Must've been a popular weekend - even though I broke the 50K point reward limit for Rocket and Groot PvE, still only ended up 413 out of 1000 in my bracket!
Tanked intentionally in the Rocket PvP to get another 2* Ms. Marvel card.
Will be grinding earnestly in the Psylocke tourney to get a Blade.

took my xforce to 201; can max at 229 only bc 3-3-5. Bleh bc 5-5-3 is where it's at but black at 3 is still strong

Managed to get all the progression awards in the PVE -- first time ever! -- but then got hammered in the Groot PVP, to the tune of ~150. So yeah, kind of over this game again.

Got the 10-pack. One Gold. But that was Nick Fury, who I didn't have, so I'm not complaining.

I got a Beast and Colossus in mine plus enough ISO to bring Hulk up to 127

Welp, my PVP strat finally crapped out for the Thor tourney. Getting hammered all the time. Thems the breaks

I read somewhere on the D3 fora that your opponents are based on the average level of your entire roster.

It definitely wasn't for the previous two tourneys, I was consistently getting low-mid range opponents using the method i described. I got knocked down today about 150 points, so I'm seeing weak ones again, but when I was in the Top 100 I was getting near full strength teams no matter how much I skipped.

They are really pumping out the new characters now. Good changes, too -- Loki is highly annoying now, and Daredevil is at least usable.

4-star Elektra?

Since I never place high enough to earn 4* covers, that's how long it'll take for me to get an Elektra.

Awesome cover they used, though.

Incidentally I pulled my first Sentry cover from a Heroic token this week.

I can't believe how insanely great X-Force Wolverine is now; I'm so glad I never got rid of any of his covers when ppl were saying he was terrible and worthless (can't wait until they do the same to Invisible Woman)

I got a Mystique cover, for some weird reason. That was nice, the last 3-star I missed.

Got Falcon, Doc Ock, and Beast, as well as two 2* Ms. Marvels, good haul

yep. My Daken is badly speced at 3-5-5 but 166d. My blade is 2-2-5, hoping for a tourney with his covers soon. He's ace.

Is muscling through this Gauntlet event worth all the health packs I'm burning through?

I'm 4 missions from reaching the very end, but don't have a Captain Marvel to do the essential quests.

Then it's probably not worth it - you might be able to get the Mystique reward halfway through Tier 3, but the other ones need the full points
I got part way through Tier 2 and the grind was really annnoying me

I'm giving up on the third tier. Im just short of the gold token and five battles from mystique but it's too damn hard

I'm one victory from 50 Hero Points, but it's a 200-something Ladythor, Ragnarok, Loki. Fighting people with 14000 health. I love gauntlet, but it's probably too tough this time. And also, I'm beginning to suspect there's a glitch in new Loki, when he uses Illusions and makes a match, it seems he often gets a bonus purple match. Anyone else thinking that?

Did it! Storm, Magnow, loads of boosts. Next is 249 ** Black Widow, Colossus and Devil Dinosaur.

I don't know. It takes a lot less grinding than what it takes to get three ***-star covers out of a normal pve. And I always forget using boosts elsewhere.

I got the blue she hulk so that I'll be able to 166 my she hulk at 5-3-5 after this current pvp. yay I guess? I don't think I will 166 her for a long time. I want the mystique and loki green but it's just hard. & really I want ISO more than anything.

I finished it. Used a ton of boosts, but it was worth it in my opinion. The hardest node for me was Hood, Loki, Mystique, which I got through by using the match damage boosts.

Getting through one of those tough battles feels good in and of itself. Just got the 2000 iso reward. My She-hulk is weak, so that is a bit tough. Was this close before, in a long battle with Colossus as last man standing, with a nearly wipedout Captain Marvel and a She-hulk with health but no attacks. I needed one black to take him out, he needed one red. Just a rubbish board, trying desperately to make a black match, making sure he didn't get a red, and using she-hulk as much as possible. Finally got the black match! But then there were no more matches, and on the new board he immediately made a cascade that wiped Captain Marvel out, and then next turn Immovable Object + Colossal Punch. Game over. Darn!

Ugh, the mission to get the Mystique is 4* Thor, Rags, and Loki, all 212+. Not sure my roster can handle that.

BTW, is 2* Johnny Storm worth keeping?

I don't think so, but I don't use 2 stars at all anymore unless they're buffed, so I dunno.

my steve rogers is cover maxed but not 166d so this pvp is rough. he's fun to play with but soooooo slow so I've skipped leveling him (well, I have him at 110 or so) in favor of more usable characters. he's good in pve, like hulk; so they're in the queue to level, though really I want to get Blade playable before anything (well, & get 2 more green & 2 more black xforce covers: have him at 229, 3-3-5 but that's a lame spec for making noise in pvp)

Getting through one of those tough battles feels good in and of itself.

any of you still playing this want to join an alliance? we look for 650-700 min pvp, lately been pushing harder in pve b/c of all the new characters, but nobody spends (much) money & it's pretty laid back. we've been top 100 every season.

dude 650 PVP is pretty hardcore

You actually need a souped up featured character to make that + hours of grinding every weekend

yeah I guess? I hit 8-900 most pvps but I have like 10 166s + a 229 xforce and most 3 stars that aren't 166d I have cover maxed or close. so it's not so hard for me. I do grind a bit, probably play 30-60 mins a day, sometimes a bit more. but yeah.

even if you do a full 166 team, once you start hitting other full 166 teams doesn't it completely grind your progress? i'll usually hit that point around 500pts

not all 166s teams are equal though; and I don't hit that wall until 600 usually. after that though the amount of buff for the featured character matters (since the buffs are nonlinear I think?)

that sounds correct - at full 166, you get boosted all the way to 249. fairly sure you don't get that many levels added for weaker characters

my steve rogers is like 110 but he was only buffed to 167, whereas 166s were buffed to like 249 I think
