same here... figures if they went through the trouble they might as well do it for Mac too

no votes or flash sales, looks like they've dropped those for a while now

Nhex, Tuesday, 22 December 2015 18:58 (ten years ago)

lame. isn't the winter sale supposed to be the big one? i was anticipating.

Mordy, Tuesday, 22 December 2015 19:00 (ten years ago)

Invisible Inc is 50% off, $10. ...almost there.

also, Humble Bundle Squeenix 3 is up. I'll spend a buck for Murdered: Soul Suspect, I guess, though I don't think my PC can run it

Nhex, Tuesday, 22 December 2015 19:02 (ten years ago)

this is still a big sale, but they've been gradually reducing the strength of these sales for the last year or two. practically everything is on sale but no longer at the ruthless prices they used to be

Nhex, Tuesday, 22 December 2015 19:03 (ten years ago)

So they really got rid of the daily deals huh. Finally got to open my wishlist and most games are 10-40% off. RIP Steam sales :(

( X '____' )/ (zappi), Tuesday, 22 December 2015 19:32 (ten years ago)

55% off Car Mechanic sim 2015!!

Drop soap, not bombs (Ste), Wednesday, 23 December 2015 00:46 (ten years ago)

ootpbaseball is also 10 bucks in the current Humble Sports sale

Sharia Law and Lambchop (The Yellow Kid), Wednesday, 23 December 2015 02:33 (ten years ago)

Super Mega Baseball is also on slaw for like $12; it is hands down my favorite sports game since that 9 Innings iPhone game from a few years back and I endorse it with every fiber of my being.

I came into some unexpected disposable income so I decided to buy another stupid huge batch of games; I'm on sabbatical from work run so for once I may actually end up playing the stuff I buy. Picked up a couple of games I'd gotten for free on PSN since they were on sale (Super Mega Baseball, Galak-Z, Axiom Verge, Super Time Force Ultra, etc), with a special eye towards games that don't have a companion Vita version. Wish Trails in the Sky SC was on sale for more that 10% off (to say nothing of Dragon Quest Heroes or Nuclear Throne, both of which are going for full price). Oh and I bought everything Platinum Games has available on Steam since they own so goddamn hard, which makes me a thirty-four God damned year old man who just spent money on a Transformers game; line forms to the left, ladies.

grinding like a jolly elf (jamescobo), Thursday, 24 December 2015 06:58 (ten years ago)

On sale, not slaw, obviously

grinding like a jolly elf (jamescobo), Thursday, 24 December 2015 06:58 (ten years ago)

Seriously though: if you like baseball and/or arcade sports games in general, PLEASE buy Super Mega Baseball

grinding like a jolly elf (jamescobo), Thursday, 24 December 2015 07:00 (ten years ago)

I think the steam authentication servers are getting barraged so hard this morning no one can login on the North America side.

Professor Goodfeels (kingfish), Friday, 25 December 2015 16:03 (ten years ago)

Only partially correct; they're under barrage alright, but from punk-ass idgit haXor kiddies

http://www.techworm.net/2015/12/skidnp-fulfill-their-promise-steam-servers-down.html

Professor Goodfeels (kingfish), Friday, 25 December 2015 16:26 (ten years ago)

cursing myself for not having claimed Steam keys for all my Humble Bundle games yet cz there's a few things in the Steam sale which I kind of want but think I may already have via HB (yes, I buy games, don't play them, and forget I have them)... except I can't log in to HB to check, because I reinstalled Windows and HB's browser verification email never arrives, and obviously nobody is going to answer support calls on Christmas Day (I hope for their sake)

so I guess it's good timing for me that there aren't any daily deals which I'm missing out on. stupid script kiddie ddos sucks tho

a passing spacecadet, Friday, 25 December 2015 18:21 (ten years ago)

holy shit Steam is fucked up right now, go into Account Details and you can see another user account with all their personal details including credit cards, phone numbers etc.

