I'm giving up on the third tier. Im just short of the gold token and five battles from mystique but it's too damn hard

I'm one victory from 50 Hero Points, but it's a 200-something Ladythor, Ragnarok, Loki. Fighting people with 14000 health. I love gauntlet, but it's probably too tough this time. And also, I'm beginning to suspect there's a glitch in new Loki, when he uses Illusions and makes a match, it seems he often gets a bonus purple match. Anyone else thinking that?

Did it! Storm, Magnow, loads of boosts. Next is 249 ** Black Widow, Colossus and Devil Dinosaur.

I don't know. It takes a lot less grinding than what it takes to get three ***-star covers out of a normal pve. And I always forget using boosts elsewhere.

I got the blue she hulk so that I'll be able to 166 my she hulk at 5-3-5 after this current pvp. yay I guess? I don't think I will 166 her for a long time. I want the mystique and loki green but it's just hard. & really I want ISO more than anything.

I finished it. Used a ton of boosts, but it was worth it in my opinion. The hardest node for me was Hood, Loki, Mystique, which I got through by using the match damage boosts.

Getting through one of those tough battles feels good in and of itself. Just got the 2000 iso reward. My She-hulk is weak, so that is a bit tough. Was this close before, in a long battle with Colossus as last man standing, with a nearly wipedout Captain Marvel and a She-hulk with health but no attacks. I needed one black to take him out, he needed one red. Just a rubbish board, trying desperately to make a black match, making sure he didn't get a red, and using she-hulk as much as possible. Finally got the black match! But then there were no more matches, and on the new board he immediately made a cascade that wiped Captain Marvel out, and then next turn Immovable Object + Colossal Punch. Game over. Darn!

Ugh, the mission to get the Mystique is 4* Thor, Rags, and Loki, all 212+. Not sure my roster can handle that.

BTW, is 2* Johnny Storm worth keeping?

I don't think so, but I don't use 2 stars at all anymore unless they're buffed, so I dunno.

my steve rogers is cover maxed but not 166d so this pvp is rough. he's fun to play with but soooooo slow so I've skipped leveling him (well, I have him at 110 or so) in favor of more usable characters. he's good in pve, like hulk; so they're in the queue to level, though really I want to get Blade playable before anything (well, & get 2 more green & 2 more black xforce covers: have him at 229, 3-3-5 but that's a lame spec for making noise in pvp)

with so many characters i am constantly desperate for ISO though

any of you still playing this want to join an alliance? we look for 650-700 min pvp, lately been pushing harder in pve b/c of all the new characters, but nobody spends (much) money & it's pretty laid back. we've been top 100 every season.

dude 650 PVP is pretty hardcore

You actually need a souped up featured character to make that + hours of grinding every weekend

yeah I guess? I hit 8-900 most pvps but I have like 10 166s + a 229 xforce and most 3 stars that aren't 166d I have cover maxed or close. so it's not so hard for me. I do grind a bit, probably play 30-60 mins a day, sometimes a bit more. but yeah.

even if you do a full 166 team, once you start hitting other full 166 teams doesn't it completely grind your progress? i'll usually hit that point around 500pts

not all 166s teams are equal though; and I don't hit that wall until 600 usually. after that though the amount of buff for the featured character matters (since the buffs are nonlinear I think?)

that sounds correct - at full 166, you get boosted all the way to 249. fairly sure you don't get that many levels added for weaker characters

my steve rogers is like 110 but he was only buffed to 167, whereas 166s were buffed to like 249 I think

btw I'm ok with revised Daredevil now. Changes to blue (Billy Club) are ok but beefing up Purple and Red were very nice changes. Purple is good against strike/protect tile spammers and the Red is even more brutal since you can loop the attack

Strangely, I was getting all lollipops as my opponents in the Shulk PVP. Didn't stop me from losing once to a 2* Thorverine combo that probably averaged level 65 because of stupid play.

my daredevil's been at 5-4-4 for a long time, but I haven't leveled him much (maybe he's ~50 or 60?). what's a good spec for him now?

I am loving my newly beefy Falcon: with Patch's green after a couple yellow matches I'm doing 2-3k per match

regarding Daredevil: 5 purple can work well with Patch with 5 green. otherwise 3/5/5.

You guys also furiously trying to stay in the top 50 for that Elektra card?

basically I won the slacker bracket lottery, also I was up until 4 last night working and my machine wasn't working correctly for 3 hours of that time

also fighting Wolverine in these makes me realize how much I was leaning on X-Force Wolvie, since I can't use him

I have my IM40 at 3/4/2 -- should I pump the 53K in ISO to bring him to level 114 (I have 107K in the bank). I think his best team-up on my roster would be with MagNow or Wolvie and/or Storm (all 2*), none of my leveled 3*s have knockout blue/red powers (maybe Hulk).

i have a soft spot for IM40 but to me the blue is his worst power - takes so long to charge (unless you pair him w/MagNow or OBW to generate it) and other 3*s have passed him by in utility. but he's a great tank just for HP levels. if there's no one else you can buff, go ahead!

Yeah, I'd be using him purely as a tanky battery. I want to put that ISO to better use, but the rate at which I'm gaining 3* covers has been SLOW, I don't remember the last PVP where I managed top 50 or 100 even.

Doh, forgot my 2/2/2 Lazy Daken. I can only bring up to 76, which doesn't quite replace the 2*.

Today I got 2 Hood covers from standard tokens. Now my second, unleveled Hood is at 4/3/2. Are certain covers more common than others? For a while I was buried under Patch covers.

yeah - thankfully now they just give you the actual rates for each card in the app (look for the tiny ? on the token purchase screen)
