no totally, they fuck me up with her, that's why I'm looking to level her. I dunno, it'll be between her, Squirrel Girl, and Daredevil, once I finish Gray Suit during the next seven or so days. though my Squirrel Girl is badly covered at 5-5-3, 3-5-5 would be way better I think. but she's a beast.

Nice that I was able to get 3 Enemy of the State tokens without grinding too hard during lunch.

Been pulling my hair out trying to stay in the Top 150 for that Cyclops card. Totally not worth it, in retrospect

OTM, I've barely played PVE in the past couples months.

I mean I'd love the iron fist in the current pve but I'm not gonna grind and grind and grind.

yesterday I was desperate for some ISO to get the last level for 166ing Gray Suit. so I went to the prologue (LRs were over and the pvp is hilariously not a guaranteed win with 3 290s against 3 290s). I had to grind and grind and grind some dumb missions and after like 10 tries I got a 500 pot of it. suuuucked.

but that's my 22nd 166! now working on Squirrel Girl

my 166s are: black panther, grey suit, blade, cyclops, taken, deadpool, doctor doom, human torch, model 40, loki, luke cage, magneto, mystique, psylocke, rocket and groot, falcon, lazy cap, hood, hulk, punisher, thor, patch.

have xforce at 270, invisible woman at 5-4-4 167 but I haven't really thrown ISO at her yet. doesn't yet seem worth it.

I also have spidey, daredevil, storm, raggie, squirrel girl, colossus, captain marvel, she hulk, and beast cover maxed, ready to 166. probably gonna go with she hulk and then daredevil after squirrel girl. then I dunno: storm? cap marvel? beast? colossus? raggie? spidey? in roughly that order though I hope to get iron fist, kamela khan and scarlet witch fully covered before long.

Are you opening tokens when you get them? It's best to wait open them only when you have roster space to add new characters, otherwise you run the risk of having desirable covers that may expire. (Tokens don't expire.)

Totally get the strategy, but I'm still at the stage where my core 2* need more covers. Once they're competitive I figure I can slow down. That said, the temptation to buy hero points and/or sell Hawkeye and Moonstone is strong.

In that case maybe just open standard tokens? Farm ISO for junk you don't want, lesser chance of pulling a 3*.

BTW I sold my Hawkeye pretty early, he might help with some goon battles but I survived without him. Moonstone's powers were changed a few months ago, she might be viable, but I never used her either.

In other news: I pulled a Hulkbuster from my Enemy of the State tokens!

Which Hawkeye? IMO ** Hawkeye is a top tier character now that they replaced Avoid with Speed Shot

I always pull special/heroic tokens immediately. Never know when the MPQ gods will smile and give you a 3* you need or even a 4* (just got another Prof X last week)

Regular tokens I just pull whenever since 95% of them will be sold for iso

I like waiting till I have 40 standard tokens and then opening them because there's about a 2% chance of pulling a 3* or better, and so they feel less like an exercise in futility.

Oh brother, I went up too high in the Vision PVP without bothering to shield and have been getting hammered all day.

I... might win my Osborne Corp bracket. Prob a top 10 finish at least.

I got the Oscorp Iron Fist just now, I've been grinding hard for that. IF is top 5 in the game right now, and now mine's 1-1-5, with the 5 in black, his best color. probably the only character I'm tempted to use my 10K HP stash & buy covers.

I drew a red Lady Thor yesterday, have her at 4-3-3 now. I know she's not #1 in the game anymore but she's a nice character, I'll be happy to 270 her eventually.

& I'm 37 in my Oscorp bracket, and I don't even want the Sentry covers (I sold a 166 Sentry after the nerf, he's terrible now). #1 would be nice, otherwise I was only grinding for the IF.

My IF is 4/3/4 and I haven't hit 15K in Oscorp yet so I've got another black cover coming. IF/Falcon/Classic Mags is kind of a devastating combo, especially with all 3 buffed.

I've learning this week with Kamala Khan buffed that she is also one of the toughest characters in the game right now. it's not true healing but that autoheal after each power drags out battles, while she saves up for another green area attack.

Yeah her stock has been trending up for a while now; I wish I had more covers for her because I'd be ramping her up with IF

yes; and Luke Cage + IF looks great too.

now that I've 166d Gray Suit I wish I'd done so a long time ago; her color combo (green + purple) is an excellent complement to the usual hard hitters, who lean on red, yellow and black. ditto with IF and KK. then you have a third spot you can plug with a utility player like Loki or Hood or Falcon & not worry about missing a color.

Kamala is pretty damn awesome in the buffed events. Too many characters on the road to 166 tho - finishing up Steve Rogers, Super Soldier (man, how weird was all the Capt. America/Sam Wilson/Steve Rogers name switching this last update) and C. Mags. Not sure where to go from there - Kamala, Rocket, Loki and Blade all look good, but I have a lot of 3*s to max lvl

Blade is incredible, esp if you can run him with a team where red isn't a priority, or with Hood. & Blade + Falcon in PVE, esp in the wave events, I can take down several waves in a row just with his attack tiles, doing ~3000 damage per turn

Pulled another Hulkbuster from a Deadpool token!

Falcon/Daken/Blade is my new favorite team to do the non-ninja Big Enchilada. (I have Daken in there because my Blade only has like 2 green or whichever color generates the strike tiles.)

PVE hasn't looked to be worth the effort in quite a while. To get the guaranteed 3*, you've got to max out the points and I never seem to make much headway in the rankings. Doing much better in PVP overall.

The not-so-secret trick to PVE is to make it to the final day -- the missions reward you more points the farther behind you are from the leaders. It still takes some time commitment, but I've basically clear all the nodes of a sub-mission once, then return to easier high-point missions once their values have reset (so basically play PVE at most twice a day), and I've been able to nab the final progression reward.

This PVP was a beast to get to 800 for the green KK cover but I just did it. My KK is ~230 buffed but the 290 KKs I'm matched against are so tough, with steady group healing and that green blast doing 6000+. Now I'm at 5-3-4, almost usable.

still haven't figured out how to avoid getting whacked with massively OP opponents. figure this is a noob thing that will sort itself as i level up?

not really; you gotta skip those fights, or tank (start the fight with crappy chars you won't use anyway, quit and lose immediately). you'll lose points, so try to tank high point value fights - you'll lose less. in any case your match ups get less powerful when you lose

btw i love that Carnage/Sentry/Daken team-up mission they give you in the root Prodigal Sun set; fun to just destroy everyone with their suicidal powers since you don't have to care about team health

^^ this. i'm super impressed too by the way the game designers interpret those characters. like carnage's insane special tile create/smash cycle is hysterical fun and all of sentry's powers are so depressing you don't even want to use them.

I'll use Sentry's yellow power because who cares if he dies?

I've been too busy to play much beyond keeping up with the daily Deadpool, so I just started the Gray Widow tourney tonight - picked the latest stopping point and I guess it was pretty much empty because I was in 50th without even playing and after ten or eleven games I'm holding tight in the top 10.
