I championed 2* Storm and OBW with my extra HP... and now can't draw a cover for either of them to save my life.

Buffed Bullseye's black power is pretty insane in the current PvE.

The 2* champion rewards stink compared to the 3* rewards. The upside is that it's easy to get 2* covers. If I could do it again, I'd put off championing 2*s until after I did all my other characters.

I've been using 3* Bullseye too. He's great in survival mode and his green is a lot of fun.

agree but for those of us in the transition phase who have maxed all relevant 2* but have not yet maxed any 3* it's not all bad

Finally beat buffed Cmags with 309 health left; managed to get just enough yellow to call in the Avengers to save my ass

Wondering if I should bother leveling my L.141 Invisible Woman (1/4/5) for her DDQ level next week.
Also kills me that I have 2 Falcon cards I can't use to Champion, as my Falcon is around L.121 (need 85K+ ISO to 166 him), same will be the case with the upcoming Bullseye.
Maybe I can get Kamela to 166 in two weeks. Decisions decisions.

I beat the DDQ with what was then my 115 3/2/1 Invisible Woman, though it took a bunch of tries. You might be able to save your ISO for something else and keep yours at 141.

With your Falcon and Bullseye covers, I've already had to sell a Mohawk, a couple Spidey, and a Bullseye. I know that I'm not going to get all the ISO to level these folks, so I just sell them when they're a few days from expiring just so I don't have to worry about them anymore.

I'm making an effort to get another 55K in ISO within 4 days before my Deadpool cover expires so that I can champion him.

the reason behind "championing" is exactly the panic you're feeling, they want you to BUY BUY BUY
I'm staying unfazed on that end. I'll buy more cover slots if I must but that's where I draw the line.

Grinded my way to the Season XXII Heroic 10-pack. Never had a chance of ever making the 2000pts for SHIELD Simulator.

Got five *** chars out of it, so I'll continue to be grinding ISO to Champion GSBW, Mags, Luke Cage... probably won't 166 Gamora.

I pulled my first Phoenix. Got 2 or 3 Carnages, can't remember. Got an awesome Hulk.

Got a Magneto cover so I championed him and got a Wilson Fisk

Pulled an Iceman from an Enemy of the State token, which is nice because now I can play those nodes. BUT! I need 75 more HP for the roster slot. Still refusing to sell any characters.

Come on, how badly do you need to keep 2* Bullseye on your roster?

I've been considering keeping a rotating 2* slot reserved for whomever the required character for a particular event I'm playing is so I can nuke the ones I have no intention of level capping; seems like a best-of-both-worlds situation as dumping a maxed 2* instead of championing him/her seems like a waste of potential resources.

that makes sense. ironically tho the characters i'd probably sell are ones i maxed, because the ones i use for deadpool aren't maxed (well, cstorm and hawkeye aren't maxed. cmags is. that team is lol, even at 94/50/40 levels.)

Yeah, I sold my 2* Wolverine a few weeks ago (and Ares even earlier before that) because I needed the space and red/yellow/green was already taken care of by Thor.

MagNow/MHawkeye/<random third> are hilariously awesome for DDQ; POLARITY SHIFT/SPEED SHOT FTW

i like cstorm as the third bc it's like "oh by the way if you aren't loled enough by the polarity/speed combo, here have a wind storm lol stop moving

but yeah my next addition (which will no doubt be another random 4* i don't have yet, because those are useful atm) will prob replace wolvie 2*. he was my dude back in my 2* days but now that i have become a firmly 3*-4* man it is time to put away childish things

xp: yeah, championing may make me bump Ares from my 3rd spot for her; I always worry about her low health and Ares is great for "I've taken all the green on the board, have a giant Onslaught nuke"

side note, i've been saving taco tokens since the conversation weeks ago about saving them... just before the savory thing ended, i had like 40, i was like "ooh let's just open 4 for fun" (even though i am planning to save until 50)... second one opened nick fury, didn't open another, felt good

I had over 60 tokens across events and DDQ saved and opened them all once championing went live, with the logic being that anything I couldn't use could be sold to get ISO to champion more characters

currently at 41+52 on DDP tokens. don't know why haven't pulled trigger yet...

Lot of forumites are championing Ares because they say he scales up ridiculously, though I'm not that tempted to re-build him. Also CStorm champions out Mohawk, who champs out Goddess Thor, which is why I'm even thinking about sinking 100K+ ISO in Mohawk. xxxp

v seriously considering this, i'm slowly champing out my 166s as they go on the DDQ right now though, there's been a stretch where it's all ma dudes. i've got stever, big pun and patch over the next ~7, then it's taco time.

Actually I think my next champions is going to be 2* Daken because I've championed 3* and I can pipeline the covers and get to the X-23 covers faster

it's kind of hilarious that so many people soft-capped IM40 at 5/5/2 and then they put Hulkbuster covers on his champion mode

*pfffft* I 166'd IM40 back in the early days and never looked back

ftr I disagree with soft-capping because I don't have time for that level of min-maxing, plus I feel like no one actually gets that the most effective use of IM40 is to Recharge, drain your other AP colors while he's stunned, and then hit his blue/red which will still do just as much damage but not be as expensive overall because you've already used the AP you had in other colors; I've used him to singlehandedly destroy 3* teams, especially when he's buffed; having 3 in Recharge helps you fuel the inevitable green user on your roster who will help tear down opposition while IM40 is stunned and the remaining HP on most 3*s that you'd face will end up so low after the red/blue hammer that you can mop them up in 1-2 turns even if you ignored the AP drain

i definitely get the 552 build, it's what i had for a v long time (due to lack of covers, not intentional) and i do miss the speed, getting 8 yellow took a lot less effort. but yeah, i don't mind now, especially b/c i have good green guys now, which i didn't then.

i was kinda thinking about using the rewards as a way to feed my 4*s (e.g. champ 94 thor, get more 166 thors, get red hulks) but then i realized i would still need ~97 more 3* thor covers to get the third red hulk, lol.

Was thinking something similar and came to the same conclusion. Feels like the aim is to buff up your 3*s so they are usable until you get a competitive 4* team... which will still take quite some time to covermax, even with more opportunities for Legendary tokens.

I guess I'm still the only one out there repping for 5 Yellow in IM40, because I love that ALL COLOR BOOST POWER

That's the conventional wisdom. I disagree, mostly because I think ppl are evaluating him in a vacuum instead of in concert with other characters

I'll be taking IM40 from 5/5/2 to 5/5/3 just for champion rewards. I rarely use him.

The current character to soft-cap the level of is Prof. X, because 3*BW/Scarlet Witch can dictate the AP from his match-5 passive if his level is low enough.

I use the hell out of my 5/5/2 IM40 because I pair him with Lazy Steve to set up the big shield combo, which is incredibly useful in PVE (except seemingly this current one where I cannot get yellow matches quickly enough).

hey i just report the news. that's the rationale.

i only have 2 blue im40 covers so i have no opinion one way or the other and i'm forever thinking of opening up the roster slot.

IMO IM40 gets outgunned by other 3*s like Iron Fist and Luke Cage but was an instrumental transitional character for me, given his damage potential and his stun.
