dammit I don't have MagNow purple, maybe that's why I've been wondering what the big fuss is about him

got my ass served to me last night when I ran OBW/CStorm/MagNow (with my shitty MagNow); lowlight was like aldo's without the raggie column smash. I DIED

MagNow's red isn't bad if you don't have anyone else using red, which I don't when I run OBW/MagNow/Spidey, which allows a whole bunch of blue to feed whichever of OBW/Spi's skills I want to use at any given moment (and occasionally just do one-turn-countdown 1-2k damage attacks)

yeah that was my sitch, I just didn't have the power to win that one. came back later with cap and smashed it.

my l~60 OBW + l~60 CStorm + my maxed Cap have been rocking nicely in the iso-8 tourney. running red with cap turns out to be a pretty steady way to wreck havoc; and getting yellow just leads to an unexpected mid battle battalion of shields that means I take essentially no damage from there on out.

yeah when cap's been required i've been able to use his red as a countdown destroyer with reasonable efficiency. not anyone i'd ever drag along by choice still.

i've had so many wipeouts with the last batch of Brotherhood missions

So I got three heroic tokens from this latest ISO8 level thing. And then I proceed to pull three classic storm covers, a character I've already maxed out.a jkldfjklasjdkfl ajfuaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaafuck.

As it stands, I may have to take a break from this game for a while, so the most I'm going to get to do with it is to sell expiring covers.

Damn, every boost is retired except for Critical.

I'm tempted to start an alliance, but I want to confirm first that you can hold more than 5 people - otherwise it feels like kind of a waste

I hope they have some more of those levels with all 230s. Sure didn't need boosts for those.

Yeah, there are new boosts but all the ones you've won to date are now dead.

Anybody without a levelled Psylocke is going to struggle on the new pvp according to my first three fights.

They like to do these tourneys right after a new character has been introduced, as they shouldn't be too many high-leveled Psylockes out there yet... for now

i admit, i love how under the new PVP system when you get those random victories

i took the last spots, sorry snooze bros

due to not unlocking the new boosts i decided to try and hit this round unboosted (all 230s, basically). didn't emerge from a single fight without one casualty, but nailed them all without a loss. i guess everyone else is reeling/attiring too because this shot me back up to #10 in my main bracket. still haven't tackled a few or the "character required" missions, but at least got thru the core progression. one fight vs. dark avengers i lost patch and psy both so poor spidey was left facing off against a 230 juggs with no strike tiles on the board, whittling away 25-120 pts each hit but miraculously maintaining enough blue to keep that stunlock on. next fight i ran spidey/magnow/patch vs. the dark avengers and a lucky cascade knocked out my patch early on again, with _all three_ 230 da still left, and mags with only 400 life. magnow's purple kept spidey fed, and the red, when he could pull it off was clutch as my only damage ability at all. man that was a slow grind.

so i appreciate that sorta challenge at least, though maybe not in every single fight.

i think i need a new strat, or a team w/better synergy than Iron Man 40/Spidey/Punisher - it's a crapshoot if i can get past the Lvl 150 stages, and 200-ish forget it. And this is with a maxed Spidey and a 128 IM40!

yeah im40 and punisher don't really have much to offer in the goon fights -- there, board control matters way more than pure dps. i imagine they'd be good tanks against dark avengers tho?

looking at your roster, spidey/obw/pun? or spidey/cmags/pun? heck, spidey/daken/obw?

my formula is always spidey + one damage dealer + one other support character of some sort.

Wireless connection is spotty @ home, this may be a fortunate turn of events.

i do even worse against the DA teams, they slaughter me w/DPS before i can get a web loop going
i kind of look at Spidey as the support character, since he's all healing/defense. problem i see with pairing him w/OBW is that you have that blue overlap and deciding which level of heal you want
both my Mags are pretty low, like 40-ish. you're right though, i need a better attacker in the mix

i don't launch into a web loop until i acquire a ton of blue usually. that's why i need either obw or cmags or the like. i never use her blue. instead i use her espionage and purple to deny abilities and feed spidey -- careful play can keep the DA from getting enough AP to set off any really significant moves, and if you notice they have enough to launch something rough, you lock down _just that person_. similarly against daken it pays to have a green user (like patch, or i guess ares would work too) and you _just_ lock him down whenever you want to collect green. once he gets a few strike tiles out he's deadly, so denying those is key to ever winning those fights.

i agree spidey is support, but to take on those massive teams you need the synergy of two different support players and to play basically defensively, mitigating their ability to demolish you until you've acquired enough AP to take them down quick.

The main advantage of patch in this situation is that once he gets out his green, you don't need too many turns of stunlock to knock down the opposing team. obw has double synergy too because with espionage damage she can make those strikes hit twice. I've taken down 5000 hp at once with the right lucky cascade.

I'm basically alternative with Magsnow/OBW/Storm and Magsnow/OBW/Thor. RIP Wolvie, finally.

i just hit my 13th cover (and 14th cover, because i wanted to respec from 4/5/4 to 3/5/5 last night)! i've really liked magnow for a while, love how many covers they've been giving me lately. got him up to 67 or so, boy does that red do damage when he's got that 100% boost or whatever it is... i have a feeling i'll be disappointed after this event. but 9 purple -> 5 blue conversion w/ a free critical tile is disgusting. I love it.

I've gotten like 4 or 5 Mag Now covers over the last week through tokens and rewards. naturally, none of them are the one I need for respec, Purple

for the past week or so, every time I win a heroic coin from an event, I've been getting standard coins instead

It's not a Heroic token that becomes a Standard after the expiration date? It starts off as a Standard?? D:

you're supposed to get Heroic or Assault Team special tokens for placing high in the daily Brotherhood events, but they just give you standard tokens

mine have been heroic/2 star tokens but they may as well not have been

same -- nothin' but storm, already maxed out

i got one of those gold "standard" tokens the other day in addition to three actual standard tokens... somehow my 4 pulls had 3 ** -- probably small sample size if nobody else got good pulls from their high-ranked standard pulls...?
