Evidently a Animal Crossing game is coming out in the fall? Certainly wouldn't have the cult following, but there is some nostalgia.

Is Pokemon not a Nintendo property? I was thinking this would use the same Nintendo account as that Miitomo thing but it wasn't an option.

...and thinking thru what this experience will be like as it gets established. all fremium games come down to some kind of grind/farm cycle that you can buy your way out of. i guess this on is, keeping control of gyms, up to 10. so the grind is going to be doing some kind of daily walk to your ~10 locations and battling? man who is going to do that. in the winter?

and that's me erasing my account. bummer, i wanted to play with this a bit but full google account access + battery drain + stranger danger ends that.

What is stopping you from creating a Google account with none of your actual personal information connected to it and using that?

will i be able to star my favorite pokemon in this?

having more than one google account is madness, that would be like having more than one ilx login

google/android can get pretty weird on your phone w/ more than 1 google acct. i have an extra gmail for non-personal stuff and some of the contacts and logins etc can be surprisingly confused as to 'who' i really am. it's not the end of the world, just saying.

they need the equivalent of www.ilxor.com/ilxor.com

but... you don't need to sign into that other account on your phone, just use the credentials to connect to the game? I'm not sure why your phone would need to know anything about what Google account you've used to connect to your phone (caveat: I'm connecting with an Apple device that asked me to input my Google name and password explicitly and I am assuming an Android device would do something similar)

I guess in the same sense that practically everything we employ to distract us from our impending mortality is a pointless POS. It's a POS I don't personally see the point in (I prefer asocial and indoor POS games) but I'm glad that this particular POS is making so many other people happy.

xp to ste: only in that you have to go outside with a gps. the closest approximation is the pokestops/portals, but they're just arbitrary sites and don't have a physical container full of toys or anything. the pokemon appear all over the place, but they can appear more often around those pokestops if someone has lit a virtual flare under them (and even then they're not locked to a specific point, you can walk up the street and the pokemon sort of drifts along with you).
