Eh not really afaict the only pay to play is you can pay to have things finish quicker (tho the game gives you plenty of premium currency for free ime) but you can't like buy unique items w crowns.

I'm almost up to the Medieval Age. My defense has been holding up pretty well, and I tend to win my multiplayer matches for the most part. Of course if someone from the Enlightenment Age creeps in they're going to annihilate me but they get a lot more money if they attack someone closer to their level. Haven't spend any irl money yet.
― polyphonic, Tuesday, 28 April 2015 18:23 (eleven years ago)
Civ Crafter is another similar game that I've been playing. Also free. Build up your town and then fight other towns or whatever, with some clicker elements. This one in more of a Minecraftish visual style.
― polyphonic, Tuesday, 28 April 2015 18:25 (eleven years ago)
One thing I like about Dominations that you can watch replays of the attacks, win or lose, so that you can refine your defenses. And when you attack people you can see how they've set up their town and steal ideas from it.

If they ever manage to port a paradox grand strategy game to tablets I'll never play another game again

― like a giraffe of nah (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 28 May 2015 12:54 (eleven years ago)
i have been playing it a lot as well. the visual design is really good, to the degree that you'll notice new little details a couple hours in.
― Karl Malone, Thursday, 28 May 2015 13:12 (eleven years ago)
it's careful to allow you to unlock stuff so that there always feels like progress being made

Quit after I got to level 39 and can't for the life of me fly though an archway with the wing suit.
― Jeff, Monday, 1 June 2015 01:23 (eleven years ago)
this was a bit of a constant for a while - just unlocked the final boarder (level 51). very enjoyable and curiously soothing and unfrustrating. right about the challenges being nicely calibrated.
flying through an arch - although that feels like it should be those roof-tile grinds, you can do it by flying 'through' any grind post (that is to say below the bit where you grind but over the ground obv). it's probably easiest it do it with the bunting ones.

You must build a boat, sequel to 1000000000000 out.
― Jeff, Friday, 5 June 2015 11:42 (eleven years ago)
wasn't i supposed to get that for free or something for buying the original? thought i read that somewhere
― diamonddave85 (diamonddave85), Friday, 5 June 2015 14:23 (eleven years ago)

― like a giraffe of nah (forksclovetofu), Friday, 5 June 2015 15:21 (eleven years ago)

I've been having a ball with Knights of Pen and Paper, and I see that a sequel just came out, so I'll be on that too.

― droit au butt (Euler), Friday, 5 June 2015 15:57 (eleven years ago)

― like a giraffe of nah (forksclovetofu), Friday, 5 June 2015 15:58 (eleven years ago)
level 26 I think? have to break 5 rocks on a single board, not a big deal but haven't quite hit it yet
― droit au butt (Euler), Friday, 5 June 2015 15:59 (eleven years ago)
level 33 on alto as well.
and you must build a boat is somehow even more addicting than 10000000000000000
― Karl Malone, Friday, 5 June 2015 17:10 (eleven years ago)
aw fuck, going in

― Jeff, Monday, 8 June 2015 16:25 (eleven years ago)
are you (or anyone here) playing it ON IPHONE? I played 10000000000000000 ON IPAD and it ruled obv but I'm wondering how it would work on phone
― droit au butt (Euler), Monday, 8 June 2015 16:31 (eleven years ago)
i'm playing it on iphone. it's fine, i have no complaints
― Mordy, Monday, 8 June 2015 16:33 (eleven years ago)

― droit au butt (Euler), Monday, 8 June 2015 16:39 (eleven years ago)
how long does YOUMUSTBUILDA BOATgo on for? I am loving it (a bit too much) but enjoyed that finite structure for 100000000 - 'you will be addicted for this comparatively brief length of time, but you will be completely addicted'. YMBAB feels like it might go on for ages.
― woof, Monday, 8 June 2015 16:43 (eleven years ago)
I feel the opposite! I'm afraid I'm close to the end. I don't want it to end.
― Jeff, Monday, 8 June 2015 16:45 (eleven years ago)
there's only one map. It felt too short to me almost. There were only like a couple quests I had to sink more than a couple runs into.
― jennifer islam (silby), Monday, 8 June 2015 16:49 (eleven years ago)
boat is great.
blades of brim is good too -- i sort of thought i was finally done with auto-runners and this has enough to keep it interesting

Peggle Blast is SO INFURIATINGLY FREEMIUM, like just let me pay $4 for an entire really solid fucking game! Stop designing impossibly difficult levels and then making me wait 30 minutes between lives w/ the option of spending IRL money on more! This is fucking gross.

within the last 24 hours the team behindPac-Man C.E has enabled MFI pads on iOS, which is a great way to play it with butan if you don't have and a Vita and want to play this game on the go (in the "lounging in your hotel room wherever" context or the "on the flight to wherever" context, not in the "on the bus to work" context) this is probably now your best bet. here's an article w/ more info:
https://www.afterpad.com/pac-man-championship-edition-dx-released-with-mfi-controller-support
seriously, the Hori MFi gamepad is worth it just for this game; it is also worth it for Oceanhorn and Bastion and Wayward Sword and Sonic CD and Traps & Gemstones natively supporting it as well. all the http://www.builds.io 3mu1a+0rZ (which somehow get signed and are therefore playable on all firmware versions without jailbreaking) all support MFi too if that is relevant to your interests. it's a really nice pad (despite all outward appearances) and it seriously just works, buy it for yourself next time you need to get yourself a gift or whatever.
I'm babbling now, time for bed
