those gone home dev lists are cool! but none of them list the FPS games that are huge on multiplayer wherein kill ratios and the like the dominate. & I think GG discussion centers on keeping *those games* at the center of gaming discourse. like far cry 2 is a shooter but the weakness of your character is a long way from the hyper masculine nonsense of COD etc

i hope all video games become as boring as depression quest so gamers are forced to find something else to do

cld def see bad publicity resulting in some of the more grotesque violent/misogynistic aspects of games being curbed, like a company might think twice before releasing a game where you can patronize a prostitute then steal the money back and kill her if other games received media blowback for similar things, and that would exactly represent an impingement on gamergates vision of artistic freedom

Presumably those targeted are not saying much under the advice of counsel/law enforcement. Online death threats are a good way to get the FBI knocking at your door though.

i honestly think a lot of this is going to melt away as soon as the first gg warrior is dragged out of his basement and into police custody. i am assuming that most of the guys who would threaten anti-gg voices are actually just cowards hiding behind their veil of anonymity and are not actually capable of the violence they claim. that's just conjecture though and i sincerely hope law enforcement is taking all such threats seriously
