he's pretty awesome, but like Cap, largely an HP soak/AP charger since you won't get too attacks out for a long time. Even the Yellow ability increases cost at each level, so you need a lot of Yellow matches before that hits

nah, because Thor's special attacks are so good (for now). Thor is an offensive machine, all you need is the 6 red AP to start off a yellow > green loop. he has no real weaknesses at this point

it's all dependent on tile placement, though; maybe it's just because he's sitting in the mid-60s for me right now (I think 63?) but whenever I try to launch a Thor chain, I just end up setting up the board for my opponent to do an amazing cascade

the real trick is to actually store up 12 red or more, so you get at least two of those off, you're guaranteed at least one free yellow match/cascade

yeah, that makes sense; I'm still mostly building my offense around Astonishing Wolvie's green-red combo so I never really exercise Thor

it's also fun loading up on blue tiles with Spidey and rolling stuns on the opposing team

seriously though wtf is with the levels of the enemies in scotland yard. no rhyme or reason to when they're like level 50 and when they're level 10000

I get what's being said about lightning tourneys but the same is happening there: all my matchups are against teams where the lowest powered is maybe 5 levels above my highest powered and I just can't get a way in against the hideously lucky drops the opposition always seems to get. And when it comes to the regular tourneys, I am hideously limited in what fights I can actually do by not having had beneficial recruits elsewhere.

I'll stop moaning now, as everybody else seems to be managing fine.

naw, you're describing the game before you fully level a 2 star character really

more to the point, before you get 4+ covers for a 2-star character

it's ok - just trying to help you game their system a bit. there are a lot of tricks
if you keep playing in tourneys and losing (or just retreating from matches), you start getting matched up with fake opponents, with names like "KicksThatKick" or "HAIGAYZDOOM" and these teams will have preset enemy levels, usually something like 10/1/1 or 25/30/20. easy pickings, surprisingly forgiving system. and of course don't forget to SKIP SKIP SKIP

agreed, the game can be tough until you get at least one good 2* character that's like 4/2/2

depends what the return is. I'd spend them if I had them, only have 150 now. have a lot of roster spots & wouldn't be averse to dumping my dumb belena yelova or bagman

no, it keeps declining all the way down. you're guaranteed at least a heroic draw but so what?

you still get stuff. 400-1k: heroic x3, 1k-3k heroic x2, 3k-4k heroic x1, everyone else heroic x1 (with some varying iso-8 from 2k to 500 in there too but who cares tbh when it costs 300 hp)

the funny thing abt "ONLY USE HP FOR COVER SLOTS" tho is that like... after you get a certain number of cover slots... why bother? like are you really gonna keep using that lvl 20 original hawkeye dawg?

i mean im only spending hp on cover slots full stop b/c OCD collect collect collect but i recognize the kinda absurd pointlessness of it (pointless even relative to, say, playing this game in the first place)

willm: i'm on that pokemon ish in that i'm not gonna be happy unless i have a full roster. besides, they have a habit of buffing obscure characters regularly and it's good to have them in reserve just in case. and anyway, there's gonna be new characters rolled out weekly at least for this thing so unless you wanna ultimately go sophie's choice, i want the option to shelf all my guys.

I just sold my IM35 and Juggernaut (both L40) this weekend, but can't bear yet to part with M Storm or MBW, too many fond memories with those two.

Also, pretty done with PVP (I mean, till the next one) when all my hard work in the Army of One event netted me all of one Patch cover (I got as high as the mid-20s before the big backslide).

need one green cover to complete my patch. after that maybe i'll try to just stop playing this game for a while.
