which city for GTA 5?

To be honest, that's where I'm at right now in the game. Just got done with the docks. Still got that paparazzi guy on Franklin's map. Would just as soon go on a 10-wave hillbilly killin' mission online.

yeah the pap missions are the worst imo... also the minute men ones later in the game

there wasn't even the joke of you getting some inflated union paycheck for 25 mins work, which i was also kind of expecting

yeah the use of trevor's homicidal psychosis for plot purposes is really lazy. but you know, 'satire' right.

At least Minutemen and Paparazzi you can do one mission here and there while progressing with the rest of the game. The Floyd section is necessary to continue playing. And it is maybe the utter nadir of Rockstar's work. Worse than Brucie Kibbutz parts of GTA IV.

what about the car-towing ones... is there any reason why i would want to do those

oh god the car towing missions, this game really is jampacked with anti-fun (every time i have to dick around with the phone or go on the internet i die a bit inside). and like will. m so perfectly put, a huge % of the writing is just pissweak unamusing crap. but at the same time i know it's not a 'bad game' as such, they've just gone overboard - around a third of it should be edited out to leave a slick great game.

also worth noting - that incredible feeling of disappointment when you complete some epic mission to the best of your abilities and it flashes up with 'bronze' and a bunch of unticked boxes. superfun!

Some of you guys should definitely not play Euro Truck Simulator.

one of the things i just dont understand is "exiting" a web page and having to go back through a bunch of unloaded pages, why add that extra time waste to an already huge game

here's a question

i feel like i'm fairly into the game—i've been playing basically any quests i can get my hands, bunch of the "good" side stuff but not thaaaat much "random dudes" stuff (cuz it's usually pretty boring). the last thing that happened was trevor kidnapped the guy's wife.

but i've only done ONE heist where i actually had to do the whole "choose who you hire" thing. when i first did that, and it feels like a while back, i got the sense that this was gonna be a big part of this game, but it just hasn't come back up. even the last bunch of heist type missions (submarine etc) haven't invoked that mechanic. was that just a misleading on the designers' behalf or does it really come back in a big way?

There's a good 3 or 4 missions where you have to make those choices iirc

4, I think, yeah. Lots of build-up to them, too-- steal this, collect that. I mean, I get that some people are like "man this crates mission is boring" but I far preferred the variety in scale and intensity of the missions to the $1-$10-$100-$1000-$10000-$100000 style of the previous games.

the pacing's a little off

there aren't as many heists as you would think though, Slocki's right-- especially considering how many obvious heisty places there are on the map (max security pen, racetrack etc). I wondered whether that's bc the future SP DLC will be sets of heists... that would make sense.

also some dude gave me $250,000,000 in online today... I don't know how to feel about it! I feel kind of like I did as a record collector when Napster came out.

is that part of the "October Settlement" from Rockstar, or did @l 5h1pley give you that money out of his own pocket?

Passive mode only works so well -

I turned it on last night for $100. Went to an ATM. Found a car to steal and sell. Shopped at Ammunination. Was walking toward this property I might get when I'm finally an 80-thousandaire when I see this white blip driving right toward me. It stops and starts zipping through the alleys to the staircase I was standing on.

Dude runs up and just stands in front of me. I don't move. I hear him say to his friend, "I don't know, he's just standing there." His friend, from where ever he was, says "Well, shoot him already!" Guy raises his gun and nothing happens. I push past him and continue down the steps. "He just walked past me," guy says. Friend is giving him a hard time, "Do you not know how to murder someone?"

Felt pretty smug until later on, the guy came around a corner and ran over me. Should've kept passive mode off and shot the guy when I saw him coming the first time.

where are the atms i cant find the atms

Inside 24/7 convenience stores or those orange super 7 ones. Anywhere marked by a store icon, really (except liquor stores.)

i suspect there's a lot more stock movement scripted to story missions -- i've seen a couple things out there about one or two but i wonder about the rest

thing is cuz you cant short stocks, its not like you can cash in on something right before you kill a CEO or whatever

and if you're expected to research the companies to see who the company's competitors are, i dont think that really qualifies as a fun thing to do in a GTA game
