same here, JimD. and the game only really comes into its own once you're a fair ways deep into it, and your dude is so uber-powered he can leap tall buildings in a single bound.

I played the first two levels of Brothers. Very good game. The puzzles are more or less like Ratchet and Clank's puzzles, except you're moving both characters simultaneously. Each analog stick and trigger corresponds to one of the two brothers. Lots of climbing, lots of beautiful scenery. If you want something super challenging this probably isn't for you.

reviews i'm seeing are saying "emotional masterpiece" and "ico meets limbo in fable's world" which kind of setting of alarms bells for me.

I love Braid, but always skipped the part where you read the backstory or whatever because Blow is a horrible, horrible writer. But the gameplay rules I think.

"ico meets limbo in fable's world" is fair enough although maybe the better analog would be Papo y Yo. The world reminded me a little bit of the Nepal section of Uncharted 2.

Also, if you don't have any dialog, you don't have any bad dialog.

Aw, kinda bummed that all the reviews for Ducktales Remastered are more or less universally negative

just finished brothers. it's beautiful, it has a few touching moments. save your first (and only) playthrough for a co-op experience with your significant other or friend. it's not challenging, whatsoever, but there are moments that would probably be more enjoyable with a companion. takes about 4 hours to complete.

Trying to log into my profile on 360, not having it. Tried resetting password. failure. Tried creating a new profile - email already exists. Tried contacting them, tells me to put in TWO different email address ?!!?!

Heard good things about an XBLIG title called One Finger Death Punch. It's actually a pretty good game with a fun two button, no-stick mechanic, but as soon as I started hearing some jackass sacking "ROUND-UH ONE" in a bad accent it was like god fuckin' damn it

I remember in some thread posting a while back that I didn't "get" Rayman: Origins when I first played it a year ago or so. Tried it again tonight on a whim - pulled a total 180 on this one. It's really not a game that you should first play in frantic multiplayer, but one you should play by yourself, at your own pace, with headphones and close to the TV if possible, to drink it all in. The music, animation, and design is just wonderful.

crazy sale on at the moment. just bought Arkham City for under £4. Also bought Tony Hawk PSHD because I never got Skate and was feeling nostalgic, but have since remembered that it got pasted in the reviews.

probably not. the Harley Quinn episode is a dud, but if you like the Challenge maps and skins (many of which admittedly are pretty cool) they're worth a few extra bucks IMO

just got an Xbox One and started using Live. I get a little weirded out when some of the younger players have convos with people in the background that unwittingly let me know way more about their lives than I ever wanted to. this one kid this morning was playing me on Madden and his grandpa and friends and family were watching and all I could do is feel self-conscious as to how many people were watching me lose.

I usually play without sound so I can listen to music, but whenever I find myself listening to some Cartman-esque kid getting into it with his mom it really makes me question some of the choices in my life.

I was playing some Russian guy at FIFA today and was 4-0 up at half time when I heard a kid who must have been about six or seven say "dad, why are you losing?". I felt so bad I let him score two in the second half.

this dude in my squad in Battlefield 4 yesterday kept shouting "TOSHIBA! FUCK YOU!" as he was firing at people as if he was dominating the fuck out of the competition and then we get to the results and he killed like 4 people and died 9 times I'm like d00d stfu.
