Using Original Black Widow and Modern Storm with maxed green, I managed to take down two Impossible-rated teams in one of the Hulk stages. Wow.

I've been afraid of using OBW because she doesn't have MBW's stun -- are you using her passive / AP stealing abilities to make up for that?

The add +4 to th countdowns is pretty sweet.

Yeah -- let them have their turn, then steal their AP.

the espionage steal + damage bonus can be really good - i won't be surprised if it gets nerfed

i've never seen anyone use yelena to any great effect yet; she's the one character I've not put a level in.

I immediately sell all yelanas.

I had one, started playing a bit, sold her to free up space. Now I keep getting more recruit tokens!

Ok, what about dark avengers venom?

AFAICT Venom is a damage sponge who can really hurt you if his damage is buffed but is otherwise ignorable

there is some glitch where the last mission on the Venom quest against Yelena and two maggia goons is saying it's "easy" which is completely friggin wrong for me

to the extent where the two 27 level goons can kill my characters in two shots :/

lol I eventually learned not to pay attention to the difficulty descriptions on the mission page.

How I got through those Yelena missions is to make sure to have MBW and M Storm, then match green and blue like a fiend to Lightning Attack/Stun them if I can't manually get rid of the countdown tiles.

Yeah, I died frequently in the mission called "Yelena Belova" while it was listed as Trivial.

omg I think I've actually kicked the game! I'm freeeeeeee.

running with obw, wolvie & spidey. Lucky match 5 lets me put up two tiles first turn. Next match kicks off a cascade. By the time its over, lvl 85 thor downed.

another fun win. buffed im40, wolvie, spidey. only gsbw left from the opponent team, full health. board fulla strike tiles. im40's three yellows kick in, setting off a cascade of matches knocking out gsbw before i make a single match.

i dunno about these "shields" for events; seems like a cheap way to make people need to buy in game currency

i thought so too, but it's not as bad as I thought, because you can't start any matches or you break the shield - so others can rank past you while you're inactive. i've already been going past people in the top 10 in my Double Shot tourney with shields. but i imagine by the last hour or so, all the hardcores will be shielded, so we'll see how bad the effect is

building up original black widow to level fifty before turning attention to hulk. not seeing much point to IM40; still kinda a lame character to me.

the recharge ability is amazing. the rest of him is eh

Original Black widow's powers seem pretty strong when leveled and a good match for thor/wolvie.
so i'm missing 215 potentially usable covers and have worked in 243. this fucking thing's endgame is endless and brutal.

endgame? lol there won't be any endgame until you just get sick of it. i'm surprised we haven't already gotten a new character/campaign since Hulk ended, but i suppose they deserve a vacation

i imagine you need lvl 100+ characters to beat those crazy lvl 240 missions they stick in the story episodes. the only one i have with another covers to get there is Iron Man 40 (at lvl 96), and i'm gonna need a lot more ISO for everybody

I feel like I need to know more Marvel lore for the boosts. Does Wolverine count as a mutant? How do I know who's in the X-Men?

they're pretty bad about that honestly - they really should make it more clear. i'm a hardcore Marvel Zombie and I'm not sure if the Anti-Brotherhood or Mutant boosts affect Juggernaut. (let's not even get into the "is Spider-Man a mutant?" thing)

I started playing IM40/Wolverine/Daken in the current tourney, which has been super fun (if I can get a double recharge, it is usually game over)

Also, they could solve the boost issue with icons on the character stat page pretty easily

the level 240 missions were totally doable with somewhat weaker teams, although you won't win every time -- i got them all the first hulk event at least once. wolvie + spidey + lots of boosts. it helped a bunch that wolvie and spidey were buffed for the event. the key against rags & overpowered juggs is to a) play defensively and just deny red matches as much as possible and b) know when there's enough red for a headbutt and make sure yr least essential character gets taken down by it. beyond that, build up strike tiles, and build up blue for stunlock. i also had a very dramatic match where everyone was taken down in my team but cap with about 200 health, and he was left facing juggs with maybe 2000 health? i had just enough blue to keep juggs in a stun loop and whittle him down.

finding that starting with 1 green/black +3 boost I can beat anyone in the double up tourney with wolvie + model 40 + thor

hulk & punisher are gonna be fab if I can hang in there that long

Thor is prob a better tank but I just like spamming the board full of Daken tiles and then matching them away to make room for stronger Wolvie tiles while IM40 pumps reds

swapping between Wolvie and Daken and watching them heal up from dmg while the other one tanks for a bit is also fun

My level 38 original black widow is awesome, great for expedited healing. Just go to a lower level, focus and getting the blues and then use maxed out anti-gravity device. 500+ health each time.

And if you do it on a spidey level, you can use his yellow power as well.

I typically use "Rocket Men" in the Osborn chapter - it's 3 weak Hammer soldiers, I can usually get off one or two OBW heals in a run. Even if you get hit, it's only a few hundred HP. Any other good safe stages for this sort of thing?

I use venom - tall dark nasty. Just block him from getting black.

heavily levelled anger can knock out two players! I've been ganked by it a few times now.