( X '____' )/ (zappi), Friday, 25 December 2015 20:42 (ten years ago)

ok that is terrifying

Mordy, Friday, 25 December 2015 20:44 (ten years ago)

AAARgh what is happening ?! This is horrible

Drop soap, not bombs (Ste), Friday, 25 December 2015 21:05 (ten years ago)

ok, this is insane, but glad I'm not the only person this is happening to at least.

methanietanner, Friday, 25 December 2015 21:13 (ten years ago)

is something happening, its' gone blank. that's good yes ?

Drop soap, not bombs (Ste), Friday, 25 December 2015 21:20 (ten years ago)

anyone still seeing account info?

Drop soap, not bombs (Ste), Friday, 25 December 2015 21:31 (ten years ago)

Looks like they finally pulled the plug. Don't worry fluffyhaggis02 I won't tell people about your addiction to boob visual novels.

( X '____' )/ (zappi), Friday, 25 December 2015 21:47 (ten years ago)

oh shit that's me! What are the chances.

Drop soap, not bombs (Ste), Friday, 25 December 2015 21:49 (ten years ago)

some sort of puzzle in the steam sale

https://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/3yu53d/steam_winter_sale_arg_confirmed_opening_any_steam/

aaaaablnnn (abanana), Wednesday, 30 December 2015 23:13 (ten years ago)

uh oh.

https://www.reddit.com/r/steamsaledetectives/

You get the feeling Valve's been prepping this one for years and has happily burrowed as deep as possible just to see what people will find.

Professor Goodfeels (kingfish), Thursday, 31 December 2015 06:20 (ten years ago)

i can't get it to work though

Nhex, Friday, 1 January 2016 17:25 (ten years ago)

ok got it in chrome. make sure you type SEARCH in caps and press enter

Nhex, Friday, 1 January 2016 17:33 (ten years ago)

got it in Firefox, too

Professor Goodfeels (kingfish), Sunday, 3 January 2016 13:23 (ten years ago)

Last couple of hours of the sale. My haul:

Lucasarts Adventure Bundle (felt nostalgic, it's Loom, The Dig + the two Indy games)
Rock Boshers DX: Director's Cut
Goat Simulator: GoatZ (still haven't even played the base game, but what the hell it was $1 and change)
Roundabout (the FMVs and generally gameplay look suitably wacky)
Downwell (looks to scratch the same itch as Super House of Dead Ninjas)
Undertale (My concession to internet hype)

Nhex, Monday, 4 January 2016 16:00 (ten years ago)

i grabbed renowned explorers - fantastic

Mordy, Monday, 4 January 2016 16:04 (ten years ago)

Thanks, hadn't seen the Lucasarts bundle.

Bought a few other things earlier in the sale (Monkey Island reissues, Escape Goat 1 & 2, and some other cheapies) but just went "what the hell" and bought 4 platform games including Out There Somewhere in a 43 pence bundle. I know nothing about any of them but Steam showed me OTS in one of my daily "queues" and the description looked kind of up my platform-puzzling street so eh.

a passing spacecadet, Monday, 4 January 2016 16:59 (ten years ago)

(I have no idea what 43p is for American viewers, like 60 cents or so?)

a passing spacecadet, Monday, 4 January 2016 17:01 (ten years ago)

Good choice with Escape Goat, I really liked that one

Nhex, Monday, 4 January 2016 17:19 (ten years ago)

Friend of a friend created Escape Goat, and I thought both strange and tickling when it blew up later.

Professor Goodfeels (kingfish), Monday, 4 January 2016 19:52 (ten years ago)

I love both Escape Goats btw!

