Trying to get the 3-cover C Storm, but there's an hour left, I'm sick and sleep-deprived and the number of people attacking me is so relentless that I think I'm going to cut my losses and just hope that I don't sink to low.

I'm sick of these high level Ragnarok's laying waste to me in the Hulk levels.

he is a sour bastard. my l84 wolvie though eats him up 95% of the time because if Raggie gets his red attack then I'll be sure to get green the next turn, and my feral claws stack madness, and I can heal his red attack in one turn. the other 5% though he gets some ridic chain and there's no hope: from 3000+ hp to 0 in one turn.

once I get a Raggie up to 5-5 then him + wolvie will be unstoppable

i've been experimenting with thor 85 / wolvie 68 / magnow 42 or wolvie 68 / modhawk 36 modstorm 50 as a good mix. Can't wait till i can get wolverine up to a level where he takes damage on red/yellow before thor. is that an actual thing?

but yeah, maybe I shouldn't max thor. in the hulk tourney I could have soloed with wolvie; I've been using thor + the good cap'n also but except for the occasional yellow hit my thor's been silent

With the Hulk tourney buff, Wolverine always hits Red/Yellow before Thor; I keep Thor around for his specials, he's a must for taking down Ragnarok quickly

When Daken is available to use, my main Hulk tourney team is 85 Thor / 73 Wolverine (and rising) / 53 Daken. I swap him out for another tank or assist, like Iron Man 35, 44 Hawkeye Modern, or 76 Cap.

we're playing the same way nhex, but i'm finding that daken's green match buff is kind of a pain when you level up wolvie as high as we have him? like i'd rather save the red for the +100 per hit than +16

I don't really conserve the Red strike tiles - I always match them, but having those extra dmg + wolvie's extra dmg definitely helps over the course of the battle, since (purely guessing here) at least 2 out of 3 turns you won't be able to match Red so they're just sitting there passively. Two Red matches, burn 'em and use Mjolnir's Might. Plus, Daken's has healing ability and is an easy sacrifice play for those sniper shots, since he's not a huge loss if he goes down.

What I do love is that both Daken and Wolvie only take 10 minutes to resurrect! Most characters take closer to an hour. Pop them in a prologue mission and heal all that back, who needs health packs.

Somehow from my nonstop playing yesterday plus getting big pun in the tournament I jumped up to like 250th in the hulk tourney... Might have to start tanking for 3x hulk, I don't have any xwolv covers and I can't imagine ill get any more any time soon...

No need to tank anymore, now you get the next tier of rewards too, so you get X-Force Wolvie + 3x Hulk cards in spots 1-300. I'm constantly fighting to stay in that Top 300 tier.

i was at #1 on the last mightiest campaign last night with twenty minutes to go; fell to like 34 while i was actively speed fighting. the ranking system is simply unfair; the game beats you down at every opportunity.

that said, i recently got a purple spidey, my first jim lee magneto and a spare punisher so i can't complain too much

Me, finally getting the 50 HP reward, which I needed to give me a total of 150, from a Prologue mission that pretty much requires me to boost myself up the gills: Yay! New roster space!

Top 5 In the avengers tourney. Was 1 but some dorks beat me. Anyway, got 3 punishers, so I can do those missions where he is req.

Steam says I've put 59 hours into this. No characters at level 40 yet.

Like number specific? Dont think so. It ends by telling you that you were "in the top 100"

seems like the made the Hulk missions a little tougher this time around. getting smoked in the Black Widow tourney

Seriously I've been smoked by hulk (specifically hulk) a couple of times now, v frustrating!

Any tips on good ways of powering up higher level characters? I have a four-star level 30 Invisible Woman but no idea how to get another card so I can give her powers. She makes for a decent tank but she has only one power, which takes forever to activate (and isn't very helpful). Given that I refuse to spend even $1 on this game, is there any hope?

That seems unlikely to occur.

I haven't spent a dime on this, but countless hours of my time, which actually now that I think about it was probably an awful trade, even on my salary. But anyway! I've placed #1 once or twice - lots of grinding, some luck involved in getting a "weaker" bracket. Once you get one or two characters into the LVL 70s and above it becomes somewhat doable. Through some tourneys and some lucky draws I actually have my Invisible Woman boosted to 4 cards - all that crappy green power :/

How long do you keep your one-star heroes before you get rid of them?

why would you get rid of them? there are often tourneys and such. I've had no problem getting additional cover space; don't ever EVER spend coins on anything but that and you should have plenty of roster room even if you're not paying anything.

I only figured this out after making a few bad early decisions :(

BUT. Note that in my research I've gotten 80% rates for 1* drops in Standard Recruit tokens. You can easily get 3-10 a day from these tourneys, so feel free to sell off any of your 1*s when you get fresh ones.

Considering I just finished at 20 for the NML tourney with my lousy roster, coupled with the fact that serious players seem to be down on IW, I wouldn't put winning a tourney beyond reach.

That's assumimg you're willing to play this virtually nonstop for two straight days, of course.

I'm doing this Black Widow tournament now, and I must say that BW Original is great. Once I get a small stockpile up, I can prevent the other team from playing.
