Devil Dino is D3's anniversary "gift" to players that's really just a way to take up a roster slot / induce suckers into spending HP on leveling DD.

I tried it. So weird - even though it has the official Puzzle Quest license, it's actually a shameless reskin of Adult Swim's own Puzzle Quest clone, Adventure Xpress, which itself was kind of a Adventure Time rip off. Bizarre or phenomenally lazy?

adventure express was boring as heck

I enjoyed Adventure XPress until the game just became a super grind, replay old levels over and over to lvl up your character

The splash screen changes every 3 months or so; that will eventually go away.

Also if you think Ben looks fat, wait until you see the avatar pic for 3-star Thor

I got 1000 in the pvp yesterday for the iron fist covers and I was still #26 :(

at least I got a carnage cover

our alliance is pretty slack; all that's really asked to play once every day or two, so everybody gets the extra daily bonus iso. we aren't serious about placing in PVP. give it a few days though, we're filled up right now

I had a flash of "man I wish we were a little more serious about placing in PVP" and then I thought about what that would look like and pummeled that stray thought into a bloody pulp

er, I meant "stray thought" = "flash", although it works both ways

same, except i still sorta am ambivalent about it

I have so many maxed 3 stars that invariably I have at least two boosted ones, so I'm usually running a 290-240-240 team, and I win most of those battles. And I get 40-50 points per battle up to 700 or so, and often beyond that. After 900-950 or so the retals pick up so 1000 is probably my ceiling without shield hopping (and I don't care enough to bother with that).

at some point that's where i wanna be; i'm grinding to bring all the 3* who CAN make it to 140 to there and will then start pinpointing. Figuring out how to consistently zip through the deadpool grind (lazy thor, daken, ogbw still getting it done) means that the sugar drip of NEW COVER buildup with everyone makes the progressquest still enjoyable.
I figure by the end of the summer, I'll have about 15 3* characters at 140 and I can start actually playing pvp instead of playing the first five rounds and then quitting.

yeah when I was in a "power alliance" I was getting 3 star covers in a flood, but ISO is obv the real slower-downer. and once you have a good team you can slowly get 4 star covers without relying on the alliance. I got pretty sick of having to hit 800 in every pvp because I travel a lot and "pressure" to play this game sucks. sometimes the grind isn't what you need. right now for me (as I sell 90%+ of my irl possessions in advance of a big move) it is really hitting the spot. too bad pve still sucks.

once I 166'd Classic Magneto and Loki, gauntlet levels became laughably, ridiculously easy; you can easily put yourself into loops where every board shake replenishes or almost-replenishes your board-shaking abilities, artificially extending your turn and averaging 2-3K of damage per shake on Magneto's abilities alone, plus you end up with a backlog of black that lets Loki stomp on any protect or strike tiles that get thrown out and any 4 or 5 match the opponent gets on you lets Loki drain away his entire stockpile

I've gone through the Deadpool gauntlet and never had an enemy ability fire on me between those two. (For the two-star gauntlet, it's basically MagNow gobbles purple/makes 5 match blue/ModHawkeye destroys the entire opposing team with purple and red abilities/Ares tanks and does cleanup with green if necessary)

it's a good thing Loki only has like 5 HP otherwise I would expect him to be SUPER NERFED in the near future

For a mid-level player like me the Deadpool stuff has been super helpful. I've been using **** Wolverine, ** Storm, and ** Widow and beating it every time. My *** players are too underpowered to be helpful.

that will change quickly as you keep beating the gauntlets and getting more covers

i am enjoying a 153 spidey / 153 classic mags / 127 loki mix for all the reasons you're mentioning there

for extra fun, sub out Spidey for Falcon when he gets high enough; then every yellow match makes you more invincible

i guess the upside of spidey is for immediate shielding so you don't get dinged up early on but yeah, that'll work too.
my falcon is 117 3/1/5; i need like two more covers and then he goes into heavy rotation

especially against henchmen who don't make active matches, Falcon/Classic Magneto is a ridiculous combo because you can trigger Mag's yellow and then Falcon will sit there and buff the resulting protect tiles with every yellow match you make until you have enough to throw more protect tiles out; I think I had one game where I had at least one 700+ protect tile on the board

I'm still going to rep Hulk/IM40/Cap, because the only time I came close to losing with that combo was because of stupid/incorrect swiping. Strategy: rush yellow/red/blue so that you'll be able to overwrite the countdown tiles, use Hulk to tank hits and generate green, and once you're in the non-goon waves, HULK SMASH 1-3 times to bring down the other team's health, deploy IM40's yellow and hit them with his blue once then red twice, rinse and repeat for the next two waves.

Oh and I'm still using my 2* Cap, since he and not the 3* version has the requisite 3/5/5 build for that strategy.

When I don't feel like the slog of Hulk/IM40/Cap, though, I'll go with Patch/Daken/Falcon, but the way I play Patch can be a little too exciting sometimes.
