Omfg tiny tower updated. Shit. I only had like 100 more floors before I could go back to reading books, being a dad, paying attention on con calls, etc.

http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/29/game-dev-tycoon-creator-punishes-pirates-with-in-game-bankruptcy/
This story irks me. Congrats to these guys for ripping off Game Dev Story, charging eight bucks for it, and then finding a way to make the whole thing about themselves. The fact that they cracked their own game makes it hard to sympathize with them. Granted, I've never stolen a game and pay for iOS titles all the time, so maybe it's not about people like me, but this shit is kinda blowing up. It's a good troll job I guess.

Dude, Little Inferno is an awesome game. Takes about 3-hours to play, ending is great, sense of humor is appropriately demented.

i knocked down my stupid tiny tower at 50 floors, what a terrible game
― caek, Tuesday, 7 May 2013 22:24 (thirteen years ago)
I am obsessed with getting to 100 floors in Tiny Tower. Currently at 54 (technically 55 but top floor isn't done yet)
Tombot I'm gonna have the light speed elevator by end of next week, I think
― far too much asshole flesh (DJP), Tuesday, 7 May 2013 22:29 (thirteen years ago)
yeah it was such a terrible game i played it for a month
― caek, Tuesday, 7 May 2013 22:32 (thirteen years ago)
I have noticed your unseemly accrual of bux Dan Lightspeed was the only logical explanation - aim high but be forewarned, after that, it is all paint, cosplay and HAVING ALL OF THE FLOORS AND ALL OF THE STARS and well mostly having nothing better to do while commuting or waiting on meetings to begin/ end

Played The Last Express off a rec in another thread, goddamn is it good! Possibly the best gaming experience I've had on my iPhone. Cheers, ILX!
― insert witticism here (hypehat), Wednesday, 15 May 2013 22:21 (thirteen years ago)
anyone played reiner knizia's ra & tiger&euphrates? the price of both of those dropped to less than a buck on the app store so i'm thinking of getting one or both.
― Jibe, Thursday, 16 May 2013 05:41 (thirteen years ago)
T&E is my favorite of the two but both would be worth getting. The AI isn't too difficult to beat but it's still fun. There's also online and pass and play, I haven't tried online though. Maybe I can convince someone to get it to play with me since it's on sale. I see Le Havre is also a dollar, I think I'm going to get it.
― o_o, Thursday, 16 May 2013 06:27 (thirteen years ago)
i posted about this on the board game geek thread and yeah noticed le havre is cheap too. i've never played any of these, i think i'll get all three, it's only a buck after all. is there any way to track how much you've spent on the app store btw? cos i feel that my constant "it's only a buck after all" might add up to a quite a bit.
― Jibe, Thursday, 16 May 2013 06:49 (thirteen years ago)
Expecting big things from The Last Express, have had to clear 3gb of space just to get it to download.

Impossible Road is great. Sorta like Hexagon meets Wipeout HD?
― polyphonic, Saturday, 18 May 2013 01:24 (thirteen years ago)
Table Top Racing is also free right now. Apparently developed by ex-wipeout guys, it has a pretty simple control scheme that works well for iOS... I've only played the first few tracks, but it seems like one of the better racing experiences I've had on the device...

robot unicorn 2 is a lot less fun now that i've maxed out to level 22.
― stefon taylor swiftboat (s.clover), Monday, 20 May 2013 22:49 (thirteen years ago)
table top racing is not awful, but i left them a neg review for using "oriental" music on the chinese take away level.
― caek, Monday, 20 May 2013 23:50 (thirteen years ago)
also it seems to do that infuriating thing where they try to make it more 'exciting' by making it easy to catch up when you're behind, and difficult to build up a lead when you're ahead. 90s game design. it's more exciting like that if you think dice is an exciting game.

it's kind of a weak version of that tbh
― Nhex, Wednesday, 29 May 2013 20:02 (thirteen years ago)
it's not as puzzly as Clash of Heroes, but it's nicely twitchy and the upgrades jack up the game up well. The sounds are crazily bleepy and bloopy by then in a classic arcade way

My new runner/upgrade/achievement game is Dead Ahead. Nothing shockingly new, just well executed and fun.
― Z S, Thursday, 6 June 2013 02:31 (thirteen years ago)
basically the only thing that kills me at this point in TR2 is a) when the game puts like two impossible obstacles next to each other (rare) or when something happens on my phone and the game freezes for a split second (so fucking common ugh what the fuck)
― walk in the room they throwin Sade left to right (Stevie D(eux)), Thursday, 6 June 2013 03:01 (thirteen years ago)
new TR upgrade fixes the dummest super hard combos.
been playing sonic dash some more for the daily challenges, but now i bought all the characters and its boring again.
also basically worked through 90% of puzzle saga -- was great fun while it lasted. snipers + wizards work really well in my experience, and with leaders the key is strength, not defense or health. all about just keeping the attack going before any enemy can get in a blow.
