yeah, i gave up on SHIELD training long ago, too hard now

the thing is, you will get HP if you place in the top 100 of these tourneys, and you also get HP rewards just by going up the ladder at X tourney points, so factor that in. in this case, i probably got 50 HP from the tourney ladder and 100 from the rewards at the end - if i spent 100HP on the 3 hour shield i've would've stll come out profiting. but since i had nothing else to do tonight, i just grinded it out till the end

this was a much easier decision for that tourney where the 3hr shield only cost 50HP. those bastards

ISO tax is there for me sometimes, other times not. Weird.

The bracket that I'm in, it doesn't look like I'll be reaching the HP progression reward, especially now since we have only one shot at beating the opponent.

So after being on the verge of breaking 1000 in SHIELD Vs., finally reached it (last night I was literally 118 hit points away from reaching it), I got my Doom cover and was disappointed that level 15 Imagine Dragons only brings like 70 damage per turn right now.

Broke 100 points in the Oscorp Heroic, almost entirely from re-playing that second stage.

wolvie is such crap now. kinda hate this game at present

I was #3 in the Thor tourney when I went to bed, with about 3 hours to go. Woke up having only won the "in the top 150" reward tier. I thought all you lot were too busy watching the Superb Owl to be playing this?

Actually, I think Wolvie is still usable! Helped quite a bit in my lineup of C Storm and OBW in taking down the Prologue mission with the Daken covers (which, yay, now I have 3/3 after having had to sell a bunch due to roster limitations a couple weeks ago).

aldo, soz about that, last few hours are the most frantic, but yeah, that's a big slide.

Irony is that after D3 alienated all the middlecore users, it's been a lot better for me in tournaments, personally.

yeah, i've been scoring well by bug or by grind but man it's just no fun

the heroic tourney is shitty because ooooh weeeeee it is fun to play with MBW and Model 35, plus my wolvie that soaks damage now and then takes a giant hit killing him off

what I want is the slow daily accrual of progress, through playing for maybe half an hour, click click click, level a few times, maybe get an ok cover every few days. PvP stressing over placement is totally a no go for me

still hooked but generally agree with your sentiments. i'm ok with wolvie nerf since i went 5/5/3, his red power is much better, his green power is less OP but still good. healing ability obviously sucks compared to Patch/Daken

still a little salty about Thor, want to sell but do i really want to grind up the 100,000 iso to get him back to Lvl 85? eh

the Hulk/Daken synergy is pretty good
as is Spider-Man/Original Black Widow

played two battles against lvl 195 bullseye/pyro/pyro. both times wolvie got knocked out by a pyro, and i was left keeping the rest on stunlock with no ability to deal reasonable damage (and hitting for 1 point until i cleared the bullseye protect tiles). dullest, slowest, matches i've played yet.

I beat some of the stages in this heroic mode just by having by team get hit by bombs and having classic Storm's yellow ability go off three times. C. Storm is level 77. All the other characters I can use are in the 30s or lower.

Re: alienation of hardcore users, it certainly seemed easier for me in last weekend's tournament. I managed to place in the top 3 for the first time (Spidey covers!), and didn't seem to get attacked too often. Mostly used Wolvie/IM40/OBW (with Cap on standby).

That said, the latest events have been lame.

Yeah, this for me, too. I had C Storm, MBW, and Ast. Wolfie. Grenadier's Rocket went off, killing Wolfie instantly and leaving the other two with under 100 health. Thankfully, I ate some hot dogs and was able to clear all the remaining countdown tiles.

If you're seeing a skip tax, it shouldn't be there. If you lost an at all appreciable amount of Iso on it, please contact customer support. We're looking into why some users have seen this appear when none of the Tournies have it enabled and design on it isn't even final.

If you think it's appreciable, go for it. That comment is more for the people that would make ticket over 10 Iso. Sure, if you're that angry over it, go for it, ticket away. We won't stop you and we'll still help. But 100 people ticketing over 10 Iso and 5 minutes per ticket for our team to research it means a ton of time used up for stuff that could go elsewhere.

i don't see what's unreasonable about that. i mean you can make back 20 iso in a garbage fight, if it was like 500 iso then maybe it's worth it

what's unreasonable is that they left the game broken to the extent that it was basically unplayable, didn't respond on their own forums for a week and then came back with this nonsense, as if it's the main beef players have with the game now

they definitely screwed up - but the implication there is that they're trying to fix THAT huge screw-up while this 10 iso thing is really a drop in the bucket. (not to forgive the greater sin there) the frustration by forum mod IceIX has been showing. also their support system is horrifically slow, i won't defend it - look how long it took them to fix that daily resupply bug, we had two or three events in the meantime

why are we obliged to read between the lines that they are trying to fix a massive and currently ongoing screwup? They're here to talk about a mystery 10iso tax that isn't happening now but will eventually; but no comment on the fact that they broke the game? The game that's still broken?

they have said they're going to fix the screwup. but its been like in passing. they respond in the middle of various threads instead of in a centralized way, so you have to browse around. the 10iso thing they said they're holding off on because of negative feedback, so they might not do it.

they do intend to rerun the two events with broken scaling with fixed scaling.

and they disappeared not for a week, but over the weekend.

when they were presumably enjoying their weekend and not working.

don't let the anger on the forums make you actually care about the day to day of what is, after all, a game about matching tiles

Made it to #5 in No Holds Barred, let's see how far back I slide (kind of hope the top 75, actually, because I don't have room for the Hood, and I could still use Wolverine covers), because eff a shield.

haha I beat Nhex the first time I got him but yeah the second time his team was stacked

i just had two matches out of 3 where i faced a decent but beatable team that included OBW and got completely fucking burned both times by espionage and heals and lucky tile falls for her. so fucking annoying. so fucking impossible to deal w/ her when chip damage gets healed every 5-10 turns and she consistently makes sure you don't have gems to use anything higher damage attacks. UGH

best part is that if i had won either of those matches i probably could've shielded up and left it comfortably in the 6-15 range but noooo i get to keep hovering around making me wonder if the shield is even worth it if i am only 30 points away from 16th place. ughhhh

Who takes precedence when they're both on the team? I usually go for Storm, because her green ability has way too much potential to create a self-sustaining loop.
