waiting for health packs used to be the biggest drag on my ability to play but now it's making sure my battery isn't going to die 2ce a day

major change to classic storm just took effect today from:
Raging Tempest - Yellow Passive
(PASSIVE) Any time a teammate takes > 20% of their health in direct damage, Storm invokes a wall of elements. It damages the enemy team for 125 and generates 4 Red AP.
to:
(PASSIVE) Storm surrounds her team with a whirling tempest that unleashes fury when provoked. If a team member is damaged for 20% of their max health, it deals (x) damage to all enemies. If every team member is below 50% health, damage increases to (about 6.67x).

this is pretty important in that
1) storm HERSELF being hit triggers tempest which means the only ways to beat her without taking damage is to chip away or stun her
2) no more red ap bonus
3) though it's not clear by the above, it's apparently notably less damage for each tempest hit than it used to be

including Storm herself as a trigger SUX so they better have dropped the damage

it's a nerfing intended pretty much to force you to heal more often.

nothing is funnier than watching a modern Storm duel, has this nerfed that?

you mean does it loop back and forth with hits? dunno!

the only ways to beat her without taking damage is to chip away or stun her

or kill her with one attack

(my wolverine claws do 1325 now, plus the strike tiles, can get up into the 1500, 1600 range easy)

definitely feels weaker. i was wondering what happened to that ability. i assume this will cut down on the storm counterattack ping-pong, which usually resulted in insta-kill for one member

Spider-man classic's purple ability was basically changed to a weaker version of Bulleye's, which is nice, because it was useless without the other ability to create Web tiles

I ran into that in a PVP battle and got pwned massively but it was so funny I didn't mind that much

(I promptly stopped using classic Storm as an A-lister as a result but it's still good comedy, ping-ponging Tempests until a Storm dies)

my juggernaut/iron man 53/thor team does pretty well if i ALWAYS start them with a red/yellow boost in iron man 53 pvp. one red match lets thor do a 950pt hit which kills the weakest support member, i can generally match two or three yellows in the next four rounds to get off a 1500pt hit and then we're down to killing the opponents 53 who really can't put together an offensive without LOTS of time or a bunch of those yellow recharge specials... which is where juggernaut's green screen clearing charge comes in handy. also, with all three packing plenty of hp, i can get away with about six or seven fights without healing and maybe 20 or more before i run out of first aid packs.

btw, if you're not using the boosts in pvp get to it because REAL MARVEL PUZZLE QUEST STARTS HERE

you're right, it's really, really terrible. those early Prologue missions were especially awful

so has anyone completely beaten the original story mode to get all the "chance to win" stuff? i'm down to the final 11 in the dark avengers mission board.

just got taken down by a m.storm / m. black widow combo each with only ~100 hp left and both totally weak. they got my team in a loop with sting / mistress of the elements / lightning strike / hailstorm and repeat that went on for like 30 turns without me getting a hit in.

xp yeah, i beat it. as implied, the whole thing is just a prologue for these special mission setups like Unstable Iso-8 or The Hunt that we're seeing right now. the Ragnarok mission at the end was a bit of a pain when I did it the first time. overall the rewards aren't so great except for the Hero Points

at least they fixed it so you get those rewards faster, jfc it was bad before that update

I'd sat 90% of the time when I'm trying to get those last rewards on a mission I get the stupid 20 crystals. And hurt feelings.

currently have the #1 spot in my Iron Man 40 tourney - man, it's a lot of work to stay on top. kinda dreading that i'll have to do this for another 24 hours, lol

#1 on the iron man tourney when i left the house for dinner with my girl, came home two hours later to discover I placed in the 20-25 range grrrrrrrr

i feel ya bro. you gotta be on that shit like a hawk

most annoying thing was that i was at 1086 when i ran out of health/first aid and figured okay i'll come back later to get that sweet sweet spiderman cover at 1100
picked up the pad an hour later and i was down to 895
so angry much sadness many yells

placed no 1 in my tourney -- tanked in a bunch of lightning rounds as suggested and i had a real nice run of it.

now my bracket is pretty rough for the thor event tho :-(

all those covers still don't make my grey suit bw any good though!

can't figure out a good strategy for the thor event. all the battles seem to take down my health more than half, so i can't tear through a few teams on a single health pack.

god i wanted that Spider-Man cover so bad but competition was too fierce, i could barely break 1000 without getting knocked down again

the issue is that any thor over lv 60 is gonna fuck you up if you leave him for last and if you don't take out the other two, the computer will loop special attacks. I've played four matches and am ranked 120 or so which is crazy high considering, so i think most people are sitting this one out and focussing on the story missions where the point totals for the top ten are just ludicrous

I will need to check this to be sure but I think you can create dupes with self-damage, which is bananas.

There’s an almost instant win team floating out there of Jamie, 4* Captain Marvel, and Agent Coulson. Start with +2 boosted in all colors, then place dupes on all colors on your first turn, which triggers Coulson’s passive that spawns countdowns when an ally fires a power, then on the next turn when they all resolve three do escalating damage because of Carol’s passive that buffs SAP tiles on countdown expiration, plus Coulson generates more AP for each countdown, so likely 1-2 enemies are dead by the time everything clears, Jamie’s dupe SAP tiles have been buffed to monstrous levels, and you have enough AP to place more dupes to trigger more countdowns and buffing. It’s not very fast due to the animations but you can kill almost anyone within 3-4 turns.

Also, 5* Omega Red’s black power is fukkin nuts

madness of march vault has 4 roster slots in it, it's as good as the december one.

Multiple Man feels like they didn't fully think out that character. for example the AI team can match 3 dupes and nothing happens and their turn ends.

Honestly I think that is hilarious and one of the funniest things they could have introduced into the game.

yeah even the way his active power works and the weird way it "uses" 0 AP feels buggy

and yup, i sprung right away for the March vault. anything with free roster slots is max value at this point, i might even reset it to get more

With both Agatha and May Parker boosted, I’m sailing through PVE and a lot of PVP with minimal damage

They pushed out a new game engine based on Unity that a) has a bug in it where it resets the counter for daily character tokens every time you force close the app, and b) looks like absolute dogshit

I might actually quit the game now (nb: I will never quit this game)

You don't need to use the exploit to benefit from other issues. Like the DD legendaries are resetting every day instead of every week.

Updating fixed the welcome to SHIELD issue

This game is still hilariously token in several ways but they did just add in Sunspot, which is awesome (New Mutants forever)

Getting 30+ bot matches in PVP before getting an actual P has worked wonders on my roster the last few weeks.

The synergy between the Hydra characters is insane, with Viper as MVP

This game is on its last legs and I expect it to die any second but man they are doing some hilarious things on the way out. They just introduced a 2-star Spider-Horse character who, when ascended to 4-star, turns the entire board red for 5 red AP. It’s effectively a win button; once you get 5 red, the opposing team never gets another turn.

Also, this character at 4-star passively fills the board with web tiles and stuns the character in front for 18 turns.

It’s very obviously broken but also extremely funny
