Yeah, I liked that. Two endings, so some replay value.

i'm up to 14/40 challenges

got all of triangle, hexagon, circle pack 2, working on beating square in under 12/8 moves and circle pack 3

the late great, Thursday, 10 October 2013 02:19 (twelve years ago)

pretty cool

Nhex, Thursday, 10 October 2013 02:42 (twelve years ago)

How did you draw your left hand inner circle? I can't see a centre point?

JimD, Thursday, 10 October 2013 13:43 (twelve years ago)

there's a point there, just not an original anchor. its the intersection of the middle inner circle and the large lower right circle.

it's actually my solution to part one of the puzzle so the geometry must be ok, and the anchor point is in the middle... new screenshot with all points:

got the same problem with circle pack 7, i think it doesn't give you the second challenge if you solve both of them in one go.

click here to start exploding (ledge), Thursday, 10 October 2013 13:54 (twelve years ago)

it does, or at least it did on other ones for me

i ripped thru a dozen of these pretty quickly but i got hung up on getting the square in 8, which seems like i should be really simple. i got 9 a couple different ways, so i wondered if i was missing a trick.

Roberto Spiralli, Thursday, 10 October 2013 14:05 (twelve years ago)

I can do it 9 clicks but it only counted 8. either implied line points don't count as actual moves (hint hint) or it felt bad for not giving me the ones above.

click here to start exploding (ledge), Thursday, 10 October 2013 14:07 (twelve years ago)

d'oh just noticed the move counter at the bottom, yep connecting up implied points isn't a move.

this is kinda what I study for a living so this is basically the best video game ever

Euler, Thursday, 10 October 2013 16:59 (twelve years ago)

i love this

is there any way to reset the whole game and start again? i wanna approach it more elegantly after my initial faffing about this morning.

ok, square in 8 is impossible.

it looks like it's not in your origin circle. i think the origin circle can only be one of the initial circles created with the bold origin points in the center, not the larger outer circle. here's my solution: http://i.imgur.com/3iTnFLU.png SPOIERLS

karl...arlk...rlka...lkar..., Thursday, 10 October 2013 17:36 (twelve years ago)

but mine is in eight moves, not five

karl...arlk...rlka...lkar..., Thursday, 10 October 2013 17:36 (twelve years ago)

these were solved around 2300 years ago.

idembanana (abanana), Thursday, 10 October 2013 17:48 (twelve years ago)

seems to me like it's 4 moves just to draw the square, so you only have 4 to get the vertices in place

I like to tackle hard and am crazy (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 10 October 2013 17:56 (twelve years ago)

exactly!

Roberto Spiralli, Thursday, 10 October 2013 17:59 (twelve years ago)

i am baffled by the square

Nhex, Thursday, 10 October 2013 18:30 (twelve years ago)

Roberto Spiralli, Thursday, 10 October 2013 19:56 (twelve years ago)

lol it's a little of both. i am terrible at this game.

reckless woo (Z S), Thursday, 10 October 2013 19:59 (twelve years ago)

square in 8 hint above helped me...

implied line points don't count as actual moves (hint hint)

felt like a dope once i finally got it.

I've Seen rRootage (Will M.), Thursday, 10 October 2013 20:07 (twelve years ago)

ugh so many liars

Roberto Spiralli, Thursday, 10 October 2013 20:13 (twelve years ago)

Are you trying to get it in the origin circle in your 8-move play? You don't have to.

I've Seen rRootage (Will M.), Thursday, 10 October 2013 20:21 (twelve years ago)

no, i was just trying to make a regular impossible square

Roberto Spiralli, Thursday, 10 October 2013 20:31 (twelve years ago)

I don't understand how to do anything in this thing

walkthrough

idembanana (abanana), Thursday, 10 October 2013 20:43 (twelve years ago)

what is an implied point?

Nhex, Thursday, 10 October 2013 21:35 (twelve years ago)

When you draw a line between two intersections/points, you can draw another line that "continues" that line. This second line does not count as a move if it does not connect to another intersection or point.

So if you go circle-circle to start, then you draw a horizontal line between their centres, that's a third move, but if you draw another line continuing that line further left or right, it isn't a move. These "implied" lines are represented by instead of connecting to a point (circle), they kinda connect to a "dash" (line).

Make sense?

I've Seen rRootage (Will M.), Thursday, 10 October 2013 21:58 (twelve years ago)

ah, gotcha. thanks!

Nhex, Friday, 11 October 2013 01:28 (twelve years ago)

yes! ok, onwards.
