oh lord going down a rabbit hole on you tube listening to these. I found the tune 'Zeboom' from the Dreamcast game Toy Commander and now I'm just annoyed that this game hasn't been remade.

im kinda heavily into sega coin-ops ca. 1985 - 1992 at the moment, and it is amazing to me how closely the sound design on certain games resemble sounds heard in detroit techno. like there's these two disparate groups of composers and sound designers working contemporaneously and with the same technology making very similar sounds, yet as far as i know jeff mills or whomever has never came out as a massive space harrier head
