I'm primarily playing PvE for the command points nodes and to grind ISO so I can level characters; also it's just less stressful because no one is going to sneak up behind you when you aren't shielded and gank your progress.

yeah I gotta get some of those command point, though the alliance has been pretty good for that lately!

yeah, lovin the random whale action for CP. still wondering who was crazy enough to throw down ~$100 around Christmas for the 7CP
unfortunately it's a lot harder to get those CP if you don't have the required 4* for the PVEs. this time it's The Thing which I don't have.
just as well, i'm a little burnt out after going full steam in December, i'm doing the minimum at the moment

I did minimum for a couple of seasons, I got the 10 pack this season for the first time in a while.
waiting to open it until the "champions mode" or whatever is added, gonna be a bunch of two stars anyway.
that article posted yesterday said that they're done with new 2 and 3 stars, not sure what I think about that, since my 4 star collection sucks au moment

i guess it's inevitable for this kind of game. there has to be an infinite supply of incentives, power bloat to keep people hooked

It would have been interesting if, instead of making the lazy versions of character into distinct characters that take up roster space, you could "evolve" your 1 and 2 star characters into their 3/4/5 star versions Pokemon-style

that would be awesome. maybe the champions thing will be a little like that?

i think it will be, like "prestiging" your cards. i expect the cost will get exponentially high, like you need 50 covers or something to boost up another level. or, there will be a cap on how much you can prestige, like the 2*s can only go up to Level 166 or something

If I can boost Juggernaut all the way to 270, lol

I thought I saw that you'd be able to respec on the fly for your champions, which would be cool, especially for like Hood & Blade

pay ISO to go into champion mode on a fully covered character (looks like 5000 ISO for 3*s) which allows free respecs. then each cover gains a level, no iso needed, and you get rewards for each level -- different rewards for every character, lots of CP. max of 50 levels for 2*s and 100 levels for others.

i'll probably go for OBW first. i wonder if any whales will try for level 550 5*s.

it does give me some incentive to max out some of those 2*s like Ares and Ms. Marvel.
sounds like another massive iso sink to distract me from finishing off my 3* roster! makes sense.

I might prioritize Patch and Lazy Daken for this

yeah, this is a smart move. i started saving common cover tokens this week and am up to like 34.

I had 70 including vault tokens but broke and spent a bunch trying to get a Mystique cover (didn't work)

Currently I have 83 standard tokens, 12 heroics, and then 26 other event tokens, with 51 and 19 (I forgot to play one day!) taco tokens.

OBW definitely going to be one of my first champion priorities, I want to love her again, as well as 2* Storm. As for 3*s, Patch, Loki, R&G, Hood, IF, Cage... well, almost all of them, lol.

I can't grind enough to get the legendary token---I don't think? it seems totally unreachable every time.

As for getting the Legendaries in PVE, you just ("just") need to play each node in each sub-mission 3 times (doesn't matter when exactly), and you'll be close enough to getting the token with a final grind on the last day.

hmm... i'll give that a try on the next PVE. too late for this one
basically i've been grinding the 4* nodes and the final node (if i can get that far) for the CP. never came remotely close enough to getting the Legendary reward, though.

the idea of OBW or 2-star Storm with a sensible number of hit points is very appealing (ditto Loki/Hood)

k, they changed the character card interface obviously in antipication of the new Champions thing, but it's turned off, so it's just a blank area at the bottom of the screen. odd

People on the forum were saying that D3 has to make sure that everyone who's playing has downloaded the latest patch first before they turn on championing on the server-side.

... Why? All they need to do is check the version and pop up their "hey dummy, update yr app" message

have they ever forced an app update? i think you can keep running old versions for a while even if they bug you

Also can't buy covers with HP starting tomorrow, but I don't think anyone here does that.

as far as i'm concerned that's great; those were the lamest temptation

i think this is gonna be a big across the board rebalance, which is cool imo

Command Points can be used to purchase Ability Level Upgrades for 3 and 4-Stars (20 and 120 respectively).

it is a bad deal IMO; the chance of a 5* makes legendary tokens much better

maybe. one thing's for sure, i'll actually be completing Deadpool Dailies for the 3* card again...

yeah I'd skipped deadpool daily for a few weeks but then I decided to try to take lady thor (5-3-4) to her level cap & by golly wow that takes a lot of iso.

I like all these changes a lot btw.

Every time you get a 3* to level 167, you get a legendary token. Nice.

Cashed in all my tokens! With all the Legendaries from champing, I pulled the last three 4*s that I've been missing (purple Prof X to boot!), ~AND~ I got another Star-lord! Best MPQ day ever!

7500 iso to upgrade 3*, 5000 for 2*, quite reasonable. Only had enough ISO to upgrade one character (Doctor Doom, figured since he was yesterday's Deadpool reward), gonna be grinding for a ton now.

Rumor on the forum is that if you champion and fully level Bagman, you unlock Gorgon!

Man, I have 3 3* Bullseye covers and 2 3* Spideys and 1 Mohawk in various stages of decay, and would need about another 30-40K in ISO to 166 any of them. Decisions! (Of course, now that I've caved and bought HP, I might as well buy ISO!)

The one year no one gave me an iTunes gift card is the one year I'd actually use it right away (on this dumb game that I play while pooping and waiting in lines).

They'd have to increase the amount of iso in those packages by at least 5x for me to even consider it. this is the first time i've depleted my is in like a couple of weeks but in that time i got, what, 40k or so? not worth 50 bucks to buy something that i'll end up having in a short amount of time just by playing the dang game

altho i gotta say it is really tempting me to start cracking the seal on these taco tokens, i've got 37/29... i wanna hit 50 first tho i think.

also lol. i had my 166 dr doom (5/5/3) with two purple covers sitting in the reserve, while I wondered if I would make him 5/3/5. Then I championed him and burned thme to get him to 168 and I was like "SHIT, I WANTED TO MAKE HIM 5/3/5, I CAN'T BELIEVE I DID THAT" then i remembered champion lets you do that. duhhhh

and here i thought i was done chasing OBW covers
