I'd never think of doing that, I'd just be like "ah shit another car wasted" and go steal something else.

The next GTA incarnation needs a recovery service where you can phone some dude to pick up your trashed cars and fix them up and run up a tab for you.

san andreas had an impound section in some of the police stations, your last car would be saved there before your arrest. it was underground and i remember seeing a helicopter there on a few occasions lol.

got this yesterday, 2000 xbl points cost me £17 and what I've got left after buying the game isn't really worth anything, so essentially I've just paid £17 for something a third the length of a normal game. Colour me stupid.

I just got this last week. It is so good! Is it me or is this much easier than previous GTAs? I find I complete most missions first go and usually I am terrible at GTA. My last mission was that amazing warehouse shootout after Dmitri kidnapped Roman, the shooutouts are way more controlled and much more strategic.

Also been using the dating service, was pretty funny last night, I went on a date with "Lawchick" aka Kiki and it was going well, really felt we had a connection, then after we caught a nice show at the comedy club this random car came out of nowhere and ran her over, killing her! Oddly she emailed me a few days later saying she felt better and it wasn't my fault and she'd like to see me again.

I did that first time, not being a bragging douche, but a lot of people I talked/read posts of on forums had trouble with it.

I did find this easier than I seem to remember finding older GTAs, although SA was fucking years ago so I'm not sure how true this is.

i got SA for xbla and the cars handle so easily its not really so much fun. i love the realistic physics of GTA4, even if it means the cars are (initially) harder to drive.

no initially about it for me, i was still shit at driving when I finished Lost and the Damned!

switch to 'behind the windshield' view if you can, is much easier, and funner too

yah i did the whole game driving 1st person. i never got used to the slightly-off-to-the-left 3rd person cameras

ok, that bank mission: 1st make sure you're all armored up and have plenty of the m16 ammo. grenades are handy too. for most of it there's no trick, you just have to shoot dudes in the head and keep moving etc. after you get into the subway and then "have to" come out again is the cheap part. the game wants you to jack a car and evade a 3-star wanted level, but you can just walk back down into the subway with your crew and jog north out of the flashing circle. it takes a while. once you get rid of the stars, come out at the nearest stop, hail a cab and go home.

The worst is when they shoot your tires. I always think, wow, why don't cops do that in real life more often?

Also, whenever I see Briggs bank security trucks leaving a real bank when I'm getting out of work, I think, wow, if only I had a rocket launcher and enough time to avoid the cops...

you really get to see much more of the city with the in car view.

its the only way i drive now (though motorcycles are oddly vertigo inducing)

can't do the motherloving nightclub mission :( failed on it numerous times a while ago, keep going back, and keep fucking it up, lots of times failing right at the last.

Does the DLC in this add the new weapons and games to the original GTA game? Haven't finished it but would like new stuff.

a new character, new missions, new weapons (which, i don't think, transfer back to the 'old' game) and new multiplayer modes. it is pretty ace.

I've lost all of my save games (and for grid) thanks to the shitty xbox memory card managing to completely lose the data somewhere between jimd's house and mine.

I traded this in towards Chinatown Wars and suggest that you all follow suit. it's roughly 1384384334343151 times better than GTA4 proper so far.

I think I beat the Three Leaf Clover mission on my first try too, or maybe my second -- not many, in any case. Very Heat like. /duh

I just drove in a fast car for abou three minutes without taking my foot off the gas, finally got to the end of the northenmost motorway between the first two islands and rear ended the last car I saw at terrifying speed

it immediately burst into flames and the driver rocketed out of the windshield on fire

he thrashed around in blind panic, burning, for ages, and when his drop and roll finally worked his car exploded and made him do a little backflip; more cars came and blew themselves up in the process

I called an ambulance, but when the ambulance came the paramedic just irritably said "where's the patient?", because the man had struggled to his feet and was walking down the middle of the freeway into the sunset

then a taxi came and ran him over; I shot the taxi causing the driver to flee

the man continued to walk slowly into the distance; I followed him slowly while some evocative Jean Michel Jarre shit came out of the stereo

when I finally overtook him, I turned round and he had disappeared

he advises having lots of save slots on the go in case you accidentally ding a car on the way to a mission

how do you complete some missions where you *have* to kill some dude?

ie the hospital mission, where you have to kill the guy in the bed

its by killing as few people as possible.

the guy is clearly a mentalist.

there is no reward for doing the game in this way; it is "just for fun"

i'm still yet to use Dwaynes bodyguard option, but Dwayne himself is pretty handy - having knocked out a bouncer with one punch after a night out in the strip joint.
