i think i only like one-button fire games. really cannot be arsed to spend the time figuring out if i want to use a normal attack or super attack or slide - super attack decapitation combo or whatever. i just end up button mashing.

I did! I played through most of it, anyway. Stopped after collecting all the puzzle pieces/notes from each level. I didn't pay enough attention to the fairies throughout the game so I won't know the answers to the quiz, and I recall the final boss battle being a bit aggravating. Then again, that was a decade ago, and this game was unsurprisingly easier this time around than when I was 14. Looks/sounds great, though.

I would like to play Banjo-Tooie on xbla eventually as well. I've forgotten most of it except for the level with the dinosaurs and the hot/cold world one.

I totally loved outrun 2 but hadn't heard about this new one. is this outrun 2 but online and in hd? a remake of the original? is it out yet?

it's outrun coast 2 coast in hd (720, not 1080) and has online multiplayer. it's out and costs M$800

Yeah - the "new" Outrun is just a port of part the last game with a little bit shinier graphics. I tried out the demo and it seems fine, but since I already have the old game (on PC) and am not really interested in online racing for this one (which is buggy anyway), I don't see the point.

oh, bummer. was hoping it would be something new. I already have outrun 2 and outrun coast 2 coast, so I'll probably pass.

still, not a bad deal if you don't already have other versions. seriously a great game. and blue sky too.

Making a new Silver acc't that is Japanese is one way. Not sure if you can buy w/ an American CC, but you can definitely download demos etc

will -you can't play other regions retail disc release games on a 360 that way (or arcade releases). I believe there are mod chips that can be bought to make it region free, but also have the impression that it's more complicated and possibly more expensive than just buying a japanese 360(?), unfortunately.

Tried out the Virtual-On demo this morning and didn't really get it. The graphics are nice, but the game just felt clunky. So far I'm glad I just played the demo and didn't buy it (really getting thankful for these demos saving me money of late). Anybody want to convince me it's worth a second shot?

Apparently there's a multiplayer demo for the new Bionic Commando up today which I may try out tonight, but so far nothing about that game has looked very appealing to me

its possible that there might be more depth if you go through the LONG tutorial on the demo, but without doing that it seemed like pretty much button mashing nonsense.

and fuck if i am going to spend a bunch of time on tutorial mode in a demo, right?

fair disclosure - my mood might have been preset, because i played this right after suffering through the alone in the dark demo because they were selling it in a store for dirt cheap and i figured "hey maybe it wont suck!"

Raiden Fighters Aces comp is out in the US - available at eb/gamespot only so far though - apparently. Only $20. Solid release.

Mirror's Edge is a tenner now, at least in our stores. I'll probably pick that up this week.

I really liked that, £10 seems about right for how short it is.

kane & lynch is a fun enough knockabout, clunky controls and a dodgy framerate. not worth £40 but I picked it up for £7 and it ws perfect value for money
