God my compulsive need to collect used games will be the end of me. Did pick up NHL'12 and Shadows of te Damned when I was in Kamloops last week, and the Best of the PSN disc today, just to get Sound Shapes and Tokyo Jungle for twenty bucks

Just realized I can do the same thing with free ps4 games that can be done with vita games thru ps+. "Purchase" all of em thru the web interface, even tho I own neither platform and probly won't for a coupla years. Free Resogun!

Yeah, I expect this is going to go the same way vita did for me, I'll get to the point where I've got so many games already that not buying the console seems like a waste.

There is a part in Brothers (360 version) about halfway through that I got stuck on. I looked up the solution and it seems like the game actually was broken. I did exactly the same thing and the animation that allows you to get the key never happened. Really frustrating because I was enjoying the game a lot up to that point.

Likewise, never got round to buying brothers (as I was moving house and my xbox was packed), so I'll gladly take it for free on ps+!

Finally did my usual "wait until Playstation (x) comes out and buy Playstation (x-1)" thing a couple weekends ago. And then signed up for a year of PS+ on recommendations here. Whuh oh. So far, I have GTA IV, Ni No Kuni, the Ico/SotC two-pack, and Unfinished Swan, with Katamari Forever and Journey/Flower/Flow on the way. And a bunch of PS+ downloads. I'm loving everything so far (kinda waiting on Ni No Kuni, which my GF says she wants to play, which means she wants to play it for five minutes and then just watch me play). Brothers makes the hemispheres of my brain feel like they're pulling themselves apart in a good way. Never played anything like that before so I have no idea if that style of gaming is old hat by now or what. Oh, and I also kinda off-handedly bought Skyrim (having not played a console RPG since probably FFVII) and I am freaking addicted. Guess I might get a couple of the FF games while there's still a deep discount.

I wanna dig deeper and see what's out there after years of ignorance, but I'm already all "Bye bye, time," so it probably wouldn't hurt to just chill with this stuff for the time being.

Is Dark Souls a free download or just discounted for PS+ members? I didn't see it among the free stuff. And, yeah, per recommendations above, I'm downloading or "purchasing" everything that's free. Maxin' out the value.

i think dark souls was one of their temporary offers; some of the games are part of their permanent collection and some are available for a month and then accessible if you erase and then redownload them but not if you didn't get them from jump. It's worth buying.
LOTS of the ps+ stuff is junk but enough is not that it's worth just getting the whole kaboodle and wading thru

Looks like the Final Fantasy deep discounts are already over. I'm clearly going to have to stay way the hell on top of this.

It looked upthread like PS+ people w/o a PS4 were able to purchase the free PS4 games but I couldn't figure out how. I did manage to snag all of the current Vita games, though. Which feels like some kind of an accomplishment, despite the fact that I didn't even know Vita was a thing before this week.

Click the "purchase" button on every single ps+ offering, but cancel the download when it starts. It should keep every game accredited to your account even if you won't have a ps4/vita for years.

I'd also recommend picking up Red Dead Redemption. I'd completely forgotten about Unfinished Swan

I have nothing to contribute other than to say that after years of not really playing more than a console game per year, and not purchasing PS+ due to that usage pattern, I have subscribed.

This is a pretty good deal! I'm way behind but am currently playing Borderlands 2, despite not really liking shooters on consoles after my years of PC play. The $$/entertainment ratio here is great, though.

it's hilarious, I can run around and get my character to the right places, but as soon as combat starts I start waving the right control stick all over the place

The game is pretty good at not guilting me about dying ALL THE TIME which is nice.

How's the split screen action on this game? I have a friend I'm trying to lure over with beer but his small child has been keeping him at home.

split screen is ok, but the problem is that bl2 really uses the full panorama (getting flanked by dudes, things that fly etc) so the changed aspect ratio can be a bit of a nightmare. still fun though! i supposed it also depends on whther you have a big fuck off tv or not

You can also do what I do, which is lug my 360 to my friend's house and use a monitor.
