this game gets 10/10 for the "heat" ref alone (in one of the trailers there is a vignette of a bank robbery and the robbers have AK47s and holdalls slung across their backs)

I was glad to finally hear somebody actually say the multiplayer was really fun (and actually worth the cost of the game alone).

There's some cool stuff on the soundtrack, but I'm super bummed about the "hardcore punk" station. I was looking forward to it when I heard the Bad Brains were gonna be featured, instead it's just a bunch of meathead NYHC bullshit. I know it's supposed to be NYC, but COME ON.

It's actually really entertaining to listen to, especially with the knucklehead reactionary meatball DJ. Uh, I've heard it is, anyway.

Played a bit of this round at my friend's bit last night and the driving was ultra-hard and the combat system seemed to have actually gotten worse!

Though of course I reserve judgment until I've played it for some extended period of time and it does look wonderful and crashing in to a low wall and going flying through your windscreen is fun.

My copy has shipped from Amazon (for 360). Bring it on!

ugh - store called & now claims they're not getting the game till tomorrow morning. I guess somebody cracked down somewhere cause I also checked the place around here that ALWAYS breaks street dates (for an extra ten bucks) and no go :(

now i have to stay up all night writing some bullshit about henry james to stay on my paper-writing schedule so i can play gta all motherfucking night tomorrow.

I, unfortunately, am starting a trial on Thursday. Which means I will not be able to get a good 24 hour gameplay session in until this weekend, if at all, the FOLLOWING weekend. Crap.

I went to asda on the old kent road at midnight, and I queued for about half an hour with ooh, maybe about 200 other people. Just as I got to the front of the queue, the woman processing the transactions shouted "just four left!" (xbox copies, she meant - PS3 had sold out much earlier). So I guess after me there were just three. Pretty lucky really.

And now it's 5.25am and I've played about 4 hours (maybe 2.5 of single player and 1.5 of multiplayer) and yes, this game is great.
