I just sold Bagman to make a spot for Vision. The 3-star proliferation has rendered him completely useless because even with only 1-2 cards there are like 6 better 3-star options for what he's good at (slowing NPC fodder)

and c'mon, you know at some point they're gonna do a useless character tourney just to fuck with people.

They should do a 1-cover tourney (ie, every character is restricted to only one cover) with the rewards being a pile of 4-star covers

i don't know where you guys are spending your HP. i have like 4100 HP banked and since the beginning of the game I have always used them only on cover slots

+ you know, the OCD thing. i'll have a max-cover lvl 10 Yelena forever.
(hey, they actually gave 2* Bullseye a third power recently so you never know)

When I had a giant pile of HP, I was shielding so I could get the better covers from the tournaments. Now, I only buy cover slots with it and have about 1k HP banked up for the next decent character I get (plz be Prof X or Cyclops)

oh ok, tbf i do use HP on shields. but only when I place in the top 100 obv

yeah that was during my run of consistent top 10 placements (RIP when I had time to waste on shield-hopping)

IIRC you have a bigger roster than mine (I'm at 54/54), I have a hard time imagining how you built up such a stash while I've been scrimping and saving (I have < 700 HP right now).

actually i did just get a gut-busting 1000 HP from a Deadpool Daily token yesterday, but still, most of that is hustling the PvP tournaments and daily rewards/tokens from Deadpool

i'm thinking about it - i don't shield more than once per tourney (just at the end within the 3 hour mark) so I'm always breakeven or net positive on HP on those depending on win placement

I tossed my 1* Storm yesterday. I've tossed all my 1* and 2* characters except OBW, Classic Storm and Juggernaut -- that's all I need to get through Deadpool dailies. 48 slots and I'm missing Elektra and some weaker 3* characters.

Nhex how can you save that much! My HP is gone as soon as I get it. Looking at your roster, I'd be too tempted by Surgical Strike or Demolition.

I still have 1-star Storm, Juggs and Iron Man for the Deadpool dailies; also have pretty much all the 2-stars except Bagman for sentimental/random power boost reasons

What was your strategy? Wait for the enemy to get a match-4 to pick up red/blue AP with Loki, then start stunning and bonking people with Cap?

I didn't even bother with blue tbh; just got enough red to star dropping 4k Avenging Shields on ppl and used Loki's black to turn any enemy Falcon shield tiles into friendly strike tiles.

Cap/Falcon/Spidey was another good combo because I could boost Spidey's shields with Falcon's yellow, then drop the accumulated purple on Falcon shields and make myself virtually invulnerable to match damage and about 50% of the specials I faced; the specials that hurt me were so cut down by the shields that they could be easily healed by Spidey's yellow

(Plus Spidey's blue = rolling stuns)

but you're missing black and green on that team... doesn't that cause problems against certain match-ups, especially since those are the probably the strongest colors

Not as much of a problem as you'd think if you can get a rolling stun going with Spidey on whomever the most dangerous character is while you build up yr defense. I obliterated a ton of X-Forces and Fat Thors in 3-4 hits and, if they hit me once, I usually had enough yellow banked for Spidey to pull the team out of danger with a heal.

I don't know if I'd recommend it for events where Falcon/ModCap/Spidey aren't all buffed but I ended up in... 16th place? on the Falcon event without shielding.

Yeah, there was something about the Falcon event -- I didn't bother shielding, lost 100+ points, and still ended up in the top 100.

Also I like this new match-making system that regularly gives me opponents worth 50+ points.

btw when are they gonna nerf Iron Fist, holy shit

Got a fifth yellow for Mr magnet, but the Wikia and the D3 forums have pretty divergent opinions on his best build, especially with his yellow. Should I sell it or level it up to 5? Also at 4 red and 1 blue right now.

My strategy is to use whatever covers I can get so I can max level the character, then adjust the build later

ugh it stings when open a regular token and you get a 4* card (in this case, Invisible Woman/Green) that you've already maxed out

Is it just me or is there a Hulk bug on his passive, where (from the nerf) he's only supposed to generate a rage countdown tile once per hit, but when you fight the AI it still acts like it used to (one rage tile for every 5% damage)

Going back to my selective cover leveling, my reasoning is that I'd rather have that 500 ISO than a non-optimal character. I think that this is more relevant to someone like Lazy Cap, since anything less than -/4/4 is somewhat useless (well maybe not, looking at his powers again, he can be useful in PVP). (I don't know about Classic Mags, though, esp. at potentially 5/4/1.) I'm also feeling pretty good about my 3* roster, so the need to just get some character's level higher isn't that urgent.

Loki or GSBW might be a better example than Lazy Cap.

yeah, but a leveled character is what it's all about anyway. once you get em maxed out, you can tinker with cover replacements after and 500 iso is nothing. even for 5k iso i don't think i'd not use a 3star cover regardless of if it were optimal.

today's deadpool got me my fifth green gsbwidow card and lets me level her up to 153... her green attack currently does 3500 dmg to all enemies; between that and the purple green creator, she's gonna be a fun get out of jail free card

I'm still playing this but I haven't really been adding any purple stuff (I can't remember what it's called even, what's wrong with me) so I have amassed a fortune... 125000 or so purple stuffs. Are any of these guys worth boosting yet?

Those are all 3 star versions btw except Xforce obviously.

Kinda tempted to boost Dr Doom, even at that lower level his purple could come in handy with my lack of top-tier purple options. Blade and Squirrel still too low to really consider, Widow's p useless until I get more greens, Spiderman is a maybe? Psylocke isn't inspiring esp. since I usually have a dude whose black or red I like... maybe Falcon? I need your guidance, ILX-Statix.

xp didn't even consider torch b/c I usually roll out Pun or Hulk, why is he so useful?

torch's green, unleashed with 15 green in reserve, does like 1400 per turn; the black is a great nuisance and the red is a solid attack with none of hulk's blowback.

"Purple stuff" you mean the not-Sunny D?

I like Torch's red because it's great bang for your buck -- cheap and does lots of damage.
