No you don't want green maxed, it only lets you pop it at 5 rather than 6, but ow it's the same, no stronger.

I like the new system for tourneys where you get to pick starting/ending time, much more convenient. Too bad the first couple of tourneys have snoozy old prizes like 3* BW and IM.

Also that they're cranking out more characters lately, and more 2*s to collect even if they not gonna be used too often, like the 2* version of Ms. Marvel.

That end-time thing singlehandledly revived my interest. I was this close to deleting the game several times the last few weeks. Yadayadagodfatherquote.

just got my lazy daken to 153, only at 3-5-4 so I can't max him yet. thinking about maxing falcon next? he's so fun in the current pve, and running him with cheap tile generators like (in this pve) mohawk & psylocke, & pun & eventually lazy daken, is great. I like having a utility player in the team, like hood. I wish they'd give spidey an attack power instead of his dumb yellow b/c I'd max him right away if so. he's useful against annoyances like hulk.

thought his blue is no longer godlike, he's still a pretty solid utility player - his heal is still the strongest, and if you're judicious with the web tiles the purple defend tiles can be good

I've been having luck entering the tournaments with inconvenient ending times, whether or not I actually play up until the deadline: I just easily made it to #4 with no retaliatory frenzies towards the end. (I'll be throwing away the yellow IM40 I guess that's part of the reward.)

And prizes for the next PVP are Lazy Dakens -- which might make mine halfway usab... no, at 0/1/1, probably not.

If the daken prizes were purple then I'd get him to 5-5-3 with this, instead it'll be 3-5-5, bleh. still will 166 him at that (153 right now at 3-5-4)

I hate my tournament. It stops in a few hours, I'm at 430 which only places me over 200. And I get attacked like crazy. The key is still to wait, I think.

Have I mentioned how much I love Modern Hawkeye's revamped (Purple) Quick Shot power? One lucky cascade means an instakill on almost any character, tears through teams like butter. Won't be surprised if it gets nerfed at some point.

Yeah, after I accidentally maxed his ISO, he's almost usable! I'm still reluctant to use him in a PVP for defense, though.

He is hilarious in events where he is buffed. Not only does his purple now instakill but his red can effectively wipe out a team that isn't all tanks

Is the principle of avoiding teams worth < 25 points still a valid strategy?

i set the bar at 20, but generally yeah it feels way too slow to grind for less
i'm noticing though that what what determines your PVP opponents more often than not is your avg. character levels less so than point level

yay on 166! I 166d my lazy daken, but at 3-5-5. want 5-3-5 obv. but 5 blue right now is hilar, because it does like 4000 damage in the laken tourney, when I have 4 strike tiles out, for just 5 blue.

I made #2 on the IM40 tourney from earlier in the week; pretty happy with that, since I have a maxed IM40. Currently #1 in the Daken tourney, despite only have a piddly Lv. 83 Lazy Daken I hardly ever used (might as well just abuse the free Lv. 60 they give you)
Just goes to show you can still totally game the PVP system by using lower level teams* and fighting lower level opponents until they force you use to fight tough ones
*on average in this tourney, I tended to use default Lazy Daken, a lvl 100-166 3* character, and a Lv. 75-94 2* character and generally got opponents in the same range. I just kept swapping out characters to grind it out, now sitting at 530 points

Hulk mirror matches are so painful now that the rage power hurts your own team too...

(might as well just abuse the free Lv. 60 they give you)

1 black Mystique
1 yellow Falcon
Plus a purple Magnow that lets me respec him from 5/3/5 to 5/4/4.

So much better than the first two seasons.

Must've been a popular weekend - even though I broke the 50K point reward limit for Rocket and Groot PvE, still only ended up 413 out of 1000 in my bracket!
Tanked intentionally in the Rocket PvP to get another 2* Ms. Marvel card.
Will be grinding earnestly in the Psylocke tourney to get a Blade.

took my xforce to 201; can max at 229 only bc 3-3-5. Bleh bc 5-5-3 is where it's at but black at 3 is still strong

Managed to get all the progression awards in the PVE -- first time ever! -- but then got hammered in the Groot PVP, to the tune of ~150. So yeah, kind of over this game again.

Got the 10-pack. One Gold. But that was Nick Fury, who I didn't have, so I'm not complaining.

I got a Beast and Colossus in mine plus enough ISO to bring Hulk up to 127
