Champed Scarlet Witch... pulled a fucking Carnage with the Legendary.

Spent 70K to Champion Deadpool... pulled a Yellow Nova. Feel empty inside.

I got a 14th Iceman cover so i'll be leveling him up this week.
also pulled a 5th logan cover. 2/1/2.
the current test event sucks. the levels are crazy high and the enemies are annoying -- damn you kishu and your caltrops all over the board.

Agreed, even my death lineup of IM40/LCap/(Hood|KK) has trouble against some of these nodes.

Iceman vs Jean Grey is kind of easy? Granted, my Iceman is 0/4/1 but he is also only lvl 74 and I beat the node in my 2nd try with +2 blue/purple, +2 all, +100% dmg boosts after taking I think 2 hits of match dmg from Jean? I had her down to 4K health on my first try with no boosts at all.

Yeah, two tries for me, neither time boosted (2/4/1, level 152). I've heard that you could get by the node with a fairly low level, but I figured that I'll be leveling Monster Bobby eventually anyway so I just sank the 40K into him.

Who wanted in on the alliance? I'm ready to kick one or two idlers.

I championed Iceman -- my third 4* champ and by far the best. He's great with Old Man Logan. Now I'm maxing out Beast because I've got 5 of his covers waiting to expire. Beast turned out to be great in survival nodes, who knew?

Cyke 4/2/2 vs. HB was hard but I managed to eke out a win using AP boosts.

I'm leveling Blade so I can champion him; next will be either Deadpool or Mystique (aka the other two cards I have in my queue); just champed SWitch.

I may be ready to start leveling some of my 4s, especially Jean (5/2/1) and Iceman (0/4/1). Also I REALLY wish I'd stop pulling purple jean covers, or that there was a way to turn a cover into a different color.

champed she hulk today, used the cover I'd saved, with < 14 hours left. pulled a 4 star jean gray!

had 20 cps, drew, got a black electra. eh. but 4-4-1 now.

my star lord is getting pretty good (like 4-4-3? something like that). he's buffed in the current pvp & not bad at all. purple + yellow is a nice color combo.

closing in on the 10 pack in season, I didn't play much pvp this season, kinda burned out in that dumb pve, but I'm getting back into the groove

new pvp mmr is brutal for me, though: lots of maxed 4 stars and decent 5 stars already at 100pts. well, I can beat those, but I don't see myself hitting 800+ any time soon. it's ok, current goal is to champ the dumb 3 stars I didn't champ before. next: cap marvel + beast.

also I've been tearing through the shield sim in the last days as usual, with my l345 1-3-2 Silver Surfer; he slices and dices! a 4 in a row blue with a critical tile does 3000+ dam. his red costs 7, does 2700+ dam, and charges 2 tiles, which adds to the damage (or goes with lady thor who despite champing I rarely use, gotta change that).

Hit 2K in the Simulator, got my first Gwen. Incidentally, I'm going to be hitting back on all the retaliations I'm going to get in the next few days, just to farm ISO.

10 pack: kingpin yellow, at 2-0-5. a little frustrating because that ups the likelihood of a wasted cover. But I like the prospect of him being playable. He annoys me as an opponent.

New alliance just tipped me onto a new way of squeezing out a little more ISO from unwanted/unneeded covers. If you have two covers of the same color, start a new character from scratch and then level them up to level 49 -- you'll earn 466 extra ISO than just selling the covers off individually.

2000 (from selling) - 500 * 2 (from covers) - 534 (from leveling)

And if you have three covers of the same color, do the same thing, but level up to 62 to earn an extra 1466.

tips for accumulating hero points for more roster spots? do you guys basically end up rostering every cover you get, or are you choosey?

depends on how far you are. never spend hp on anything else and you can more or less keep up. i'm at the point where i have almost every 3* and a good chunk of the 4* and 5*, and just enough 1/2* to keep me in the DDQ/a rotating spot for the PVE required 2*. actually had to sell one of my 2s yesterday to make room for a 4* (carnage, not v good but i don't throw 4s away as a rule in case they get usable... i'm still on the 3/4 bubble).

Current count for me per rarity (parenth = i don't have):

5*: 3 (2) (the new ones missing... goblin and black spiderman)
4*: 25 (5) (mostly newish ones missing... gwen, pun, fuck-a-duck, nova, quake)
3*: 39 (1) (fucking bullseye)
2*: 4 (10) (my three 94+ are cmags, obw, thor, and i also have one-cover storm for pve)
1*: 1 (7) (my boy jugs is all i need)

the closest i am is my OBW, who is at like... 127? I think? less than 20 more cards and she's maximum maximumed. Then I have to start sellnig her covers again which will be weird!

are the rewards worth it for champing 2 stars if you already have a working 3/4/5 star roster? I throw away a lot of 2 star covers, but I only have four 2 stars left: OBW, Ares, 2 star wolvie (for nostalgia) and 2 star storm.

I draw A LOT of Ms Marvel it seems

my problem is that i have no free spots but i have the following covers i need to recruit: 3x captain marvel, 1x ares, 1x doc octopus, 1x sam wilson, 1x howard the duck, 1x bullseye, 2x steve rodgers, and 1x wolverine. even when i get to 400 hero points (i'm at 275) that'll only give me 3 slots and i need 8. should i just spent a few bucks or are some of these totally worthless and not worth rostering? :/

Someone ran the math and you get back all of the ISO you spend on 2* and 3* champions plus extra hero points, tokens, and legendary points, so my strategy has been "champion everyone, no exceptions"

how does that work? once you max out a character you get more rewards?