I tried to continue the cloven-hooved theme with Divide By Sheep but not enjoying that one so much. Also played Goat Simulator and Goats on a Bridge this Christmas, though both had been in my Steam inventory unplayed for a while. Truly this is my winter of goaty video games.

a passing spacecadet, Monday, 4 January 2016 19:59 (ten years ago)

My haul:

Hacknet
Uplink
SW: Republic Commando
Evopollution
Sunless Sea (more like a card game + SM's Pirates! than I'd expected)
Windward (SM's Pirates! updated)
Rebel Galaxy
Deus Ex: Invisible War
Toy Soldiers: Complete (the earlier WWI/Cold War collection)
Grow Home
Invisible Inc.
Dead State
Remember Me
Freedom Force & its sequel
Data Hacker: Initiation(I'm a sucker for cyberpunk)

Thinking about grabbing Cities: Skylines + the nighttime DLC or Tales from the Borderlands or SOMA. Stuff that's popped up on a lot of GOTY lists. No real big AAA/open world titles since I'm letting some time pass after 2 months of obsessive Fallout marathoning.

And we'll see if Anno 2250 winds up being worthwhile or not.

Professor Goodfeels (kingfish), Monday, 4 January 2016 20:18 (ten years ago)

invisible inc is v good

Mordy, Monday, 4 January 2016 20:19 (ten years ago)

I remember when Dead State was first announced and was interested in what they could do. Managing survivor interactions inside a Fallout 2 engine worked on by ex-Black Isle/Troika guys, but damn did this thing not nearly progress to the level I thought it would

Professor Goodfeels (kingfish), Monday, 4 January 2016 20:40 (ten years ago)

I wasn't sure if that was the same project from years back. It looks really busted.

Nhex, Monday, 4 January 2016 20:42 (ten years ago)

nerd shit (Will M.), Monday, 4 January 2016 20:51 (ten years ago)

oh yeah, frozen cortex. that looked really cool. post how it is after u get to it?

Mordy, Monday, 4 January 2016 20:53 (ten years ago)

nerd shit (Will M.), Monday, 4 January 2016 21:37 (ten years ago)

remove butt (abanana), Tuesday, 5 January 2016 01:36 (ten years ago)

I debated getting Undertale but dithered and now the sale has finished... it's still not too ridiculously expensive, is it worth getting?

emil.y, Tuesday, 5 January 2016 01:41 (ten years ago)

shit, i forgot to buy those old Trek games. wanted to play 25th Anniversary. next time...

Nhex, Tuesday, 5 January 2016 06:22 (ten years ago)

everyone is going crazy for undertale so i figure £5/$8 is worth giving it a go - gonna start it tonight

jamiesummerz, Tuesday, 5 January 2016 10:14 (ten years ago)

Just bought the Squeenix Humble Bundle 3 minutes before shutdown. I have a problem

Nhex, Tuesday, 5 January 2016 17:31 (ten years ago)

I picked up Dying Light in the Steam sale since there were so many good reviews of it; unfortunately I guess it's been long enough since Mirror's Edge that I forgot that first-person parkour is a terrible idea for games. so instead I just keep playing Road Redemption and BoI. also been trying out Tallowmere which is a pretty fun side-scrolling roguelike; it is fun and charming enough that I will forgive its platforming jankiness and pretend it's a latter-day Faxanadu.

the Xbone Elite controllers to use as my primary Steam controller also finally showed up and jesus christ this thing is flawless. the weight is perfect, the finish is perfect, the travel distance on the buttons & triggers is unilaterally perfect, I love the paddles even though they currently require futzing around in the settings to use correctly, and the d-pad (the real one, not the ridiculous silver disc thing it ships with installed) is at least as good as the other two contenders for best d-pad of the generation (namely the ones on the Gamevice and the Wii U's Gamepad). if you are the type of person disposed to spend Too Much Money on things like earphones/buds and also plays video games, this is absolutely worth the asking price; I haven't found one single thing to complain about so far.

grinding like a jolly elf (jamescobo), Saturday, 9 January 2016 17:22 (ten years ago)

I do wish I'd used a regular-sized case when I built my HTPC rather than a compact one so that I could fit a video card that'd let me run an Oculus so that I could play Elite in 3D, but I guess my wallet is pretty grateful on that front

grinding like a jolly elf (jamescobo), Saturday, 9 January 2016 17:24 (ten years ago)

Humble FMV bundle - $5

7th Guest
11th Hour
