yet another days of arcade game i don't care about-- shit, are they purposfully saving lode runner & flock & outrun to hurt my heart?!

oh also, space invaders extreme... hyped to actually pay fr that

Brilli.am/writes (Will M.), Wednesday, 1 April 2009 19:46 (seventeen years ago)

i think i only like one-button fire games. really cannot be arsed to spend the time figuring out if i want to use a normal attack or super attack or slide - super attack decapitation combo or whatever. i just end up button mashing.

wow o_O

"While the majority of Xbox 360 owners continue to have a great experience with their console, we are aware that a very small percentage of our customers have reported receiving an error that displays "E74" on their screen. After investigating the issue, we have determined that the E74 error message can indicate the general hardware failure that is associated with three flashing red lights error on the console. As a result, we have decided to cover repairs related to the E74 error message under our three-year warranty program for certain general hardware failures that was announced in July 2007."

no-one interested in outrun?

did anyone play the xbla banjo kazooie?

the most naturally gifted poster of his generation (cozwn), Wednesday, 15 April 2009 21:36 (seventeen years ago)

I did! I played through most of it, anyway. Stopped after collecting all the puzzle pieces/notes from each level. I didn't pay enough attention to the fairies throughout the game so I won't know the answers to the quiz, and I recall the final boss battle being a bit aggravating. Then again, that was a decade ago, and this game was unsurprisingly easier this time around than when I was 14. Looks/sounds great, though.

salsa shark, Wednesday, 15 April 2009 22:10 (seventeen years ago)

I would like to play Banjo-Tooie on xbla eventually as well. I've forgotten most of it except for the level with the dinosaurs and the hot/cold world one.

salsa shark, Wednesday, 15 April 2009 22:12 (seventeen years ago)

I'm torn

is it HDified?

the most naturally gifted poster of his generation (cozwn), Wednesday, 15 April 2009 22:19 (seventeen years ago)

I... think.. so.
It looked pretty sharp, anyway.

salsa shark, Wednesday, 15 April 2009 22:23 (seventeen years ago)

it turns out that sterling XBLA casual game ZUMA was all it took to get my girlfriend to stop worrying and love the XBOX that moved into her flat along with me

mortal pants (stevie), Thursday, 16 April 2009 07:07 (seventeen years ago)

seriously, what a bitchen game

mortal pants (stevie), Thursday, 16 April 2009 07:07 (seventeen years ago)

I totally loved outrun 2 but hadn't heard about this new one. is this outrun 2 but online and in hd? a remake of the original? is it out yet?

original bgm, Thursday, 16 April 2009 14:52 (seventeen years ago)

it's outrun coast 2 coast in hd (720, not 1080) and has online multiplayer. it's out and costs M$800

the most naturally gifted poster of his generation (cozwn), Thursday, 16 April 2009 15:22 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah - the "new" Outrun is just a port of part the last game with a little bit shinier graphics. I tried out the demo and it seems fine, but since I already have the old game (on PC) and am not really interested in online racing for this one (which is buggy anyway), I don't see the point.

Jeff LeVine, Thursday, 16 April 2009 16:07 (seventeen years ago)

oh, bummer. was hoping it would be something new. I already have outrun 2 and outrun coast 2 coast, so I'll probably pass.

still, not a bad deal if you don't already have other versions. seriously a great game. and blue sky too.

original bgm, Thursday, 16 April 2009 16:28 (seventeen years ago)

so do i even bother to complain about the tiger woods deal of the week here, or just accept how much this new feature is pointless and awful?

YOUR POLLS SHIT THE BED (jjjusten), Tuesday, 21 April 2009 06:10 (seventeen years ago)

100 MILLION in GEOMETRY WARS PACIFISM MODE aw yeah.

I daresay the world record is exponentially larger so I ain't quitting yet.

Pro Creationism Soccer 2009 (ledge), Tuesday, 21 April 2009 09:03 (seventeen years ago)

yeah dudes get billions on tht

I think my rcd is 67 million? tht mode is too addictive

cozwn, Tuesday, 21 April 2009 10:25 (seventeen years ago)

you can see world records on the leaderboards, think the record is 5 billion or something. 100 million is pretty good going though!

zappi, Tuesday, 21 April 2009 12:06 (seventeen years ago)

just picked up kane & lynch for v.v.cheap, it's fun!!!

derivative, clunky, and with some framerate issues but still enjoyable enough

I remember back when I had the high ILG score on Pacifism. Now I'm not even in the ballpark.

is there any way to play japanese games on a US 360? I'm guessing not... but I'm tempted by the cave shooters...

original bgm, Wednesday, 22 April 2009 14:06 (seventeen years ago)

Making a new Silver acc't that is Japanese is one way. Not sure if you can buy w/ an American CC, but you can definitely download demos etc

Brilli.am/writes (Will M.), Wednesday, 22 April 2009 16:47 (seventeen years ago)

no one will care but me but trent reznor repped geometry wars in his digg dialogue :) him and kevin rose had nerd bonerz going for it

bnw, Wednesday, 22 April 2009 16:53 (seventeen years ago)

will -you can't play other regions retail disc release games on a 360 that way (or arcade releases). I believe there are mod chips that can be bought to make it region free, but also have the impression that it's more complicated and possibly more expensive than just buying a japanese 360(?), unfortunately.

