Same here. Right now I've got Bullseye, Beast, Colossus and Gamora, with 11-14 days to make the ISO to champ them.
Any suggestions for how I should prioritize them, considering I might not earn enough to do all 4?

I assume you're talking 3*s?

My first thought would be this priority list:

Bullseye > Beast > Gamora > Colossus

Bullseye in particular can be hilarious if you pair him with someone who buffs special tiles and you use him to deliver death blows; you can flood the board with strike tiles surprisingly quickly, which will also power his purple and make it more likely you can continue flooding the board with strike tiles

Beast is great when buffed, mediocre unbuffed

As I understand it, Gamora is a good support character but I personally find her useless

I love the concept of Colossus and sometimes his yellow tank power is helpful for shielding fragile damage bombers but ultimately his powers are too expensive to rely upon

I'd like Colossus a lot more if his protect power was blue or red so I could pair him with a glass cannon and IM40. Are there even any yellow-generating characters?

(of course if you're using Kingpin I don't see using the generated yellow to power Colossus)

2 and 3 Thor also kind of generates yellow, but not reliably. 4* Cyclops might generate yellow, but that'd be kind of pointless.

Dan, how do you like the buffed IW? Have you had a chance to flex her new muscles yet?

She isn't essential yet BUT she is much, much more useful than she used to be. Her powers now make sense; her yellow can give a brief respite to your entire team and her blue/green combo now goes after opponents' special tiles in a much more predictable manner than before AND gives you strike tiles to boot.

I drew my first OML red yesterday! now 2-2-1, with the black daily reward coming soon. he is now usable!

I will say this: the new IW is a gigantic PITA for an underpowered Quake to take down by herself

My Quake is 2/2/4, and I leveled her to 168, and I beat IW in two (undramatic) tries with a bunch of damage boosts.

Hmm. Mine is 3/2/3 lvl 168 and I could barely get her down to 50%.

+50% green, +50% blue, +100% all.

My General strategy:
* First priority is to deny green. Blue is a secondary color to deny.
* Save Quake's blue for getting rid of IW's strikes or invisibility tiles. If that doesn't get rid of them, Quake's green will be a last-ditch effort to match them away.
* You're smarter than the AI, so make smarter matches.

lol I actually switched to those dmg boosts to see if that was my downfall and got it on my 3rd attempt

FYI, after complaining to CS about getting a 6th green Phoenix for my 5/0/5, they said that they'd only change the color of the queued 5* cover if the character comes from a Latest pull.

what do ppl think of Medusa?

I think that I want one (and so am grinding semi-seriously in the current pve)

Her purple at higher levels looks super rad.

just opened my 10-pack - all 2 stars and a 3 star cyclops (tho i needed a few of those 2 stars so not too terrible).

advice time!

i have 3 3* chars ready to be champed but reasonably only enough iso for one of them. cyclops i have 5 extra covers for that i could use after he's champed. captain marvel i have 2. blade i have 2. what do you guys think? thinking it's between cyclops + blade - and maybe cyclops just edges it out because he has so many more covers to use?
