weakest on steal means fastest and most reliable to get it out. an early purple, even at less AP steal, will set you up great for the rest of the match.

Hmm, you guys sound right. Damn. Shouldn't have sold off that Black OBW card I got last week, I figured I would respec to 5/5/3.

at max black and max level, she hits for a bonus 122 points of damage every time she matches black/purple/blue

I wouldn't sweat it too much, because the flipside is that 11 AP isn't prohibitively harder to reach, especially with Espionage, which means at most 3 total matches (versus at least 2 at 3/5/5), and after you do, you're probably a couple more matches away from getting enough to trigger it again.

At first glance, it looks like the exact same character with a higher level cap

got a blue model 40 cover after shielding up, so only +25 hp but now my model 40's at 5-3-3

ftr 2-star wolvie + high level OBW is BRUTAL, with strike tiles + 5 cover espionage = 1000 damage per purple blue or black hit

So with recent developments I'm going to stop putting ISO into my 2* Thor and instead work on my Astonishing Wolferine.

I gather magnow is good to use in PvP but as an enemy in this last tourney he never got off a hit on me; I was using the aforementioned black panther + OBW + 2-star wolvie and ate up blue and purple as my first priority, and without those he didn't do anything. I suppose he could have set off a red bomb but the AI never did; if it was l85 thor + l85 magnow (as was often the case) the AI would just use Thor's red instead of magnow's.

I guess my point is wondering about what teams are good in PvP not just as offenders, but as AI-played defenders, since losing in PvP seems to drop me 40+ points per loss

The AI is terrible at certain tile change abilities, like Mag Now's Purple or Grey Suit Black Widow's Purple, just throwing them out randomly. The only one I've seen that's actually good on defensive AI is Spider-Man, as the AI actually will wait until it has enough AP to throw out a few stuns to get a loop going.

As I mentioned upthread, OBW/Daken seems to minimize the point loss and even gives me some net positive points like 1 out of 4 nights. Also, the link I posted above sez that a Hulk with 5 black is one of the most intimidating presences that discourages people from playing against him. More within the realm of my experience, I'd say that an opponent with a Bullseye/Daken combo would discourage me from attacking, simply because of how annoying that team would be.

right, I get the intimidation thing, but I wonder if someone---d3p forum dwellers?---has worked out which teams are the best off in PvP on the defensive side, by which I mean which teams maximize your chances of winning PvP battles when the AI is playing for you.

obw daken seems better than 2* wolvie these days. the regen on daken works much better, and reliably spamming strike tiles means much more when paired with obw than wolvie's damage on top + ability to eventually toss out a bunch at once.

The one thing you're really losing is wolvie's red, so you don't have any strong finisher. so if your third has a high dps move than i think its worth it, but otherwise not so sure.

wolvie's red is massive in PvP though, since if you're up against a say l85 thor, OBW's purple can wear down the enemy's red, but can't stop it entirely; but if you get him down to ~3000 hp then you can take him down in one hit, before the red->yellow->green cycle begins

just got a black panther black cover off my hulk reward token, so I have him at 1 blue/2 black---his black attack is gonna be MEAN, no? I can see it crowding out cstorm's blue, esp since it'll team well with OBW's espionage.

I am working away in a town with no wifi and the always online requirement might break this for me. The last few days in Black Panther were ridic - if I was away for 30 minutes I could easily lose 40 points and always over 100 if it was an hour, which conspired to put me in the Cap zone.

Add to that the lighting rounds just screwing me over - my only pairups would be against level 2 and 3 1* characters, proper 200 hp jobs but they would still offer me 20 vps for them, who would then wipe out level 70 teams not just once but 4 and 5 games one after the other; then if I managed to sneak past them it would give me 230s. It just feels broken.

Not much change since last week. My standard team for this Hulk event is Patch/OBW/Black Panther -- AP-using abilities in every color at last.

Kinda OT, but what's the word on the new Ms. Marvel title? I haven't bought a comic in forever.

maxed out magnow + ogbw + thor is real all or nothing shit; i either end with full health and total destruction or i get wiped out entirely.

finally got my OBW black card, respecced to 3/5/5 -- espionage damage is truly disgusting.

yep, I'll take OBW tile attacks over even buffed Thor attacks.

I am loving OBW + Thor + Black Panther in this Hulk tourney. no colors wasted and BP black attack is boosted like mad; I do like 1200 to all enemies and he's only at l28 with 2 black covers

hulk up to lv. 54; def gonna grind IM40 next. once i max level a spidey/punisher/hulk/im40 collective as far as I can, I am gonna be hard pressed not to spend real money on HP for covers unless i luck into a few...
