I can't even remember the last time i got a ten pack. it sounds so luxurious

the simulator is a godsend re: getting the 10-pack, esp if you have a diverse enough roster that you can cycle through to avoid using health packs

i really really really really want a howard the duck cover

I almost exclusively use one team in Simulator: Loki/Daken/Patch. Once in a while I'll change it up, but that team probably accounts for 1800 points.

i've been using BP/GSBW/2* Storm just bc it's hilarious

howard the duck seems annoying, I dunno, enjoying the new pve anyway just b/c NEW DIALOGUE. they should let alliances write pves we could do a great one I'm sure

the new ones are a lot better than the old ones - reading the Captain America dialogue in "Unstable ISO-8" still makes me cringe

I've read that you can get a Howard cover in the final sub-mission, haven't been able to see for myself though.

I can report that this is, in fact, true (signed, the owner of a single solitary purple Howard cover)

I was able to demolish that node with Patch/Loki/CMags

I haven't championed any of those guys yet :/

Do you have 3* Spidey? His stun may help you slow down the pileup of damage enough to get through, plus his heal can save you if things go wrong

Patch/Loki/CMags at 134 might get steamrolled before they can really get going but is still worth a shot since their play synergy is all about Loki boardshaking into cascades that fuel CMags nukes, which lead to boardshakes and cascades on their own, with Patch tanking incidental damage and throwing out strike tiles to hurt the enemy more (with Loki flipping the enemy ones to protect tiles for you and CMags using his yellow to flood the board with protect tiles, both of which slow incoming damage outside of special attacks to a crawl).

Barring that, Spidey is still worth a shot since he's boosted; maybe with Cyke and KK?

Another first run winner. Lazy daken, iron fist, luke cage are hard to beat.

Anyone try Howard + Patch? Cast Howard's purple before casting Patch's Green?

I have been solidly within the top 10 of both the Howard and FatCap PVP events; I hope timing works out so I can push to win at least one of them and get an extra 4* card

a bit late, but i easily first-tried that howard the duck card thing with fatcap/im40/iron fist, just rushed for yellow/black at the beginning (to get lots of AP + turn iron fist into super saiyan), then p much just threw boomerang shields the rest fo the match (peppered with more recharges, IF purple, IF green)

Howard's green should go well with 3* Mags's red and 4* Wolverine's black. It's nice that Howard's green and purple are both decent with just one cover.

IM40/FatCap is a patently unfair teamup that is only mitigated by the AI playing the combo terribly

I hit 1000 in the cap pvp today for the Jean purple (now 4-3-2, getting there). Didn't shield afterwards and ending at 500.

FYI today's 4* DDQ is pretty easy if you have at least one purple cover; just make sure to deny green.

Guess I'm gonna finally sell Yelena for the space to put Howard in my roster...

Good, though you should know that the award for winning it today is a green Howard.

It's not THAT easy building up purple and denying green when he can still one shot you

Ah I sucked it up and bought the boosts I needed. Victory!

I lost six times in a row, the lowest I got him was like 8500, and said fuck it. even wasted some boosts. he just kept getting too much green through cascades and lucky drops.

got him under 3K once but... same story

I've had a Green Goblin cover in my queue for 5 days, and the crawl up to 1000 HP feels so agonizingly slow.

i need some advice:

my roster is: howard**** doc ock***, sam wilson***, gamora***, juggernaut*, kamala khan***, ares**, steve rogers**, bullseye**, iron man*, storm*, captain marvel**, thor**, moonstone**, storm**, daken**, hawkeye**, spider-man*.

covers in storage: human torch**, im40***, beast***, the hood***, steve rodgers***, wolverine**, black widow**, and deadpool***.

i have one roster spot available. i'm thinking i can probably delete one of my 1 stars since i only need 3 for the deadpool challenge? but even then only 2 spots and 8 covers that need to be added to the roster. (i'm trying to grind hero points and maybe should note that wolverine, human torch, deadpool and black widow expire the soonest from now - in 6 days.) so delete one of the one stars? get rid of any of the 2 stars to make more room?

(thx to DJP for constant PM advice but now i feel guilty bugging him alone when there's a whole thread of ppl to spread the newb handholding around.)

if you have juggernaut at level 40, he's the only 1* you need. today was by far the worst performance i ever had with him in that node, and he was only down to half health when i won

depending on what level those two stars are and how much it'll decimate your ability to play, i would say you can kill
1* - spidey, ironman, storm
2* - two of hawkeye, moonstone, bullseye, steve rogers

then add all of the 3*s (that's 5), and black widow.

you can ignore wolvie since you have 2* thor, i like wolvie but he's the same colors & isn't as good. torch is tempting too, but not necessary if those other 2*s are far beyond him. eventually if you're anything like me you'll be down to 3-4 s*s (3 of them maxed) and one 1*.

ftr my advice was this:

delete 1* Spidey; consider deleting all 1*s except maxed Juggernaut if you really need space

Depending on spot availability, add covers in this order:

3* Steve (the way his damage scales is crazy when compared to the 2* version)
3* IM40 (Once you get him to 5 yellow, he can fuel pretty much any damage-dealing character you have)
2* OBW (arguably the best 2* character)
3* any (except Beast)
2* Torch (purely because of where you are in the game; in the long run, 3* Torch will supercede 2* Torch)
3* Beast (useful in certain situations but not a must-have like Hood and doesn't have an instawin button like Deadpool)
2* Wolverine (still a decent character but kind of irrelevant if you have both Ares and 2* Thor)

You only need one 1* (Juggernaut) for the Deadpool challenge; if your 2* roster is sufficiently leveled (probably above level 60), you can safely sell off the rest of your 1*s.

The 2*s to really keep are Storm and Ares/Thor (they kind of duplicate each other), and maaaaybe Daken (since his healing can save health packs for you); Hawkeye is useful with 2* Magneto or 2* Captain Marvel, but otherwise can be considered a luxury. 2* Steve is also possibly a luxury, even though he'll come in incredibly handy in nodes where goons spam countdown tiles, although 2* Black Widow can do largely the same thing and is in fact an essential character to have.

So: sell Bullseye, 1* Iron Man, 1* Storm, 2* Captain Marvel, Moonstone, Spidey, then maybe one of 2* Hawkeye or 2* Steve. Roster everyone else in your queue except Human Torch.

I would recommend holding onto 2* Hawkeye because his AOE red is great for DDQ and his purple is DEADLY, especially if you can get your hands on 2* Magneto

I still have a bunch of 2*s because I had maxed them when championing was introduced so I've been using them as cover/ISO/hero point batteries but I only ever use the following on DDQ:

ModHawk
CStorm
MagNow
Ares
OBW

The other 2*s are useful when they pop up as required for PvE nodes but in the grand scheme of things, unless you already have them maxed you don't need to worry too much about them.

I would say that 2* Wolvie is useful for a 2* roster -- when Ares and Thor are beat up, he can fill the hole (and heal himself), plus his strike tiles synergize well with OBW.

Agreed on strike tile synergy but the change to his healing to stop him from being competitive with the 3* tier has in practice made him almost useless in the 2* tier. The amount he heals based on a yellow match is almost never enough for him to get out of whatever danger put him in the zone where his healing is triggered and, in my experience, he only lasts one or two extra rounds before dying anyway and doesn't do enough damage (aside from his expensive red) to make an impact in that short amount of time.

OTOH, if you can protect him, his strike tiles can make OBW's black glorious; I've just had a much better experience with Ares being able to recover when things unexpectedly go south since he has three damage powers and is more likely to be able to take someone with him on the way out.
