Re: alienation of hardcore users, it certainly seemed easier for me in last weekend's tournament. I managed to place in the top 3 for the first time (Spidey covers!), and didn't seem to get attacked too often. Mostly used Wolvie/IM40/OBW (with Cap on standby).

That said, the latest events have been lame.

Yeah, this for me, too. I had C Storm, MBW, and Ast. Wolfie. Grenadier's Rocket went off, killing Wolfie instantly and leaving the other two with under 100 health. Thankfully, I ate some hot dogs and was able to clear all the remaining countdown tiles.

If you're seeing a skip tax, it shouldn't be there. If you lost an at all appreciable amount of Iso on it, please contact customer support. We're looking into why some users have seen this appear when none of the Tournies have it enabled and design on it isn't even final.

If you think it's appreciable, go for it. That comment is more for the people that would make ticket over 10 Iso. Sure, if you're that angry over it, go for it, ticket away. We won't stop you and we'll still help. But 100 people ticketing over 10 Iso and 5 minutes per ticket for our team to research it means a ton of time used up for stuff that could go elsewhere.

i don't see what's unreasonable about that. i mean you can make back 20 iso in a garbage fight, if it was like 500 iso then maybe it's worth it

what's unreasonable is that they left the game broken to the extent that it was basically unplayable, didn't respond on their own forums for a week and then came back with this nonsense, as if it's the main beef players have with the game now

they definitely screwed up - but the implication there is that they're trying to fix THAT huge screw-up while this 10 iso thing is really a drop in the bucket. (not to forgive the greater sin there) the frustration by forum mod IceIX has been showing. also their support system is horrifically slow, i won't defend it - look how long it took them to fix that daily resupply bug, we had two or three events in the meantime

why are we obliged to read between the lines that they are trying to fix a massive and currently ongoing screwup? They're here to talk about a mystery 10iso tax that isn't happening now but will eventually; but no comment on the fact that they broke the game? The game that's still broken?

they have said they're going to fix the screwup. but its been like in passing. they respond in the middle of various threads instead of in a centralized way, so you have to browse around. the 10iso thing they said they're holding off on because of negative feedback, so they might not do it.

they do intend to rerun the two events with broken scaling with fixed scaling.

and they disappeared not for a week, but over the weekend.

when they were presumably enjoying their weekend and not working.

don't let the anger on the forums make you actually care about the day to day of what is, after all, a game about matching tiles

i guess i don't really care but it's fun to hate faceless authority especially when they're stopping me from needlessly wasting my time

Made it to #5 in No Holds Barred, let's see how far back I slide (kind of hope the top 75, actually, because I don't have room for the Hood, and I could still use Wolverine covers), because eff a shield.

i just had two matches out of 3 where i faced a decent but beatable team that included OBW and got completely fucking burned both times by espionage and heals and lucky tile falls for her. so fucking annoying. so fucking impossible to deal w/ her when chip damage gets healed every 5-10 turns and she consistently makes sure you don't have gems to use anything higher damage attacks. UGH

best part is that if i had won either of those matches i probably could've shielded up and left it comfortably in the 6-15 range but noooo i get to keep hovering around making me wonder if the shield is even worth it if i am only 30 points away from 16th place. ughhhh

Who takes precedence when they're both on the team? I usually go for Storm, because her green ability has way too much potential to create a self-sustaining loop.

depends on how low level storm / obw is; i take out whoever's easiest to kill first.

I tend toward OBW first though because the heal can extend CStorm's ability to loop

I suppose one benefit of their having nerfed wolvie is that I can spend green for cstorm's power again

well let's be real about it, there's no way 2-star Wolvie/2-star Thor should unambiguously be the best possible combo to use in the game, like at that point why even have 3- or 4-star characters unless they're like FORCE FIELD DOOM - 40 Green: Invisible Woman casts a force field and the targeted character is deleted from the opponent's roster?

oh I get that, but it was soooooo much fuuuuuuuuuun

the Daken/Wolvie combo was seriously hilarious because you easily flood the board with strike tiles, massively boosting all of your already-considerable damage, while having two characters who would heal every round as long as you kept enough yellow on the board

i found a fun run with magnow/obw/daken lately that works well if you have some boosts.
Magnow's purple leads to a run of blues which can either clear the board or heal so you can mix that with green strike attack tiles and occasional purple obw steals and cycle for awhile. not super effective but fun to play!

i have been using magnow (53) and obw (85) as often as possible together, usually with a third of whoever-they-make-me-bring (or IM40 lvl 89 if I get to pick). the magnow purple + obw is just overpowered. plus if you have im40, then there's the yellow power, meaning purple, yellow and blue matches all = blue matches (which can either be heals or, if your team's healthy, im40's kill-everyone attack).

i'm sure OBW is gonna get a nerf at some point, she's in a huge portion of the teams I'm seeing. healing is one thing, but then you factor in the extremely good and loopable AP steal, you team her up with someone like Storm or Spider-Man who has a good blue ability, even my team has trouble killing a single Lvl 85 OBW.

they're gonna nerf spider-man's blue power too i'm sure, that shit is too good. i'm actually hesitant in boosting his Blue power (have extra cards from the last Wolvie tourney - JELLY, FORKS?) since i'm afraid they're gonna nerf it. i can either go 5/4/4 or 5/3/5

obw's best enemy is obw, just like spidey and spidey. you can use your espionage to keep them from getting enough up for a heal or a steal. and if they get off a heal, that's almost ok, because you've built up lots of colors while they just built up enough to heal themselves, and then they just burned it.

i just don't fight mstorm in swamp because those she's too good at picking up env tiles. anywhere else she's ok.

Latest update seems to have dropped the difficulty some on heroic mode. I'm getting several trivials now.

Now all I get are wolvie and thor cards.

xp Jeff, same, the only outrageous mission is the final mission (which I couldn't get to before), as it used to be... grind time before the tourney ends. But there's not that much motivation - if you're in the top 50 you get one Daredevil card, higher ranks just get your more iso/HP.

Forks, you should definitely be getting in on this Wolvie tourney right now - your 85 Ast. Wolvie/85 Thor/OBW or whatever filler is good enough to get you some Spidey cards from this

I've started buying heroic tokens when they go on sale for 100 HP. Got an Invisible Woman yesterday. I've also been getting Thors/Wolvies up to level 13 then selling them for 100 HP while that offer is available.

hm, that would run about 1000hp though, right?
i have made dual respecs for both thor and wolvie but beginning to realize unless i want to totally relevel them up to 85, it's not gonna be worth it.
