I think I may have made myself permanently stuck in corrypt five minutes before it gets interesting. good work thomp

nothing a little relentless hammering of the undo button shouldn't be able to solve
― a chance to cross is a chance to score (anonanon), Friday, 31 January 2014 17:59 (twelve years ago)
slayin is better than you give it credit for. its a real grind, but its all about learning to play it increasingly well, not about upgrading your character between runs. its more like super hexagon or something than an rpg tbh.

Spelltower is a+ if you like to spell and make towers
― stet, Friday, 31 January 2014 21:32 (twelve years ago)
ok so i didn't realise i could undo more than one room at a time, i thought i'd borked it by leaving a room in a broken state
i also just played it continuously until i won ('won'). friday night yeah woo

FLAPPY FUCKING BIRD!

Tiny Wings? I've become hopelessly addicted to that, thanks to YOU PEOPLE
― Kim Wrong-un (Neil S), Tuesday, 4 February 2014 11:41 (twelve years ago)
xpAmazing that something so inane could be so infuriating. Probably down to the anxiety of knowing that you're a slight twitch or screen obscuring notification away from losing at any point, plus the jarring effect of having to unlearn decades of positive associations with the green pipes in Mario games.
Got 65 then deleted the damn thing, simply isn't worth the stress.

Picked up 1,000,000,000 (or whatever the # is), hoping it will break my current addictions
― Nhex, Tuesday, 4 February 2014 13:50 (twelve years ago)

― Karl Malone, Tuesday, 4 February 2014 13:54 (twelve years ago)

― socki (s1ocki), Tuesday, 4 February 2014 14:56 (twelve years ago)
amphetamines, coffee; methadone, heroin, tomato, tomahto
― Nhex, Tuesday, 4 February 2014 15:17 (twelve years ago)
ok flappy bird is pretty perverse but once you get past the first bunch of pipes and it turns into a straight RPG its kind of amazing
― socki (s1ocki), Tuesday, 4 February 2014 22:44 (twelve years ago)
wait, its an rpg?
― PSY talks The Nut Job (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 4 February 2014 22:46 (twelve years ago)
yeah, i'm curious to hear more about that. my friend at work was showing it to me today, and...after watching him go through 15 pipes and die 3 times in a row, i thought that's all there was
― Karl Malone, Tuesday, 4 February 2014 22:48 (twelve years ago)
i couldn't get through ONE pipe, promptly erased and moved on. By the way, Front Wars is advance wars, carefully remade and dressed up for iOShttp://www.gamezebo.com/games/front-wars/review

protip: turn up the sound for the water level
― eric banana (s.clover), Tuesday, 4 February 2014 23:03 (twelve years ago)
But it’s worrisome that we live in a world that would rocket an almost entirely mindless game like this to insane levels of popularity. Forget video games, what does that say about society as a whole? Have we reached a level of boredom bordering on dangerous if we’re spending our time en masse on something so pointless?

I Love Flappy Bird
― 龜, Wednesday, 5 February 2014 14:40 (twelve years ago)
the only part of Flappy Bird i enjoy is the spyhunter-esque sequence after you clear the first 40 pipes
― Karl Malone, Wednesday, 5 February 2014 14:46 (twelve years ago)
Wow, flappy bird is not for me. rage inducing. I can't get past 3.
― Jeff, Wednesday, 5 February 2014 15:04 (twelve years ago)
FB is an exercise in restraint. u have to get to a state of no-flap.

The mobile game "Flappy Bird" generates $50,000 per day in ad revenue for its Vietnamese developer, Dong Nguyen. Nguyen told The Verge Feb. 5 that the game will not likely receive any more updates because "anything added to the game will ruin it somehow."

― Philip Nunez, Friday, 7 February 2014 18:24 (twelve years ago)
i got a gold medal and haven't really picked it up since, but there's a satisfying difficulty level and when you're in the zone it's entrancing
― Mordy , Friday, 7 February 2014 18:25 (twelve years ago)
anyone try Threes? that's getting some hype right now
― Nhex, Friday, 7 February 2014 18:53 (twelve years ago)
Number 1 on the App Store currently.
― Jeff, Friday, 7 February 2014 18:54 (twelve years ago)
I haven't tried it, just looks like one of those games that would infuriate me.
OK, I take everything back. Threes is insanely addictive. I like how it gets where you think you're screwed, you make a couple of good moves and then you're DOMINATING.
