Amy Hennig wrote the scripts and was creative director for all the Uncharted games (recently departed now making unannounced Star Wars game at EA)

I *think* they may think that Amy worked on Jak & Daxter, which she may have a little but certainly wasn't one of the main ppl behind that, she would have still been at Crystal for a lot of that

Amy was one of the principals on Legacy of Kain back at Crystal in the day

Jade Raymond was lead on AC

either way the point that the game industry has often had sexist, hyper-sexualized/objectified, and dumb portrayals of women -- and that by and large protagonists have been white males, is so completely objectively TRUE that you'd have to be some sort of moron to argue otherwise

i mean ppl are bringing up Lara Croft as a counter example, she is literally a female because when they were developing the first one, a programmer thought it would be more pleasant to stare at a hot female butt than a man's butt

King's Quest games suck

i have misremembered the lead in one of the Kain games being a woman. go figure. there was a rush of female protagonists in the wake of Tomb Raider's ridiculous success but not many characters that have hung on till current gen systems.
for non-gamers, it is perhaps instructive to recognize that Sony, the creator of the Playstation and arguably the most important company in console gaming, has claimed "Fat Princess" as their signature female character for the past five years.