Tried out the Virtual-On demo this morning and didn't really get it. The graphics are nice, but the game just felt clunky. So far I'm glad I just played the demo and didn't buy it (really getting thankful for these demos saving me money of late). Anybody want to convince me it's worth a second shot?

Apparently there's a multiplayer demo for the new Bionic Commando up today which I may try out tonight, but so far nothing about that game has looked very appealing to me

Jeff LeVine, Wednesday, 29 April 2009 16:16 (seventeen years ago)

ok so the demo for that UFC game is like stunningly awful

***OSCARBAITS FURIOUSLY*** (jjjusten), Wednesday, 29 April 2009 17:55 (seventeen years ago)

(not that i am shocked by this or anything, but wow, way to put your worst foot forward guys)

***OSCARBAITS FURIOUSLY*** (jjjusten), Wednesday, 29 April 2009 17:55 (seventeen years ago)

I heard it ws pretty good!!!

still to try tooie, virtual-on, and ufc

zinguist (cozwn), Wednesday, 29 April 2009 22:33 (seventeen years ago)

its possible that there might be more depth if you go through the LONG tutorial on the demo, but without doing that it seemed like pretty much button mashing nonsense.

***OSCARBAITS FURIOUSLY*** (jjjusten), Wednesday, 29 April 2009 22:35 (seventeen years ago)

and fuck if i am going to spend a bunch of time on tutorial mode in a demo, right?

fair disclosure - my mood might have been preset, because i played this right after suffering through the alone in the dark demo because they were selling it in a store for dirt cheap and i figured "hey maybe it wont suck!"

it appears to suck

***OSCARBAITS FURIOUSLY*** (jjjusten), Wednesday, 29 April 2009 22:37 (seventeen years ago)

nah it looked well shady when I peeped it earlier, hence my surprise when ppl whom I respect said it ws actually good

ima try it at least

zinguist (cozwn), Thursday, 30 April 2009 00:13 (seventeen years ago)

I did not enjoy the Bionic Commando demo.

I did enjoy the UFC demo.

Conclusion: I am a simpleton.

Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Thursday, 30 April 2009 18:23 (seventeen years ago)

Raiden Fighters Aces comp is out in the US - available at eb/gamespot only so far though - apparently. Only $20. Solid release.

Jeff LeVine, Sunday, 10 May 2009 00:54 (seventeen years ago)

lots of old skool sega coming to xbla: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=214705

pen(istentiary) (stevie), Monday, 11 May 2009 16:45 (seventeen years ago)

mentioned this over on the what's hot thread. what are some other games tht have been out for a while and weren't reviewed stellarly but are worth the £10-12 they now cost? examples of stuff I've already bought in this vein are battlefield bad co. and kane & lynch

is call of juarez worth a punt? what else? I might pick up assassin's creed too

zinguist (cozwn), Wednesday, 20 May 2009 22:42 (seventeen years ago)

viva pinata?

im drunk so no forks (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 20 May 2009 22:52 (seventeen years ago)

hated the call of juarez demo

Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Wednesday, 20 May 2009 23:17 (seventeen years ago)

wait, is kane & lynch actually good? demo did not fill me with confidence.

moved to the Home of Rest For Horses at Speen (jjjusten), Wednesday, 20 May 2009 23:31 (seventeen years ago)

of course everyone else in the world seems to be loving the UFC game, and as i have mentioned way too many times, i thought the demo for that was poo city.

moved to the Home of Rest For Horses at Speen (jjjusten), Wednesday, 20 May 2009 23:32 (seventeen years ago)

Mirror's Edge is a tenner now, at least in our stores. I'll probably pick that up this week.

JimD, Wednesday, 20 May 2009 23:45 (seventeen years ago)

I really liked that, £10 seems about right for how short it is.

languid samuel l. jackson (jim), Wednesday, 20 May 2009 23:46 (seventeen years ago)

kane & lynch is a fun enough knockabout, clunky controls and a dodgy framerate. not worth £40 but I picked it up for £7 and it ws perfect value for money

zinguist (cozwn), Thursday, 21 May 2009 06:42 (seventeen years ago)

ws gun good?
